Mileage may vary on the Thor subplot.

Brother you have put it more eloquently then I ever could. I agree with all your points but the ones that really stand out are when you say there are low stakes, a better movie could have been made and that it feels like a first draft.
I scored it same as you but I feel like I enjoyed it more then you oddly enough. People will make up their own minds offcourse but I'm awestruck at all the reviews calling it the best superhero movie ever made etc. Rising expectations like that might end up backfiring on the long term.
Good, now I looked cool packing my stuff and leaving the instant the screen went dark. There is no end credit scene.
I enjoyed IW on surface level (except for Wakanda and wandavision parts), but quickly forgot it and have no desire to watch it again. I wonder how EG will feel in comparison. Phase 3 was very forgettable overall.
Actually brains and emotions are the most interesting elements of it for me. I don't care that much about action. I like character interaction, dialogues. But hearing that the film lacks stakes is disheartening.I hold IW in a higher regard then you so I can't imagine you like EG much at all to be honest. One reviewer described it as IW being the muscle and EG being the brains. I think that's apt as EG focuses a lot more on the emotional stuff and doesn't really have that much action imo.

Plus time travel is almost always a cluster**** unless rules are strictly defined and followed.
I don't even have to bother with a review because this basically sums it upThe biggest crime in this film is there feels like there are no stakes. Infinity War delivered a genuinely threatening character, and yet when it becomes evident that the main focus of the film is time travel all the air is sucked out of the movie. To put it bluntly, there doesn't feel like there's a build up to anything. And when things do start looking bad for the Avengers it comes about so suddenly that it feels kinda meaningless. When you think of the great battles on film part of what makes them so good is the build up to the final confrontation, and this film lacks that. It spends so much time ill-defining what its own rules of time travel are that it forgets to build any tension for its finale.

. Killing IW Thanos in the first 15 minutes was... bold and for shock value. I mean it makes sense that he wasn't in the movie THAT much (as much as IW) because they clearly wanted the heroes and their experiences and relationships to be the main focus as for many it'll be the last time we see them, and have to take into consideration 2014 Thanos was also a mysterious character... which leads me to one of the most satisfying parts of the film: Seeing Gamora and Nebula as daughter fighting under Thanos's rule FINALLY. It was everything. We didn't get one Nebula, but TWO Nebulas. She was given justice.
Literally left a hole in my heart. I can't help but worry when I watch her appearances in CA TWS, CW, AOU etc I won't feel anything but sadness for her knowing what she will ultimately sacrifice. I am literally heartbroken, but I'm glad her death wasn't forgotten and was brought up a few times. So basically it's mostly great fanservice instead of being a proper great movie?
No, it is a great movie with earned fanservicey moments. So basically it's mostly great fanservice instead of being a proper great movie?
I'll be interested to hear your thoughts on Endgame. If you thought Civil War was a huge step down from Winter Soldier there is a chance you'll think the distance between IW and EG is a god damn chasm!
For those who have seen it, is there any end credit scene? Don’t need to know what it is just to check so I won’t look stupid sitting through the credits only to see nothing. Thanks.
