E3 2011: Microsoft Edition

So, in other words, it´s everyone´s fault except Microsoft´s.
Every studio that was bought started to suck, but it´s not Microsoft´s fault...

I have no reply for that....i really don´t.
Both studios were fine before the buyout (you say that Rare wasn´t, it´s your opinion), both were bought by Microsoft, and both started to suck........eehhhh...do you see a connection here?
But, ok, it´s not Microsoft´s fault.....
Denial much?

Sure, i can´t say for a fact that it is Microsoft´s fault, i can´t read minds to see what is going on (i left my mind reader device in my other pants), but you only have to put 2 and 2 together to arrive to a conclusion.

Maybe we should blame I dunno....Peter Molyneux. They let him do whatever the hell he wants.
You do know that Peter Molyneux was always independent, he always did what he wanted, right?
It was only when he went to Microsoft that he decided to start to suck, is that it?

And to do nothing more than Fable, it has Molyneux written all over it, the man was always known to milk his franchises, he was even called Peter "The Milkman" Molynuex...

Rare was definitely going down the tubes waaay before Microsoft ever bought them. They've been terrible since their Gamecube days. Its not like Microsoft can wave a magic wand and make a studio good. The creative talent left the studio leaving Microsoft with a Rare that is past its prime.

It's not like Microsoft swooped in, kidnapped Rare, and forced them to make bad games. There's a reason Nintendo wanted to sell them.

Exactly, though may I say I enjoyed Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts, Viva Pinata was ridiculously addicting and Kinect Sports is great to play with friends and family

I'm not saying that Microsoft is an innocent company that cannot make mistakes. Hell, I don't even have a reason to defend Microsoft since I don't have an Xbox 360 and have no intention on getting anything from the Xbox brand. But the root of Rare's problems go far beyond the Microsoft buyout. To say that Rare started sucking when Microsoft bought them is ludicrous. Their problems started before Microsoft bought them out.

Molyneux's problems come from the fact that he's an egotistical ass who overhypes his games. He's done this even before Microsoft bought Lionhead.

Xbox: Now That's Entertainment

Xbox and entertainment. For the last 10 years at Microsoft, we’ve been turning up the heat on how we think about Xbox, and next week at E3 you will get a chance to see how far we’ve come.
Xbox = entertainment and is core to our entertainment strategy. Around the world, the Xbox connects more people to online content and communities through the largest screen in the house than any other device. And as the console has evolved, it’s stayed true to its core while adding more and more experiences. Today, there is no better gaming experience in the world. Immersive games, sports games, games where you are the controller, games where you talk to your friends, games where you talk to the console, games that get you into shape, that make you laugh, that let you take a picture and share it with friends. Games that extend to your Windows 7 PC and your Windows Phone 7…and, of course, other devices to come…
Next Monday at E3 in Los Angeles, the Xbox home entertainment pot will be boiling over during a 90-minute event that you can view live on Spike TV, Xbox.com or on the Microsoft News Center. We’re continuing to deliver mind-blowing gaming experiences, and we are turning up the heat on a whole new era of home entertainment.

No. The demo was just showing head tracking with Kinect. I think you will still have to use a controller or steering wheel setup to play it.

Not sure how they can take out blu-ray now. I wish they would give up on that particular war.

Oh I get it :woot:
:csad:

I feel is bigger than that, Microsoft lacks passion.

Microsoft´s only reason to be in this business is to make money, that´s their only interest.
Sure, you can say that any company, in any business, wants the same thing, and your right, but you also need to love what you do, you need passion......both Sony and Nintendo have it.
It doesn´t take a rocket scientist to arrive to that conclusion, just look how MS works.

- They killed Rare, the oldest developer around, because they needed someone to make avatars and then needed someone to make games for Kinect.
- They are totally focused on Kinect because the Wii (aka motion control) is a huge sucess.
- While Halo, Forza and Fable are a sucess, this is it as non-Kinect exclusives go.
More even, Forza 4 will be a Kinect game, Fable 3 was going to have Kinect compability, which means that Fable 4 Kinect is a guarantee...i bet Halo 4 or even the Halo remake will Kinect as well.
- They have a lousy first party, not buying developers and just creating Kinect ones
- The best example of the lack of passion is Crackdown 2.
Just so they could have one more game that wasn´t the Halo Reach or Fable 2, Crackdown 2 was rushed into production, it was made in 12 months.
That´s why the game is nothing more than a reharsh of the first game, and not even a great one at that.
It was never made to be a great game, it was made to sell and have something new to release....if it would have been a great game, it would have been a bonus.

It is every business's goal to make money wtf? Where do you live? Cuba?

- Rare sucked. What was their last good game? Rare killed itself.

- Motion gaming is the future. Sony is focused on motion gaming. Do you not watch television? Do you not see the light bulb Sony controller in stores? WTF are you serious?

- Non Kinect exclusives? Gears? Halo? Halo is one of the most popular video games ever. What does PS3 have that can compete with Halo? Nothing. Are you proud of exclusives or something? Do you have a trophy case of PS3 exclusives?

- You just threw a piss fit over Microsoft buying Rare and killing it but then you complain that Microsoft isn't buying enough developers. HAHA ok.

- Real Time Worlds made Crackdown. Ruffian Games made Crackdown 2. Also, the game had mixed to positive reviews so I don't know where you got that it was a horrible abomination of a game. It has a 71/100 on Metacritic.

You either work for Sony or you are given experimental drugs that cause sexual arousal around all Sony products. Or...Microsoft stole your fiance?

I own a PS3 and a 360 because they are both good consoles. Microsoft wins hands down with XBL but holy crap for anyone to only own a PS3 because they think Microsoft is evil is a complete fool.

From some earlier previews, you'll be able to use both. You can use a wheel and pedals along with the Kinect for a more 'simulation' experience, or you can simply just use the Kinect to control your car, but i believe that feature will be relegated to a more 'casual' mode within the game.

I really hope that head tracking gets used for other racing titles. If F1 2011 uses it, ill do back flips.
