Bethesda Fallout 4

I don't think 'waiting 5 hours while your companion takes potshots at Kellog' was what people meant when they said they wanted a pacifist run.

You can't finish Fallout 4 without killing. Click bait title.

Not completely, no. I mean the guy still killed lots of people, he just found a loop hole so his character never did it directly. Pretty clever!

I really do hope Bethesda take these criticisms into account for future games, it'd be nice to see more open quests, characterization and ability to effect the world by the time the next Elder Scrolls rolls around. It won't surprise me if they don't, I mean they make a ton of money either way, but we can dream!

As long as you have stimpaks aplenty then you can run through most things as long as you avoid the dlc.

SPOILER FILLED RANT HERE:

So I've logged in about 80 hours into my first character. I've discovered almost every location, have most of the bobbleheads, and have reached level 50. So i decide: Let's do the main quest finally. Figure I might as well finish that. So i go after it. I find the Institute, listen to their side, figure out the plot twists, all of it. And then I have to pick a side. And my character feels morally good so I go with the Railroad because synths are people too and stuff, yeah, whatever.

SO...I'm doing one of the final missions. The Brotherhood has attacked the Railroad HQ and me, Deacon, and Tinker Tom are on our way in a stolen vertibrid to the Prydwen to blow it the **** up. I kill the WHOLE ****ING PRYDWEN, set up the explosives, hop back into the vertibird and we're off. The Prydwen blows up in a glorious fireball, wiping out almost the entire airport below it. It's beautiful.

Tinker Tom, the pilot, mentions that we have to get out of the vertibird so that he can hide it. We hope out, remnants of the Brotherhood firing at us still. Tinker Tom lingers around, heads over to the soldiers firing at him and blows up. The whole vertibird folds like wet cardboard and hits the water.Me and Deacon wipe out the last of the Brotherhood trailing us and I run over to the vertibird to check on Tom. Sure enough, there's his body--floating in in the water. Dead. I loot his corpse, pay my respects, and save.

BIG. ****ING. MISTAKE.

The quest updates to tell me I need to talk to Desdemona. I go back to the HQ and talk to her. All she says is "The Brotherhood will come back soon. You need to leave." Thats it. I hit it again, "The Brotherhood will come back soon. You need to leave." Everytime. So I save again. Close the game. Come back. She's still saying it. I do a side quest for the Railroad hoping to reset it. Nope. I turn off my PS4. Still no.

Irritated, I look up the quest.

Turns out Tinker Tom isn't supposed to die.

Turns out Tinker Tom is essential.

Turns out the quest is permanently bugged.

TURNS OUT I CANT FINISH THE MAIN QUEST ANYMORE.

TURNS OUT MY LEVEL 50 MAIN CHARACTER IS NOW STUCK IN PURGATORY.

TURNS OUT MY ONLY OTHER AVAILABLE SAVE FOR HIM IS OVER 3 DAYS AGO.

TURNS OUT I HAVE SOME ANGER ISSUES TOO.

**** YOU BETHESDA. **** YOU. HOW DID YOU NOT TEST THAT. HOW COULD YOU NOT MARK TINKER ****ING TOM AS ****ING ESSENTIAL.

****.

Fallout 4 seasons mod makes the wasteland eerily beautiful

Since its release, there’s been some pretty ridiculous mods to grace Fallout 4. The Seasons mod is not one of them as it equips the commonwealth...

Fallout 4 : Living Dismemberment Fix Incoming...and Other Stuff

Posted Jan 15, 2016

No question that it's click-bait title but it's also an issue that Bethesda is including in the Fallout 4 1.3 update that is now in beta on Steam.
In addition, the patch addresses performance issues and improvement to happiness calculators in settlements.
Key gameplay fixes include:

  • General memory and stability improvements
  • Improved performance when looking through a scope
  • Fixed issue where player could warp to a different location when aiming
  • Companions can no longer get stuck with radiation poisoning
  • Fixed an issue where Vault 81 residents would not dismember correctly
  • Big Leagues perk now displays calculated damage correctly
  • Fixed issue with third person camera not displaying properly after exiting certain crafting stations
  • Fixed an issue where subtitles would occasionally not update properly
  • Effects will properly be removed on companions when items are unequipped
  • MacReady’s Killshot perk now calculates headshot percentages properly
  • Fixed an issue with NPCs getting stuck in Power Armor
  • Fixed a rare issue with companions getting stuck in down state
  • Second rank of Aquaboy now calculates properly
  • Fixed an issue with resistance not always lowering the damage correctly when added by mods
  • Enabled number of characters available when renaming an item (XB1)
  • Fixed issue with player becoming dismembered while still alive
  • Robotics expert is now usable in combat
  • Stimpaks can now be used on Curie after the transformation
  • Playing a holotape found in wilderness while switching point of view no longer causes the screen to blur or controls to be locked
The Fallout 4 Steam site has the full list of fixes addressed in the beta patch so be sure to head over and check it out.

they said the beta re opend today for steam . it's in the link you have to check out the other platform to see if they have any news but I'm sure when news is up there will be an article for that as well.

This Benevolent Leader trophy is utter nonsense. Been working on my settlement for a few hours today, and it hasn't budged above 81/82 percent. :cmad:

really hope those SW and lightsaber mods come to the consoles.

THAT would get me interested again.

If not another Fallout, I wonder what Obsidian are working on...

So I gave up playing this because it was giving me headaches and just making me feel ill.
I picked it up after a month, same thing. This time I did notice while I was turning very slowly everything went out of focus, slightly blurred and she I stop turning it comes back into focus.

This is on the Xbox one. I do not see any options for this.
Is this just the way the game is? Or could it be something with my TV? Refresh rate not good enough.

a bit late with this one but found this interesting

Modders turn Fallout: New Vegas into an online co-op game

January 28, 2016 37 Comments

Fans of the Fallout series have been asking for an MMO or online game for years, and there was much disappointment online when the legal dispute between Bethesda and Interplay ended with the development of Fallout Online shutting down. Now it looks like fans may succeed where the development studios themselves have failed, as modders have managed to add online co-op functionality to the 2010 game Fallout: New Vegas. Titled New Vegas: Multiplayer, the project uses the game’s original Gamebryo engine but has modified it extensively to add multiplayer, with 91,041 additional lines of C++ code.

In order to incorporate multiplayer, the developers had to modify features that usually pause time such as the pipboy menu and the VATS system that lets players target individual body parts. The VATS system was removed in its entirety, while opening the pipboy menu now makes the player invulnerable but doesn’t pause the game. The mod can already synchronise game persistence between each player’s version of the game world, so if someone kills an NPC, then everyone’s mission involving that NPC will fail too. The developer is currently accepting signups for people to test the mod and is looking for more network programmers and reverse engineering specialists. Check out the videos below to see the mod in action.
