If I was her husband or one of her kids I wouldn't be too impressed with this story.

Welllllll.....I wouldn't have thrown that rock into the ocean. That bad boy would have been sold a long time ago. I might have been riding horses on the beach and drinking beer, but it would have been MY beach and the beer would have been from Europe or a Microbrewery.

Per boxoffice.com, time to let it go:

With $64.8M added globally on Wednesday, THE FORCE AWAKENS stands at $1.293B -- surpassing FROZEN for #8 all-time. ‪#‎StarWars‬ ‪#‎TheForceAwakens‬

It looks like it might be losing steam slower OS than DOM. That's about a 43/57 split DOM/OS. I think the BO up to now has been almost 50/50. That's just one day though....

Is there a place that has daily DOM and OS? I'd like to see if there's any trends.

If so it's good for global box office potential.

I haven't seen anyplace that collects daily overseas numbers, though there are some individual country sites that have daily numbers. the-numbers.com is pretty current with weekly updates:

Overall the split is about 48.5/51.5 DOM/OS, but it's hard to say if it's a trend or not. If we had them for the last week or daily going forward for a week, it would give us a better idea.

Where did you get the today's info? Do they archive the pages?

Can't remember if we had this yet with all the other discussion lol

Star Wars: The Force Awakens took in a higher than projected $28.1M on Wednesday, down only 4.7% from its Tuesday figure of $29.5M. That brings its domestic total to $629.0 million, Disney reported this morning. The new cume also makes Star Wars Episode VII the highest-grossing film domestically in Disney’s history, surpassing in 13 days the $623.4M gross of Marvel’s The Avengers from 2012.

The Force Awakens‘ running total also secures its current (likely brief) position as the No. 4 movie of all-time domestic releases, ahead of previous occupant of that slot Marvel’s The Avengers. If it keeps up this pace, The Force Awakens will probably cross $700M on Friday or Saturday, leapfrogging Jurassic World and Titanic to become No. 2 among all-time domestic movies. That puts Star Wars within toppling distance of Avatar, currently the No. 1 domestic grosser with $760.5M.

is it possible for this to get to 1 billion domestic?

I say yes. Most others say no. No one really knows for sure (Even though I've said it's a lock :woot: ). We'll really have to see how it holds up over the next 5-6 weeks. That's gonna tell the tale. I think it's going to hold up better than most others do.

It's possible, but still a long shot at this stage, imo.

chug. chug. chug. chug. chug. chug. chug. chug..........

Have a great new year's everyone (who hasn't already had one). And special thanks to Flick for the vid suggestions.

You're very welcome, Cali. Happy New Year, and here's to a 2016 full of even more wonderful media to discover. And to Star Wars officially being crowned the new worldwide box office king. :D

So, does it pass Avatar on Sunday Monday or Tuesday...I guess that's the only real question left for the record.

Not yet. It's a holiday weekend so reporting will probably be slow. Consensus guesses are in the very low 20s FWIW. Happy new year!

I still have three hours sweetie, but Happy New Years to you as well.

So I'll give you a virtual kiss your time?:cwink:
I don't know if my heart can take it:

lol thinks you probly hate that I have amazing spider man 2 on my list though. But yeah spiderman 2 still has the best action in a CBM ever including the train fight and also harry and peters relationship is great and dock ock. So may things that spiderman 2 does while that is why I have it has my user name and because spider man is my favorite superhero.

BOT's guy rth finally chimed in, looks like around $23 million for NYE. Good number. Bring on the weekend!
