For those who have seen it, is there any end credit scene? Don’t need to know what it is just to check so I won’t look stupid sitting through the credits only to see nothing. Thanks.

There is no end credit scene.

Brother you have put it more eloquently then I ever could. I agree with all your points but the ones that really stand out are when you say there are low stakes, a better movie could have been made and that it feels like a first draft.

I scored it same as you but I feel like I enjoyed it more then you oddly enough. People will make up their own minds offcourse but I'm awestruck at all the reviews calling it the best superhero movie ever made etc. Rising expectations like that might end up backfiring on the long term.

I'm equally surprised to be honest. I was fully expected a lower score than Infinity War when I walked out of the theatre but it's scoring higher.

I enjoyed IW on surface level (except for Wakanda and wandavision parts), but quickly forgot it and have no desire to watch it again. I wonder how EG will feel in comparison. Phase 3 was very forgettable overall.

I hold IW in a higher regard then you so I can't imagine you like EG much at all to be honest. One reviewer described it as IW being the muscle and EG being the brains. I think that's apt as EG focuses a lot more on the emotional stuff and doesn't really have that much action imo.

Actually brains and emotions are the most interesting elements of it for me. I don't care that much about action. I like character interaction, dialogues. But hearing that the film lacks stakes is disheartening.
Plus time travel is almost always a cluster**** unless rules are strictly defined and followed.

One of the concerns I had going in was that they wouldn't focus on the repercussions of the snap and would gloss over the impact it's had on the world. I couldn't have been more wrong about that so it sounds like you'll like that aspect of it.

Character arcs, character interaction, and action are the most important parts for me.

The biggest crime in this film is there feels like there are no stakes. Infinity War delivered a genuinely threatening character, and yet when it becomes evident that the main focus of the film is time travel all the air is sucked out of the movie. To put it bluntly, there doesn't feel like there's a build up to anything. And when things do start looking bad for the Avengers it comes about so suddenly that it feels kinda meaningless. When you think of the great battles on film part of what makes them so good is the build up to the final confrontation, and this film lacks that. It spends so much time ill-defining what its own rules of time travel are that it forgets to build any tension for its finale.
I don't even have to bother with a review because this basically sums it up :applaud

Nevertheless, it was an excellent film. It's everything I expected it to be but like every movie it has it's ups and downs. I don't want to harp on the cons too much because it's a film that needs many watches to fully grasp and appreciate, but after first watch I'll say I do prefer Infinity War more as a movie: the structure, storylines are much more organised, it's more quotable, and the motive of stopping Thanos was much more gripping than undoing a desolate world
which they hardly showed. I mean they showed a brighter sun and a few birds but that didn't suffice.
As a fan who has grown up with these characters the ending was satisfying and very emotional. I am excited to watch it again just for the last 45 minutes. My random thoughts (pros and cons):
In my opinion, Thanos was reduced to a secondary character which some suspected was inevitable :-)cwink:). Killing IW Thanos in the first 15 minutes was... bold and for shock value. I mean it makes sense that he wasn't in the movie THAT much (as much as IW) because they clearly wanted the heroes and their experiences and relationships to be the main focus as for many it'll be the last time we see them, and have to take into consideration 2014 Thanos was also a mysterious character... which leads me to one of the most satisfying parts of the film: Seeing Gamora and Nebula as daughter fighting under Thanos's rule FINALLY. It was everything. We didn't get one Nebula, but TWO Nebulas. She was given justice.
Tilda's scene was awesome. She killed it, her realisation was so dramatic and enthralling. A memorable scene.
As for Natasha... there are no words. Scarlett's best performance as Black Widow and really conveyed her progress from trained assassin to changed hero perfectly. As you can tell by my avatar she's always been my fave and Scarlett always my favourite actress along with Jennifer Lawrence so seeing her dead was... :wall: Literally left a hole in my heart. I can't help but worry when I watch her appearances in CA TWS, CW, AOU etc I won't feel anything but sadness for her knowing what she will ultimately sacrifice. I am literally heartbroken, but I'm glad her death wasn't forgotten and was brought up a few times.
Tony's death was something I dreaded and hoped wouldn't happen once we saw he now has a daughter. The light going out, Stark struggling, Gwyneth trying to be positive in front of him was so perfectly executed. His scenes with his father brought a lot of closure and a bittersweet pre-ending for him. Funeral scene was heartbreaking but everything any fan would want for closure. Truly taken out of a comic book page.
There is so much more to unpack but to summarise it was a great comic book fan movie like everyone said walking out of the world premiere. As hours go on after seeing it I do want to watch it again in the next coming days.

So basically it's mostly great fanservice instead of being a proper great movie?

No, it is a great movie with earned fanservicey moments.
Some of this moments make more sense in the context of the whole saga, but at this point it is part of these MCU movies that they are not completely self contained.
I wouldn't hold that against it.

Well, I've never been the biggest MCU enthusiast. Several films stand out as they work as proper movies on their own and are the exception, but generally speaking I've always found Feige's work to be way too much on the fanservice-y and episodic side, instead of being memorable, cinematic movies. Feige should really hold on to his cap and let the filmmakers breathe somewhat more on these things.
I did like Infinity War more than I expected, though, considering how I didn't really like Civil War too much and thought it was a huge step down for the Russos after the had shown SO much promise with The Winter Soldier.

I'll be interested to hear your thoughts on Endgame. If you thought Civil War was a huge step down from Winter Soldier there is a chance you'll think the distance between IW and EG is a god damn chasm!

Yeah, I'm very curious myself. To be fair, though, I don't hold Infinity War in such high regard as The Winter Soldier, so I may be less disappointed this time around.

My favorite MCU movies are, by the way:

Iron Man
IRON MAN 3
Guardians of the Galaxy
Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2
Ant-Man
Avengers: Age of Ultron
Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Thor: Ragnarok

No

Look, a lot is going to be written about this movie, and a lot of people will defend it to the hilt...

...but
”We’ll fix everything with time travel”
is very lazy storytelling. It just is.

Having said that, the movie is also an excellent culmination of 10 years of cinema, with some truly awesome moments.

Cap
wielding Mjolnir and “I am Iron Man”
were incredible.

It gets 8/10 for me, for lazy storytelling, but fantastic emotion and the climax of a decade’s work.

Not quite sure people need to defend the things they like (maybe except a few things let’s not go there) least of all a movie that is laughing it’s way to the bank whether people love it or hate it with the intensity of a thousand suns.

For me, it doesn't have to better than IW, but, I hope it's at least as good.

Without going into spoilers, will Hulk fans be more satisfied with his role here than his extremely poor one in IW?

Good 7,5

And i don't like so much mcu-worlds (i prefer Fox mutants).

Sorry!
