The Dark Knight Epitome Scene for Joker?

No need to.

This isn't the thread to break off into a Joker debate.

Stay on topic please

Then I would say you were the first to go off topic. This thread is to list scenes that one felt epitomized the Joker best and you failed to do that. If you feel nothing epitomized the character then don't bother posting in this thread.

Now, back on topic, it's extremely tough to pick just one scene. My faves include the interrogation scene, the meeting with the mob bosses and his ending speech.

When he's falling off the building at the end. Laughing because he thought he made Batman break his one rule. Thinking that he won the battle.

There were two parts I was like "holly god, I'm getting the same feeling that I get when I read the comics",

When batman has him by the neck and the joker says, "Your going to have to play my little game inorder to save one of them" and wiggles is eyebrows tauntingly,

second (and I actually kind of welled up inside when I saw this part in thearters for the 4th time today becuase I'm a chump and love the joker a little too much)
,...when he's whaleing on Batsy with the pipe twards the end.

I was like "be still my heart" X) <3

Oh no you didn...

I would love to know if you are joking or not?...seriously.

But anyways,
It's true that all of them were well done...it is so hard to choose (even though I already did) it's almost like I second guess my choices once I start reading everyone elses choices...because than I remember the other scenes, and how good they were

We didn't see anything even close to the comic book Joker

You know what I have to say to this response: "FLAWLESS VICTORY!"

Saved me the trouble....

As for the epitome scene for Joker tough to choose just one so I'll just say from the first time we hear his slow creepy laugh to the last "speech" he gives while hanging upside down. It was not only what the Joker said but his actions as well, when he would fight Batman he was real frantic like a rabid dog.

For the comics...Possibly when he was clapping for Gordon as he became Commissioner!

For TAS...When he was with the mob bosses and pulled out the bogus grenades on the inside of his jacket!

...Although every scene with The Joker was just utterly pure gold!

when he's whaleing on Batsy with the pipe twards the end.
QFT! Like I said from the first time we hear and see him to the last scene he's in and everything in between.

All of them epitomized the Joker. The robbery showed his intelligence, the pencil trick showed his homicidal humor, the video showed his warped sadism, the interrogation showed his philosophy, etc.
That pretty sums up what I as thinking

Like I said in the other thread:

Shane is full of good posts:)

The whole sequence where he crashed the party. It shows his intelligence in taking out the Commissioner & the Judge at the same time. It showed his comedic side (and his weirdo side) when he spills the drink, then takes a sip, and it shows his scary and menacing side when he confronts Rachel

"It's a funny world we live in. Speaking of funny, do you know how I got these scars? "

This line...To me...Is just beautiful...Might be the epitome line for The Joker...

...Maybe not...But kinda sums up the mind of his!

When the Joker was laughing hysterically as Batman beat him in the interrogation room... I knew that this was exactly the crazy villain I wanted. He may not look exactly like the Joker from the comics, but Heath captured the spirit of the character so well.
Honestly....its all about the voice for me. It's as if Heath creeped into my dreams and figured out exactly how I wanted him to sound. It's uncanny...I've seen the movie six times now, and every time he says "look at you go!" Im blown away.

^I have to agree with MaceB, the laughing while taking the beating, crazy, masochistic, insane, amazing

It's not neccessarily the epitome scene for the Joker...but next time you see the movie...

Pay close attention to the scene where the elevator opens and he says:

"We made it!"

The music and intensity of the scenes leading up to that scene is nuts.

Loeb takes a drink, Judge opens the letter, Bruce puts Harv in a sleeper hold...Bruce takes that goons gun apart...the intensity BUILDS AND BUILDS!...the music is GREAT...

and than: "WE MADE IT"

It made me burst out into laughter the first time I saw that part...lol, it really is hilarious

Definitely the interrogation where he was laughing while taking a beating

I agree not a lot of people heard this part but I laughed when he said it. I've been curious though as to what he meant. Did he mean we made it to the party on time? or did he mean we made it through the elevator ride?

HAHAHAHA!!!!! Never thought of it like that....That would be hilarious if he meant it like that.

But I'm almost positive he meant: We made it to the party

(and I agree that alot of people missed this part, because the scenes before it are so intense and so quick that you are caught up in paying attention to them...and than the Joker just slips in last minute...)

There was one thing I wish we could have seen a bit more of...

and that was Joker/Heath laughing...

I wish at the end when he was hanging upside down...that he let loose a bit more and that they showed him laguhing for a bit longer...because...watching it now, you know that is the last scene you will ever see the Joker...and it would have just been great to hear him let loose for a good 10 seconds...

Although Im sure they were saving some more craziness for the third film, considering Heath was signed for 2 movies...because Im positive we would have seen Joker in a straight jacket in the 3rd...(That was something I was looking forward to seeing)...:(

donk, you really are the most negative whiny arse-hole ive seen on the whole SHH boards, sort it out.

Anyway i think the scenes that epitomised the joker was all the scenes where hes broadcasting live or ringing up Gotham News. In nearly all the comics which predominatly feature the joker hes always broadcasting threats and what not. The scene with BriDog is just pure Joker to me.

thats the best part about it... Nolan and ledger did their homework...

all the scenes are great.. thinking about it.. i don't think there is a scene where the joker isn't spot on... it has to be one of the best villain portrayals ever... comic or not.. now being from source material.. it will be hard to top..

and don't take anything away from Aaron... they did an amazingly great job with two-face as well .. they were both done so well..

my favorite shot is still the one with joker hanging out of the window of the police car.. no words, hardly any music.. just the wind going through his hair... awesome.

MAN! I was JUST thinking about that scene, when he was hanging out of the car. It was done so PERFECTLY! The eeriness with there being no sound or anything. VERY dramatic IMO and to me, one of the most IMPORTANT scenes in the movie. Because, it makes you stop inside. Just for a moment and think about what this Joker really is. It gave me a sense of dread. One of the COOLEST scenes in any movie I have ever scene (and I am an old man at 43 : ) and it was just so simple. Yet, to me, so very powerful. Glad you mentioned it.
