Bethesda Fallout 4

Maybe someone will make a mod that reenables the achievements that the mods disable

If someone was going to use mods to cheat, then they clearly don't care that much about achievements/trophies anyway so I don't know why they would be all that upset that they can't get them.

I had a friend some years back whose wife had him play games on her Xbox profile so she would get the achievements. Sometimes it's not about how you acquire something, only that you have it.

I suddenly feel really bad for the people who wasted their money on the season pass. This seems Oblivion horse armor bad to me.

Todd Howard's interview with Adam and Morgan will be up as soon as they make it available

Yay, Fallout 4 is going to be available to be played on technology that 95 % of gamers cannot afford!

That's encouraging. I hope for a return to silent player characters in future Bethesda games.

I didn't hate the dialogue system. It was kinda refreshing to hear my character actually speak.

It should have been optional to let your character actually have a voice. It baffles me that they didn't do that.

I found so much of the dialogue was wildly outside of how I envisioned my character. If not just the voice itself, you never knew exactly what you'd say and a lot of the time it didn't suit what I (and I'm sure others) had in mind. With having text-only you can select what suits your character best. In a game like Mass Effect it works a lot better because your level of customization is limited- you're always Shepard to some degree- but with Fallout (even with 4's narrow origin) the possibilities are, or should be, infinite.

In an attempt to fight piracy, Bethesda is making sure that all modders must first link their Steam account to transfer PC mods to consoles.

God I can't wait to build a new PC.

Mods for PS4 have been delayed.

Bethesda really ought not have even announced this until they were 100 % positive that they could pull it off because now they have egg on their face. I am worried that PS4 mods are going to fall to the wayside (much like the promised Skyrim mods on consoles).

I'll say this, if they don't figure it out, they are going to hurt Skyrim Remastered sales. It looks great, but honestly, PS4 Skyrim is not such a graphical step up from PS3 to warrant a rebuy of 4 year old game. The promise of console mods is the big selling point.

I was really hoping to maybe download a mod for the dialogue system. I've heard great things about one that fixed the problems I had with it. But, I'm not holding breath. Looks like it could be a long wait till mods wind up on the PS4. Whatever went wrong, it must have been amazingly bad. It's not like they're shy about releasing janky, or even broken, stuff. It's my understanding that Far Harbor was broken, and to fix it they re-released it with no fog.

So the stuff with the mods must have been beyond all that. Had to be incredible.

To be fair, I think there would have been a problem with them being silent on the PS4 front. Announcing and having things planned for Xbox One probably made it so they needed to say something. And, I'm willing to believe that they thought they could make it happen.

But, you're correct. This looks way worse. Like, way, way, worse. And now I'm worried that this could be just be a lingering problem that either doesn't get solved or just winds up being so broken that it would have been better if they'd never even tried.

And you're right on the Skyrim thing too. I think Skyrim looks just fine, and I still have my 360 plugged in. Better graphics isn't going to be a motivator at all for me to rebuy it. But mods could be. The only thing that has me even thinking about buying it early, instead of waiting a year or two for a price drop or something, is checking out the Skyrim mods.

I'm not sure if it'll make a dent in sales for the Skyrim remaster, but maybe it will? Certainly won't help it.
