E3 2011: Microsoft Edition

Something like that would be addicting to play.

Lol. That's messed up they made that big ol girl try to fit through that tiny shape.

I look forward to this...although I'm sure it'll be a big Kinect love fest, and I don't really have any interest to spend that much money on one.

I hope we get some neat news for XBLA though. Shadow Complex 2 anyone!?!?! :awesome:

Yeah, I kind of forgot about XBLA. I'm hoping to finally get some release dates on BattleBlock Theater, Fez, Owlboy, and Dust.

Kojima loves Sony and Konami will not even think of going against that (Japanese publishers/developers don´t think the same way that western one do), rumor say that the only reason MGS Rising is going to the 360 is because Microsoft paid them to.
MGS Rising is going to the 360 not because Microsoft paid Konami, but mostly because it's Konami's cash-in on Metal Gear Solid 4 and really isn't being worked on by the main Kojima Productions team (which went to work on Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker).

You can say that Final Fantasy and Resident Evil went to the 360, and that´s true, but Kojima is a God to many (not to me, but still), and no one will even think of going against him.
Kojima does whatever he want.
I can see Kojima wanting to take a multiplatform route with Metal Gear Solid. I don't think it's guaranteed, but I wouldn't at all be surprised to see it happen.

Kojima LOVES Western gaming, there was a write on him and it said how he was addicted to Left 4 Dead (on the 360) and he loves it so much maybe he should "quit being Japanese".

Then there is this where he said Japanese developers have "lost" compared to US Developers.

MGS Rising is going to t he 360 because Kojina/Konami are not dumb. It will sell more on two consoles than it would one.

Yeah, there are going to be some massive changes within the Japanese game industry within the next couple of years mostly because Kojima is right, they're lost. Asides from a few select developers like Nintendo EAD, Level-5, Team ICO, and Kojima Productions, Japanese game development has become really stagnant. Square-Enix is the best example of this.

I think we're going to see major mergers within the Japanese video game industry like the Konami-Capcom one rumored many years ago, Japanese companies acquire more Western developers like what Nintendo did with Retro Studios, Sony did with Naughty Dog and Media Molecule, or what Square-Enix did with Eidos, and some just flat out shut down.

Is anybody else hoping they announce Skype as a feature??,I already cam with people on my MSN messenger list and I'd use Skype even much more,Able to use my TV screen with my family to cam with other family& friends is great to me,MS bought Skype last month and so perhaps they could work out a deal to use it on the 360 by the end of the year!?!?

Oh i'm sure they will definitely be putting Skype on the 360

Skype was confirmed to be added to Xbox the day Microsoft bought Skype.

I hope they update the XBL party system to include Skype friends. Oh that'd be epic.

I can't wait for the new Alan Wake game reveal, I'm sorta glad it'll be a XBLA game. I don't want Remedy to go all COD on the series, I don't even think MS would let them do that...yet.

I don't think that the game did well enough to warrant an Alan Wake 2.

Yeah, it's been confirmed that the next Alan Wake game is an XBLA title. Perfect move IMO, Alan Wake just wasn't successful enough to warrant a full on sequel, but it was still extremely successful critically and successful enough financially to allow providing more of the series for the fans.

Best of both worlds, fans are satisfied with more Alan Wake, and Microsoft wins with the next game having a smaller budget and don't have to put up with the promotion and retail of a full fledged game.

One of the big problems with Alan Wake's not being successful is that they released it the same day as Red Dead Redemption. Horrible idea.

I'll definitely get Alan Wake at some point. I see it as a solid 2nd tier title (Red Dead being top tier).

I played it a little bit and what I played I'm not sure if I liked. I always wanted to give it a second chance... but I'm waiting for it to drop really low in price.

Well, Alan Wake recently passed 1 million sales making it a sleeper hit. If MS picks a better release date next time (sometime in the summer or in October, perhaps?), I think a sequel could do much better in sales.

Wait, it sounds like Batman:AC will have exclusive content on 360. WB giving exclusive stuff....to Microsoft?

The end of the world IS coming...it's just delayed.

Spartans Unite.. I'm such a Halo geek. It will probably take the show for me regardless of the clip length/information, lol.
