Eragon

Do you really think that everyone who saw LOTR and Harry Potter (to use major examples) read the books?

I sure didn't.

Saphira looked pretty good!
Too bad there was no sound:(

I have feeling it will be something for LOTR like Stormbreaker for James Bond :down

Ah, I see the 'jumping to conclusions' has begun.

Not by me per se,im just guessing what i think Cine meant,i'm still waiting to see a full HD trailer with some dialogue,i need to see if the lead kid can act which that trailer leak with temp track doesn't show

Yeah, I wasn't talking about you, it's just amazing to see people pan a movie on nothing more than a camcorder video pointed at a tv playing the trailer without sound.

They really aren't going to pull out all the stops for a movie based on a novel written by a kid.

That's just how I view this whole thing.
Judging by the trailer, it seems that way to me.

I think Eragon will be better then many people are expecting but it won't be as good as Rings in story or Box Office. If its successful then maybe Eldest the sequel will be bigger for Eldest was a more interesting book.

Saphira poster...

Cool, but I can't help seeing the dragon with it's mouth wide open due to the thorns under the chin looking like teeth and the smoke around the neck.

Cool poster.

This will probably be another one of thsoe film adaptations where I end up reading the book after seeing the movie.

I read Eragon after hearing about them making the movie. I had heard of it when it first came out for it had made good numbers against Harry Potter 5 i believe. But i never read it until i heard about then making a movie.

Many did not like the catsing but when i heard that Malcovich and Irons were attached i was more interested. Like i say it could be better then we expect for it does have a fan base. Not Rings or Potter size but big enough.

I think that if you don't compare it to LOTR, Harry Potter etc it makes a big difference to your opinion. Sure, most people who see this will have seen LOTR and i'm not sure what guidance rating this will have but it may appeal to a new generation. I saw the first LOTR with my 7 yr old cousin, there may be kids going to see this without LOTR for a point of reference ie, todays 7yr olds.

I had never heard of it either until I saw a trailer on Tv - It doesn't seem to be hugely popular in Uk. I've heard mixed reviews of it but it sounds like something that might be pretty cool. i reckon the movie will get more people reading in the UK though so its probably good for the book in that respect - I'm not sure there is a huge fan base here.

Those posters are wicked. Obviousley there is the Irons Malkovic casting - but I think Robert Carlyse looks the best in the group poster.

Rachel Weisz Cast For Voice Of Saphira?
Posted by Mike on November 8 @ 8:43 PM | comments - 86
Shur'tugal now has reason to believe that Rachel Weisz, known for movies such as The Constant Gardener and Constantine, has been cast for the voice of Saphira in the Eragon movie. Weisz's name appeared on the bottom of the most recent Eragon movie poster (her name has been boxed in red), with the word "with" appearing before her name, indicating that her voice, and not image, will be in the movie. Weisz's voice, a female voice with a British accent, is exactly what Fox has said they were looking for.

Fox has kept quiet about the voice for Saphira until now, having not made any comments. When asked to confirm or comment, our Fox representative told us that Fox has no comment at this time, however, we were told to expect an official announcement soon. We'll update you as soon as we know more

I heard a rumor it was Helna Bonham Carter but it does look ever more like it will be Rachel.

If its exactly what they were looking for then so be it. There are a lot of English voices in this movie - think they are going for old england king george and dragon kind of feel to it. Gives it more credibility I think
