Dr. Lecter Invites you to Dinner. The ''Hannibal'' Thread

How many episodes is the first season? Really weird and dangerous ratings wise to be premireing a show on a prime time network so late in the game.

Weird. A show running into the mid-Summer yet debuting in late-Spring.

Yeah, I'm not particularly sure I like the april start date either. I think they could've run it over the summer, starting in June or something, and the show might be better off for it.

Looks cool.

Honestly, it's still slightly hard for me to see someone other than Hopkins as Hannibal though.

Not bad at all.
Fishburn voice sold it to me.
I will have to get used to Mikkelsen characterization of Lecter after years of Hopkins.

This can't come soon enough, and I'm so ready to see more of Mikkelsen's Lecter.

I'm loving everything I'm seeing. I just wish it had a better start date.

Yeah, that premiere date just pisses me off. If you're gonna hold it for this long, why not drop it in the summer or fall? Why force it to compete with several shows that are wrapping up their seasons?

I still have high hopes, but it's like they're trying to **** it over.

Silence of The Lambs is my favorite movie, and I'd pretty much ignored everything about this series up and until now. A friend sent me a link with the cast and I was pretty excited to see Mads Mikkelsen as Hannibal, he's a great choice. The trailer looks pretty good, I'll definitely be checking it out with an open mind.

I'm curious how far this series will go.

Will it eventually get to the events of Red Dragon?

If all goes according to plan, Fuller said Red Dragon would be season 3 or 4.

Hmm. Hope it makes it that far. I'd be curious to see who they cast for Dolarhyde.

I wonder if really popular would they continue on to remake silence of the lambs and then hannibal?

I don't see them going that far.

Will Graham is the lead of this show. That would mean halfway through the show he disappears and is replaced by a new lead?

Plus this unexplored prequel material is much different than just rehashing the events of the movies.

If this series runs to completion (knock on wood) I imagined it would have the same sort of ending as Ratner's Red Dragon... "Dr. Lecter, there's an agent here to speak with you. Her name is Starling." Lecter smirks. Cut to black.

I don't know. Fuller may be too ambitious, but it's a fact that he has already presented a 7 seasons arc for this series and he said that "Red Dragon" will be covered in season 4. I don't see it likely that (if the series makes it that far) after that we keep seeing Will Graham, at least not continuously. Here are bits from an earlier interview of Fuller on this:
Fuller says the plan for Hannibal will be for 13 episode seasons arcs of which he has pitched a whopping seven seasons blueprint to NBC, with stories based on Harris’ novels filling many of the later episodes.

“Doing a cable model on network television [13-
episode seasons] gives us the opportunity not to dally in our storytelling because we have a lot of real estate to cover,” Fuller says. “I pitched a seven-season arc including stories from various [Thomas Harris] books.”

He also revealed that once Lecter is revealed as the villain (which will probably be end of season one, or early season two) there will be a radical shake-up of the show’s format and that no viewer should get too comfortable in thinking they are watching a procedural

Oh man, I REALLY hope this at the least gets a second season.

So is the show going to show us that Hannibal is a killer, or conclusively reveal it to both us and Graham at the same time?

I mean, obviously we already know Hannibal's deal, but I'm just curious.
