The Penguin Episode 8: A Great or Little Thing (Spoiler Thread)

If Sofia were to show up in The Batman Part II, I wouldn't be surprised if it's nothing more than a cameo. I mean, I'd love for her to get as much screen time, but as this isn't required homework for the next movie and the plot will probably be something bigger than this mob war, I feel like her potential film appearance would have the same run time as, say, Joker's scene with Riddler in the first film.

I'll be happy to be wrong, though. And again, this is assuming she shows up in the films.

I’m thinking we’re going to get a Catwoman series in between part 2 and 3 and Sofia will factor heavily into that. I do hope she shows up in Part 2 though; I don’t expect her role to be huge (it sounds like Penguin’s won’t be either) but it would be cool if she has some memorable scenes in Arkham or elsewhere.

It's so sick that Penguin's look going forward is probably gonna be the full top hat Mr. Monopoly outfit. Would never have guessed that. Perfect. Batman's going to be such a gigantic dick to him about it.

Almost forgot to comment on this. I honestly never thought they would give Oz the full comic book Penguin look but they did and it’s PERFECT. I can’t wait to see him running for mayor or city councilman dressed like that. It’s crazy how goofy things like that CAN work in this universe if you take time to make them work. Awesome way to end his arc.

What a great finale. Was a little disappointed we didn't got a proper Batman mention, still find odd everything happening and not a single mention, but the batsignal at the end was beautiful. Pretty good setup for Part II.
Loved Sophia smiling at her half-sister's letter (she deserves to be happy lol). Vic's ending was brutal. Wasn't really expecting. Oz's dancing with Eve got me confused, at first I thought he was allucinating with his Ma, but is even weirder how it played.
Overall, this is cinema. 9.5/10.

I need the opening of Part II to basically be Dredd condensed into 10 minutes with Batman laying siege to Penguin's penthouse all so he can essentially walk into that top floor and remind Penguin that he's on his radar now

Even though I'm open to other showrunners, I would not be upset, and would happily welcome, Lauren LeFranc if she ended up running another show in the Reeves-verse.

Yeah, I don't want her to spread herself too thin and get burned out, but she did such a fantastic job with The Penguin that I'd be curious to see what vision she brought to another character or show.

A crude, vile, but very charismatic grifter who lacks any real morals and convictions and stabs his own allies in the back... yep. The parallels with Oz and the Orange Man are pretty eerie. The timing of the finale with the election results is crazy.

I'm just nitpicking and maybe I've been watching too much pro-wrestling, but after rewatching that heartbreaking scene, Vic could've easily reversed Oz's chokehold into a suplex.
