Or they just believe that it's boring and disappointing. That's possible too. Those aren't mutually exclusive all the time. It happens.

Meh.

Oh please. You can have a different opinion than someone without insulting their intelligence, or believing you're somehow smarter than they are because you "get it". You sound like one of these college professors who tells their students the reason they don't like X is because they just didn't understand it -the possibility that yes, they do understand the material just fine and yet still didn't enjoy it is somehow a foreign concept. Hannibal's not exactly rocket science, it's an entirely subjective piece of art.

That's not what I'm saying, so calm down. There's no need to get so worked up and put words in my mouth. No one is insulting anyone.

I said what I said from my own perspective: these episodes have been challenging for me to understand as well (especially episode 3, that was almost too obtuse for me, lol). It's not surprising that people aren't "entertained" when the early episodes in particular have been more of the "show, don't tell" variety.

There will certainly be those who simply don't enjoy Hannibal because they truly don't enjoy it. Good for them.

But there are also the kind of people I described. They exist, too.

What a ****ing episode. Great conclusion to that arc and I'm super excited now for the red dragon arc, especially after the comic con trailer.

Man, Hannibal is a really sonofa*****. Will just can't catch a break. That was probably the most satisfying end to that story arc I could imagine.

Yeah, he's simultaneously vindictive and prescient.

He really is the devil.

Just finished watching Digestivo and wow such an emotional episode. I loved everything about this episode. Can't wait for Red Dragon.

Finally, it seems like options for a fourth season keep becoming fewer and fewer. Is there still hope left for the show to live on beyond Season 3?

Fuller: It doesn't seem like there is any imminent rescue. But I'm kind of waiting for the show to air its final episodes so that the audience can understand what a fourth season would be like and how this story between these two men would continue. None of the networks the studio has talked to about picking up a fourth season knew how this season was going to end; they were just going off the assumption that it was just going to be another season. And so much changes in the finale of the third season that pays off all of these dynamics between Will and Hannibal that we're talking about - the regret and the betrayal and the wanting to move on and the fear that you might not be capable of moving on. All of those things play out through the Red Dragon arc. After the finale, I'd love to perhaps re-open the conversation with potential networks or streaming options once they clearly understand what the story is that we've told.

Hm. Pretty much what I expected - the season will have to be over before these options potentially would begin to open up.

Bah, the last episode really was great, but they did the one thing I hoped they wouldn't

"We talked about several different versions of it, including a much more ghoulish surrogate, which would have been a limbless, headless woman who is essentially an incubator for the baby."

Jesus ****ing Christ :funny:

Well he did warn us. :o

Obviously I wasn't the only one to take your post with a high-horse type tone. If you'd gone into further detail in your initial post like you do here, I doubt there would have been any misunderstanding. Incidentally, I didn't put words in your mouth, I paraphrased, just as you did.

In any case I'm glad you're not generalizing as much as it first appeared you did, that would have been a terribly pretentious attitude to have.

The best episode of season 3 by a distance. Brilliant. 10/10

Yeah, it was you and one other person. Ok.

I'm not sure why you feel the need to be so accusatory and offended by this. I didn't think I needed to go into further detail because I thought what I said was clear enough. Evidently, it wasn't (to two people), so I clarified. But taking such a condescending tone about it isn't really doing you any favors, nor is it encouraging me to respond seriously to anything you're saying. I'm sorry I set off your inferiority complex.

And good for you.

So apparently the finale is called The Wrath of the Lamb.

How fitting.

Fuller, you bastard, how could you tantalize possibly the series finale of Hannibal with a title like that????

-shakes fists angrily at the sky for cancelling Hannibal-

Lol

Well hopefully, the ending of this season does open up possibilities at new outlets for the show.

I mean, we're definitely not getting anything until 2017 at the earliest.

This past ep was great..and like other's have said, could have easily served as a series finale.....

Did anyone else not like that Hannibal essentially gave himself up in the end? “I want you to know exactly where I am and where you can always find me.”

While I love virtually everything about the show, I do feel that they've gone a little too far with the Will/Hannibal relationship.

They haven't gone far enough. :o

It's the slashiest relationship I've ever seen that doesn't actually involve kissing or sex. They honest to God make Hannibal look like he's in love with Will.

I wasn't a fan of it, either. I kind of had a fear that they would make it to were Hannibal gave himself up as opposed to getting caught clean. It was done well enough here and all with how they tied it to Will, but I wanted to see him actually caught, not giving himself up. One of the few things I don't care for in this is just how much 'power', for lack of a better word, they give Hannibal.
