Comics Doesn't anyone else read Spider-Girl??

Those don't look like good numbers. :csad:

On the plus side, Diamond sales numbers mostly just reflect the direct market distribution. I believe a company called Source Interlink is also involved with distribution, but they don't publish any current distribution numbers that I know of.

Going by digest sales (1500 per volume in the direct market vs. 60,000 per volume in the mass market), the mass market loves Spider-Girl! I think it would be really useful to the future of the book if the monthly comics were sold there. Might as well. I think the direct market is a dead end.

In fact, just recently Books-a-Million picked up the Spider-Girl monthly comic! Now if only Border and Barnes & Noble will jump on the bandwagon with a few letters from us....

The title just isn't that good, and that's why it's sales are low.

Yes, I know, it's shocking a comic you love isn't worshiped by every human being alive, but those are the breaks.

While I enjoy Spider-Girl, I have to say I hate every person in her high school, they are just the worst supporting cast ever. I think part of me reading it is hoping the school will explode in some issue or something.

40ish Peter and MJ are awesome tho.

It's not shocking. I'll agree with you to a point that ever since the reboot to Amazing Spider-Girl the title hasn't given that "click" that I always got from the title before. I'd just hate to see the title survive this long and being saved from cancellation so many times...that is just dissolves away.

Though..eventually that is going to have to happen. Barring a miracle, of course.

Tomorrow. Carnage is coming to Mayday's world.

dun dun dun.

I think that May will finally find out Darkdevil's true identity this story arc.:woot:

Just read it and I must say it's an interesting start to the carnage saga. Besides the carnage part of the story, there is also another subplot that is occurring as well. I never notice it until someone pointed it out to me.

what is the subplot???

It's more of a foreshadowing for the future if u think about it. Anyway, here's a scan of the page. See if u can figure it out.

I love Spider-girl and just started reading again due to how bad Spider-man comics have been lately. Defalco is one of the only writers I feel can get the Spider-man comics right. and it shows with Spider-girl. Tarantula is the new King Pin(which makes me happy he's getting the recongnition he deserves), Spider-girl actually has a supporting cast(and a good one at that), and it at the end of issue 10 CARNAGE RETURNS!!!!!! I almost wet my fanboy pants. Can't wait for issue 10.

I think actually its because Spider-girl isn't in 616 continuity. I know alot of peoples reasons for not reading M2 or Ultimates is it not being in continuity. And since M2 isn't promoted nearly as much as ultimates is, I can see why sales are low.

Does anyone have pictures of Claw the Cat from Spider-Girl 73..he is the only villain I can't find a decent picture of.

yeah I really tried to like this book but I don't....I'm offing it I think...gotta clear up some space for the new Annihilation event anyway

I finally got a hold of issue # 9 and, wow. I have to say that this was probably the best issue of the new series since # 2. Great stuff all around and the work between Frenz and Buscema was great. I know it was discussed earlier in the thread but I have to point out again that it looks like Baby Ben is already discovering his Spider-powers. That's freakin' awesome.

And with the return of Carnage...definitely wow. I loved that last splash page...great work by the art team.

Ohh, that doesn't sound too good for little Ben!!!

I don't know anyone that reads this title, or the one before. I never got into it either...

You should give it a shot, it really is a great title, good stories with depth and a great supporting cast. If feels very old school Spidey. This is currnetly my favorite title and has been for years. :yay:

Why yes I am quoting myself.......I actually didn't off the title,,,,,because I completely forgot to......I actually completely forgot how down I was on this title....which is why I feel great saying, the current ASG arc may be one of my fav current arcs (well it's not Annihilation but)

....I've stayed on board this title for sooo long (about SG #97)wanting to like it and failing miserably to do so.....and here I am now anxiously awaiting next month's ish.....damn I'm glad I forgot to call my comic guy :)
