Doesit bother you that this installment will have fewer CGI elements?

I think allot of people said WTF to begin with.

Yes, some of the shots in Hulk1 looked bad BUT there have been great advances in the art since then and it is still the only way to go to put a 9 foot tall Hulk onscreen. Same for Abomination. Period.

Agreed. And I think 9 feet tall is the perfect hight.

For those people under the belief that an actor in a suit playing the hulk is better, have you considered the fact that they won't resemble Banner as the hulk? If Eric Bana is to return, it only makes sense for the character (the Hulk) to resemble his human counterpart. After all, he is what he is.

Altering genes to create the Hulk is one thing, but to look like someone totally different, even though you share the same genetic material (hair, skin bones, etc.) is another. I think a muscled up version of Banner makes total sense. Which is why I don't think they should change it from CGI to practical live action appliances (hair & makeup bodysuits).

I mean really people.... Do you really want the to Hulk look like this?

lmao true, true...
It's Mr.Hyde right? They did a teribble job with it. Even what they did with his personality... Lee based Hulk on Dr.Jekyll & Mr. Hyde, not the other way round, damn it. That was sooo not Mr.Hyde... I liked the actor as Dr. Jekyll, though.

Using less CGI is a mistake. I thought the Hulk looked really good in the first movie. I think this is being done mostly because they would have to do 2 CGI characters with the Abomination in the movie. I don't like it, and I hope they can do a good job with the effects. At this moment though, I am more worried about who is returning or being recast.

It's not like they need to create a lot of Hulk sequences. Even though there were four in the last one, and two with the villain, they could keep it the same and us fans would be fine with that... At least I would. Besides, most of the movie will be dealing with Banner and his inner demons, and introducing the origin of the A-Bom. So there's the drama aspect of the movie right there. And eventually, somewhwere along the line, the effects will fall into place.

... After all, it's their $100mil plus they're spending, not ours. And if we don't support the movie (by seeing it), they simply won't make any more. It's that simple. But by the same token, if they don't give us what we want to see, we won't pay to go see it... It's a double-edged sword if you ask me.

I have a feeling this one will have more action (more Hulk). I'd like to see Hulk only a couple of times in the movie, but that is one reason many complained, so I doubt Banner's drama will be the main focus again. I'd love it to be (as a defender of the first movie), but I don't see it happening.

Same here. I thought the first film was great. Minus the music. I thought they should have put in some hard rock, or metal... To set the mood of the Hulk in certain scenes.

"Set me Free" was hard rock, worst song on the soundtrack.

I don't think they will use a guy in a suit. That would be a bad decision. The Hulk needs to be CGI. Same for Abomination. There has got to be alot of ways to cut back on CGI without taking it away from the main character of the movie.

If Guilermo De Toro can make Hellboy come alive I belive it's possible to have a guy in a suit as Hulk. Man I wish GDT was making Incredible Hulk.

What i'm worried about is, if our comments here will make a difference?
This LL guy seems dominant in his decissions about using lesser CGI in this second film of the HULK. Personally i'd like CGI better,i just wonder if all our talk here will be given attention.
I think they should stick with CGI HULK cause like that other guy said "how can a 6ft+ or 7ft+ actor carry a tank when he can't even reach for the cannon which is about 9ft high? Like if there's even a 7ft tall actor.
If they said that Ang Lee screwed the first film,i'm pretty damn sure they'll make a crap out of this one! With this kind of attitude of the director,no offense with the Transporter movies i honestly loved the action there, but LL said that they wanted this HULK to be the 1 that fans liked and now he's gonna mess everything up if he'll use a guy in a suit, cause a lot of HULK fans don't want a guy in suit version of the HULK that would just be an absolute disaster!

So What if Rick Baker desinged the suit mixed with CGI?

After listening to Leterrier's comment...

"I can already tell you that I don't intend to use as much 3D as the first movie did. As for the budget, it will be over 100 millions".

I find it disturbing that the effects for this film might be fewer than the first movie. As it stands, the Hulk appeared four times in the first film. Is he saying he will have even fewer appearances this time around? Or, is he hinting that there will be a human actor playing the Hulk.... I certainly hope not in either situation. It makes it kind of hard to jump from the somewhat-likeable CGI green goliath in the first film, to having a real person half that size. And I hope to God they don't do that full body suit like they did in Hellboy, or Hyde, from "League of Extrordinary Gentlemen"... I'd rather shoot myself.

What do you think is going to happen?

I'm hoping that they meant that only Hulk and the ABomination will be the only CGI's and that they're going to use real explosions instead of CGI ones...

thats what Ang did the first movie

I was very dismissive of the use of CGI in the first film, but after seeing it in action, was impressed to the 10th degree. Say what you will about Ang's take on the film, but he flat out nailed how the Hulk should look, and move. They made him twice as big as he should've been, but dammit, that was the Hulk. A bodybuilder or big Wrestler painted green doesn't come close in comparison.
I agree:up:

Just look at these shots....

Exactly, people forget so quickly. Ang shot a lot of stuff in real locations with real explosions the whole shi-bang.

yeah..and Hulk looked great next to them, like the explosion in his old house, everything there was really except for Hulk and the silent explosion above the house.
