The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Does this movie really deserve the hate it gets?

Woah, I wouldn't say he's anywhere near RDJ lol. The only ones up there with Downey are Bale, Maguire, Jackman, Fassbender/McKellen, and McAvoy/Stewart. But Garfield's good. He isn't the problem. MoS I watched twice, enjoyed it, but haven't seen it since last year.
Sorry but maguire is no where near Downey. Garfield actually has the traits of the romita Parker while tobey is just stick on pre spider bite ditko.

Also, I heard a couple of people say that the movie was just okay.

Alright. So anyway, got any ideas for the sinister six and TASM 3? and please give me some good ideas instead of joking around like some hater. I really want a good or great spiderman movie

Maguire isn't bad but not even close to Garfield or RDJ. Bale is good but I would take Garfield has spider man over bale has batman any day.

I wish but I am not the most creative person lol.

After watching the deleted scenes, I feel this movie would have been better if they had finished all the Goblin scenes & actually kept them in the movie.

For sure gave the movie more action and gave harry more development.

I did not like this movie much but I'd never say it's among the worst of the genre. It's not even the worst Spider-man movie(SM3 still holds that distinction as far as I'm concerned). I'd put this about even with last year's The Wolverine(which I also did not like). The single biggest problem with this movie was a scatter-brained focus by the studio too interested in copying Marvel/Disney than blazing it's own trail for it's future, IMO.

Yeah, well that's just like...your opinion man.

Maguire still gave the audience a few moments of disbelief: "Wow, did he just say/do that?"

I have yet to feel that way about RDJ, which is why I think he's in a league of his own.

I truly feel that Webb and company were blessed to be given Garfield; but their writing has limited him in a lot of ways.

Besides the last 15-20 minutes, can you elaborate on any other parts that you may have liked?

None really. I mean I liked individual performances but there weren't any scenes that particularly stood out to me prior to the end sequence. I don't think this film was anywhere near as good as the first

I just saw it and I was hoping the criticism was wrong but the movie was bad, really bad. The only decent part was maybe the last 15-20 minutes but the actual bulk of the film was cringeworthy. They really made sure to touch the most antiquated superhero clichés. Electro and his whole origin and motives were just weak and terrible and ruined this

Even the last 15-20 minutes were not good, IMO. They ruined the adaption of Gwen's death, and Rhino and Goblin were horrendous. Goblin was rushed and shoe horned in.

Come on Joker, you've got to find some love for the last 15-20 minutes, it made me cry, seriously! :( (Sad tears not post)

Do you think, in a film sense, ignore the comics for a second if possible, that the death was good from a film perspective? Did you believe Andrew's acting? The solemn funeral?

Then there's Spidey and the kid, I saw the kid as everything the previous spider-man was and now the real spidey has taken over, the one that's chosen to be a hero. I like it that way.

Thinking about it, it's the only CBM to make me cry and I don't know why. There's been sadder moments in CBM's for sure. Am I broken?

I also question why a directors cut version of both TASM 1and 2 aren't enough. They obviously are and the evidence from the commentaries and missing scenes prove it especially the deleted scenes abd pre visualizations. This isn't about comparing them to raimi this is about wanting a good spiderman movie especially from Webb and andrew

What on earth does that have to do with anything?

Who even mentioned Raimi, why are you still talking about a directors cut.

Why do you why? :(

Web hand.

That is all.

W/Great power brought up a good point. That's all

I don't care much for RDJ. He felt typecast as hell.

He can do so much better.

What's wrong with RDJ!?! He's the definition of a great casting choice for comic book characters.

I just said why - I feel like he's just been playing himself in the Iron Man movies.

Web hand.

That is all.

Contextually it made sense.

It got the themes of the film down pat.

There was a genuine message behind it.

Visuals are debatable, but it looks fine to me.

It wasn't as not subtle as it could have been.

"That is all"

This is why we only discuss the directors cut now :( "Why was X bad" is met with two words :( It makes me sad.

I miss the well worded vitriol towards the film

When SM3 came out and Hasbro had taken over, I became sad.

That pissed me the **** off. I still had my Spider-Man 2 Spidey figure but when I got Venom, he was like an inch shorter.

Yeah.

They did make another SM3 Venom a few years later, which was a much better figure, and was actually black, instead of purple like the first one, though.

I completely agree. I did not like the final 15-20. If it was me, I would have ended it with Gwen's funeral and Peter not showing up because he couldn't dare to see Gwen's family knowing he feels responsible for her death and Captain Stacy's.

He goes by himself later in the day and he has an Alfred moment. He sees Gwen's grave and looks over the Captain Stacy and is all "you told me to keep her out, you trust me and I failed. If I listened, she would still be here. She wouldn't be dead."

He then goes home and sees his Spdier-Man suit. The next part I take a nod from Miles's Spider-Man because Raimi already did No More and we see Peter do this to his Spidey suit.

End the film on that.

Funny thing is they did the Alfred bit in one of the original cuts. Though if it ended with a nod to miles giving up as spiderman then the ending would've felt more powerful. But instead we got Peter coming back fight a Paul giamatti in a mechanized rhino suit.

I really hope all four upcoming films do well without Sony meddling into the creators' businesses
