Edge of Tomorrow 2, meanwhile, is being written by Joe Shrapnel and Anna Waterhouse and overseen by the first films scribe Christopher McQuarrie, who confirmed Liman will return as director. He was asked for an update on the sequel and was both coy and grandiose.
Its going to revolutionize how people make sequels. It really will.
When asked to elaborate, he said:
I cant, but it will. You mark my words.
So movie around Angel of Verdun? No Cruise? Or Cruise in different role.
Doug Liman says that it is both a sequel and a prequel.
so....... WB are really going through with this? did the first even break even?

I think people underestimate how much of a businessman Cruise really is under all that stuff.
......the problem is the price tag, the first cost nearly 200 million without the 100+million marketing budget included, are WB really going to shelve out that amount of money again based on cruises hunch? The movie was very good but cruise isn't a major draw in the states anymore. Honestly this sounds very risky but hey if the movie is made and it's as good as the first one then that's all that really matters...... to the fans.
The first movie is one of the best and most entertaining movies of 2014. Hope they can recapture the charm and quality instead of making it like the sequels to Pirates of the Carribean, Jack Reacher, and Taken.
WB partnered with Village Roadshow and RatPac-Dune Entertainment on Edge of Tomorrow, they weren't shouldering the whole budget like their HP films. If the sequel gets greenlit, WB will partner up again and keep a tighter leash on the budget.
