They told a great one and done story, they're keeping it moving in Part II, just move on to another character instead.

I agree. IMO the only reasons to continue would be plot reasons which isn't enough. This worked so well because it was character driven and Oz had a complete arc that there is no coming back from.

It can't be The Sopranos where it's like Tony always trying to reconcile his two lives and dangling the mirage of redemption. Oz now has everything, and yet he has nothing. He's fully transformed into a true supervillain, I'm good with him just being a more powerful figure in the movies from here out. After seeing how great this was, I like the idea of several one and done spinoffs to flesh out other characters. Let's not oversaturate though.

And my thing is, they're creating a rich universe here, if they must, you just feature Oz as a supporting character in the next supervillain/misc. character's show and go from there. But yeah just use this medium to flesh out other characters.

Seeing how amazing Penguin was makes me not want a season 2 actually, this obviously leads to Part II and that should be "enough" Hopefully a Catwoman limited series or movie is the next move!

Batman needs to DEAL with Penguin! Poor Francis bro Maybe she'll cameo in Part II after Penguin gets stopped. Just to wheel her to the hospital

as soon as we saw Vic in the same hospital room with Oz crying and begging to his mom to be proud of him, i knew Vic was gonna be a goner in the next scene.

guys like Oz, throughout history, after they've attained power, kill those closest to them that helped them get to the top. they get paranoid bout them knowing their "weaknesses."

i think this nicely wraps up everything to lead into The Batman part 2.
there's no need for a season 2 for The Penguin.

I see this going very similar to Peaky Blinders - remember how Thomas Shelby starts as street level mob, then rises up all the way to politician?

Can easily see same thing happening here. Oz deepening his contacts, his roots, his influence.

Like said, Oz always wants more. We saw in the episode: He got a taste of the hammer, of sitting in that Mayor chair. We saw how he looked up to Bella....

His ever greediness will naturally lead him the way. He won't be just satisfied with commanding from the shadows. He wants the broad daylight.

It's too late, he is already craving it deep down, and that feeling is only gonna get bigger from now on.

The one person who knows more than us regarding this universe's story is Matt. If he has a reason to do a season 2 of Penguin (maybe the story of his election campaign post Part II? Who knows), then why on Earth would I say no?

And as far as I can tell, it's Matt saying he's currently having those early talks. The man could come out with a movie about the Twins from the Iceberg Lounge and I'd be down

Honestly I'm hoping the success of this show means we don't have to settle for just one series in between movies. Imagine getting three series between Part II and Part III.

I'm genuinely just down for whatever story Matt Reeves wants to tell with this universe. 1 show, 3 shows, 20 shows, Matt showed me why I should hop on this train with Batman 1 and I'm just here for whatever ride it turns out to be.

I still suspect that if we get both Hush and the Court of Owls in Part 2, they'll wind up combining Thomas Elliott with the Lincoln March character from CoO.

It's curious that they seem to be hinting towards a Selina & Sophia partnership; it's a change from the source material but it makes sense in the context of this universe.

Really hoping this means we're either getting a Catwoman series, or solo film.
