That said, Nintendo is going to blow the competition away tomorrow.

I think its going to be tremendous. That rumored Pokemon RPG online made by GameFreak for the Beem/Nintendo is going to lay waste to everything.

No XMB update info? Shucks.

That's the biggest problem Sony had with their show. With PSN down, I would have expected them to use the opportunity to give PSN such a huge boost with features that people have been begging for, for years now along with new applications such as Last.fm, YouTube, Google Chrome, and NBA League Pass.

By the way, if that Sly 4 trailer was in engine, it looked beautiful.

I seriously thought they were going to go there when they started talking about the online capabilities of the Vita. I mean.. It has XGVC for cryin' out loud...

Price is only $250 for WiFi, $300 for 3G. Considering some of those games looked like they could be PS3 titles, that's damn reasonable.
I'd say extremely reasonable. I was surprised. It's priced to compete with Nintendo and for once they might actually have a chance of dethroning them in the handheld market if they play their cards right.

I think I might have been the only one NOT surprised by the price. I've been saying since the Vita was shown off (then, NGP) that Sony wants to deal a blow to Nintendo... that they learned from the PS3 pricing mistake and they did.

Eff Sly 4? Eff you buddy :argh:

I deserved that. :(

Only thing holding it back is the lack of disc based games. I don't know why Sony is so intent on pushing downloadable games on their handhelds. Make it an option, but sell discs as well. There is a reason that the Go failed.

I feel the exact same way. Sony learned from the PSP and PS3 that they have to price competitively, especially with the Vita on account of the iPhone radically changing the handheld industry.

That medieval move game looked awful.
Is it on-rails, because for what i could see, he was not using a navigator?
And what about having a sword AND shield with just one move?
Shouldn´t it be two, one for each?

IMO, it looked a lot worst than any Kinect game on the MS press conference.

And i have the strange feeling that Medieval Move was once the game called Sorcery

You're damn right you did. Sly Cooper was one of the best games last generation. :cmad:

The lack of physical media hurt the Go! but the UMD drive was also detrimental to the PSP. It sucked up a lot of battery life, the medium outside of video games was a total bomb, and I think developers weren't fond of them either. Besides, Sony says that they still intend to sell physical games with the Vita through NVG cards.

The touch screen and motion controls for it actually looks more interesting and useful for core games than kinect or move.

What Sony should do is make me interested in buying the digital versions of their games on Vita. Price them 10-20 dollars cheaper then the physical games. Then I may care... Until then, I'll just pick up the cards.

My biggest problem with the PlayStation Portable was that none of the games for it appealed to me. I played the Mega Man Classic and X remakes, and...that was it. It's sold really well, yet my disinterest plus the constant recharging killed it for me. It sits in my cedar chest, unused.

Transfarring between the PlayStation Three and Vita is cool, but if they can't grab me with their content, I'll pass on it.

Vita looks really appealing but the price will probably match that of a home console.
We already know the price of it. Its base model is cheaper than the PS3

The focus was on getting the damn thing up and running properly with the most advance security features in place, NOT do a cosmetic change and put in features which they simply did not have time to test out within a little over a month. That would have been a horrible idea.

Yeah it had too high an expensive price point

The all cloud between Vita and the PS3 is very cool, but it´s a logical step.

I´m going to wait for the Nintendo press conference and the games for the 3DS before saying that the PSVita is better.

BTW, imo, PSVita is an awful name

What killed the Go was availability. Making games downloadable for it a week after disc release was a bad move.

The 3DS can hold its own, but again, what will differentiate the two is content. Nintendo kept its lead in the handheld market by coming out with lots of games worth playing.

Anyone have any links to where I can download the three confernces today?

I'm a huge Nintendo fanboy but between Uncharted, Resistance, LittleBigPlanet, and a Hideo Kojima title, I'm a bit more excited for the PSV over the 3DS.
