This sounds absolutely amazing! Is that poster above genuine?

What's with the Americans all of a sudden. A few years ago the bottom line was the most important thing and shows which chased the lowest common denominator were king. Then suddenly bang, they relearn all the old tricks of the trade and start making incredible shows/films again!

The posters just a mock-up. All three of those actor photos are just headshots you could probably find on IMDB. I can't wait to see an official look at these guys in character.

Exclusive: Hannibal Gobbles Up Molly Shannon
by Michael Ausiello and Kimberly Roots

Mary Katherine Gallagher, meet Hannibal Lecter.

Saturday Night Live alum Molly Shannon has nabbed a top-secret guest role in NBC’s upcoming drama Hannibal, TVLine has learned exclusively.

Though details on the funny lady’s visit to cannibal-land are sparse, we can report that the guest spot is for one episode with the potential to recur.

The former Not Ready for Primetime Player has been very busy as of late. She’s recently had stints on Web Therapy, Up All Night and The Middle, and she landed a recurring role on the upcoming second season of HBO’s Enlightened. She also currently can be heard voicing Wanda the werewolf in the big screen animated flick Hotel Transylvania.

Like Hannibal‘s Caroline Dhavernas, Chelan Simons and Ellen Greene, Shannon has previously worked with showrunner Bryan Fuller: She played candy emporium owner Dilly Balsam in Fuller’s Pushing Daisies.

Hannibal, a contemporary thriller based on characters from Thomas Harris’ Red Dragon, is slated to premiere at midseason.
lol wut?

Hannibal Exclusive: Gina Torres Is Jack's Wife!

Another week, another killer piece of Hannibal casting.

Gina Torres is joining NBC’s contemporary Hannibal Lecter series as the wife of Laurence Fishburne’s G-Man Jack Crawford, TVLine has learned exclusively.

Like Hannibal‘s Caroline Dhavernas, Molly Shannon, Chelan Simons and Ellen Greene, Torres — who will juggle the recurring gig with her full-time job on USA Network’s Suits — previously worked with Hannibal exec producer Bryan Fuller: She played beautiful grifter Lila Robinson in Fuller’s Pushing Daisies. The actress also has a connection to onscreen spouse Fishburne — she’s married to him!

Hannibal, which is based on characters from Thomas Harris’ Red Dragon, centers on the budding relationship between FBI agent Will Graham (played by Hugh Dancy) and his mentor Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen) – who are re-introduced at the beginning of their budding relationship. It’s slated to bow at midseason.

:wow::up:

This and The Following are probably the two new shows that I'am excited for.

Off topic question, Crockett is that Ingmar Bergman in your avatar?

I wonder, on a scale of Heroes to Pushing Daisies, just how visually Fuller this will look. I wouldn't want it to go too overboard into a PD direction, but if it had a bit more visual flair than most crime dramas, that'd be awesome.

Lol, I like how they gave young Lecter the European new-wave look, like he just stepped out of an ABC video.

It really is kind of surreal to see someone other than Anthony Hopkins credited as Hannibal Lecter, especially when their appearance is so different (not saying that's a bad thing, I actually prefer it to someone trying to be Hopkins 2.0).

Lecter does look awesome. When is this supposed to air?

No official date yet. But the new pics make me hope we'll get one soon. And hopefully a little tease with Fuller's Mockingbird Lane tomorrow night. That would be awesome.

I thought this whole idea was stupid at first but it's starting to grow on me. I wasn't expecting Lecter to be working with Graham like that. I haven't read Red Dragon in years and I don't remember that happening, but oh well, the TV show can deviate and I am glad they are keeping it in Red Dragon territory.

Pics are looking good. Wow, really can't wait to watch this!

Part of the backstory of Red Dragon was Hannibal helped Graham investigate a murder (before Graham realized Hannibal himself was the murderer).

It's how they met.

The show is probably expanding on it quite a bit by the sound of things, but it does have basis in the book.

Just got finished watching Mocking Bird Lane and if Fuller could do that - this will be beyond awesome.

I'm guessing they didn't give a Hannibal tease with Mockingbird Lane tonight? :csad:

Nope. They spent all their time promoting Revolution and Grimm.

That's a shame. Fox is already running promos for The Following. I don't want this to be another Awake situation where the network has absolutely no clue where they're going to schedule the show until something gets canned and then they decide to make an announcement just six weeks ahead of time and shoot off as many ads as they can, hoping that people will still give a **** by that point in the season.

I'm wondering what timeslot this will get. I'm guessing wednesdays at 10, after Chicago Fire has sunken even further into the ratings ****ter.

EW said it will air in 2013, but didn't give a month or anything. I just hope it's not another Sunday night show because my sundays are already booked up full between HBO and AMC. :(

Chicago Fire actually bounced back in the 3rd week so I could see NBC keep it there for the rest of the season before shifting it to Fridays next fall. That's if the numbers stay around 2.0-1.8.

Tuesdays it would be up against Vegas and an ABC midseason drama (likely Mistresses).

Wednesdays it would be up against CSI and Nashville.

Thursdays it would up against Elementary and Scandal.

Wednesdays would be best since CSI and Nashville skew older and have small demo numbers and L&O SVU is a better lead in than Parks and Recreation on Thursdays.

Though whatever numbers it would get would be a vast improvement over Rock Center if it aired on Thursdays.

It probably won't show up until February or March and air for 13 straight weeks like a "cable series."

NBC has stabilized and and succeeded on Monday/Tuesdays, Wednesdays aren't completely on fire but Thursdays have sunk to the bottom of the ocean and will need to be reworked in 2013/2014.

NBC also only ordered 15 episodes of Parenthood on Tuesdays so it could go there as well once their season is over in February.

Infamous, Crossbones, Dracula and Hannibal are the mid-season replacements without a date.
