Update on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. BluRay/DVD Sets

[IMG]Of course we have already downloaded all the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. episodes on iTunes, and many of you have as well, but that doesn’t mean we’re not holding a spot open on our shelves for that coveted Blu Ray disc set of season 1.
After concerns there may not even be a DVD or Blu Ray release, back in April we encouraged fans to let Disney and Marvel know that we wanted one and by the end of May we finally got word of a release date and all was right with the world, that is until a few weeks later when the season 1 box sets mysteriously disappeared from pre-order on the Amazon website.
Until now it has remained a mystery as to why the pre-order was pulled but Variety has now provided an explanation.
Amazon.com currently is not offering DVD pre-orders for most upcoming Disney releases in the U.S. — including “Maleficent” and “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” — in what looks like a replay of the e-commerce giant’s homevideo standoff with Warner Bros. terms earlier this summer.
Other forthcoming Mouse House titles unavailable to order include “Muppets Most Wanted” (set for Aug. 12 release) and “Million Dollar Arm” (Oct. 7). In the U.S., “Captain America” is slated for homevideo release Sept. 9, and “Maleficent” is set for Nov. 4.
“Sign up to be notified when this item becomes available,” says a notice on Amazon’s DVD landing pages for “Maleficent” and “Muppets Most Wanted,” while it does not even list DVDs for the other two. By contrast, both “Maleficent” and “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” are available on Amazon’s U.K. website.
We understand that once the release date arrives you will still be able to order the DVD and Blu Ray box sets of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 1 [IMG] on Amazon but if you want to get your order in in advance you can look to the following online retailers: Target, Barnes & Noble, Best Buy, Walmart, Overstock, MovieStop , FYE or pre-order at your local store.

Amazon.ca has it for pre-order with a release date of Sept. 9 same day as Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

I am new to this forum but I would like to point out that Amazon bought the rights to Marvels Agents of Shield (MAOS) before season 3. since Amazon now owns those rights MY GUESS would be that they do not want to release S-4 or S-5 anytime soon. The longer Amazon waits the more money they will make because people will continue to PAY to watch individual episodes. This is my theory but it seems to that as always its all about money. Once the season id released some people LIKE ME will buy them. the more that this happens the less money that amazon will make. The bottom line is that Amazon owns the rights to MAOS and are in no hurry to professionally relaese it on DVD/Blueray.
