I think it's awesome that in 2015 the box office title was between a Spielberg baby and a Lucas baby. I could just see them at the ranch having a drink thinking about what they've done for film.

I am having a bit of fun with SPIDEY. I adore her, and this is a joke that goes back to our discussion on GotG and its box office. I never like to predict hard numbers because there really is no way to gauge the public interest. SPIDEY is far braver then me in that regard. I didn't have the guts to predict the OW record because of the time of the year. But the domestic all time record, $2b WW and the title for 2015? Yeah, I was on that train for a while. Looking pretty good right now too.

I thought I was genuinely good at box office predictions until 2015 decimated my record! Would never have seen Jurassic World's performance coming. I was way over on AoU although I think I would have been closer if I'd known the reception it was going to get. I had no idea F7 could do those crazy numbers in China. And before TF's trailer and reviews I definitely wouldn't have been guessing at numbers like we're seeing now!

‘Force Awakens’ Poised To Beat ‘Spider-Man 2’s All-Time Monday Record Of $27.7M

It’s not going to stop. After breaking the weekend, opening day, Sunday, and Thursday night records Star Wars: The Force Awakens is looking at taking the Monday title with $30M-plus per non Disney analysts. Afternoon figures for Episode VII are strong ranging in the $17M-$22M range. As opposed to Friday when there were only 4.8% schools off, today that figure has blown up to 74%. Force Awakens’ Monday is set to take down Spider-Man 2‘s all-time Monday record of $27.7M which it has held since July 5, 2004. The next highest Mondays belong to Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull‘s 2008 Memorial Day ($26.8M) and Jurassic World ($25.3M).

I think $130m is a lock at this point. If it does $150m+ , you have to start considering a billion domestic not being crazy. That would put it around $500m in 10 days.

While I am surprise that spider man 2 still had a record with the movie being 11 and a half like years old and no 3d.

The thing with China though is from what I've heard the original trilogy is actually not very well known there as it never got an official release. The prequel trilogy is actually better known there.

That is interesting I guess china is a big x factor then. How while did the fast and the freouces make in china before the last one? I know 7 did great but was it a explotion or did the another ones do great to?

I would think that is just about a lock isn't it? I mean the movie is already at like 526 million and it should make no less then what another 400-450 in just USA. That would already put it around a billion + what ever the rest of those places make in that time and what ever china makes?
