Bethesda Fallout: New Vegas (PC, PS3, 360)

Okay....that robot with the tv screen is ****ing awesome.

I want one as a party member already.

I fear giant insects. Its my second worst fear behind styrofoam. Ever since I read the Overseer's memo about the giant ants outside the vault, I have been unable to leave the vault any time I tried to play. :(

I can not wait to play New Vegas. I love the idea of being able to run through the Vegas Strip. I think I'm going to actually play evil for the first time on the first play through. Imagine the outfits they'll have. Zoot suits maybe? Old gangsters, and showgirls...Ghoulie showgirls lol.

Whoa....did they change the graphic style a bit? Or...is this just a different kind (nightkin) ?

Nah, they didn't change the art style. That's Marcus, a character from Fallout 2.

Fallout: New Vegas won't let you play after the credits.

We talked about trying to support post-game play, but because the changes that can happen at the end of the game are pretty major, this is what it basically came down to: either have the changes feel really major in the end slides and then have them not be very major after the end of the game, or make them really minor and not that impactful.

Considering how enthusiastic they were about DLC support for New Vegas in another interview, this seems pretty fishy. I can't decide which outcome is more egregious, that they're deliberately planning to charge people to play after the credits, or that they're so incompetent they haven't learned from Mass Effect and Fallout 3 how utterly stupid it is to make people start a new game to play your additional content. Either way, Obsidian has painted themselves into a corner.

Ugh. So utterly stupid. I have to do everything before I beat the game...dammit

At least you could play after Fallout 3. You had to be good karma and use Fawkes to activate Project Purity. After the credits you go 3 new story missions and explore the world, gaining new side missions.

Didn't you have to download Broken Steel to play after the credits for Fallout 3?

They probably hope to recapture that success, because I've heard that Broken Steel was the most successful, highest rated, and bougt DLC for Fallout 3.

They'll probably tag a Cap raise with it too.

Out of curiosity...has anyone pre-ordered the game yet? I'm looking at my pre-order options, and I think I might go with the Caravan Pack pre-order bonus from Wal-Mart. A unique leather armor with a unique shotgun sounds good to me.

New Vegas opening cinematic?

Ah, my bad, just got mixed up with the last two digits.

I can't believe this game isn't out yet, I don't think I've ever been so stoked for a video game release in my life. From everything I've read, it sounds like this game either improves, or in some cases overhauls everything that was a flaw in the first one (minus things that couldn't be entirely resolved due to being the same engine). I just finished my fourth playthrough on Fallout 3, and by fourth playthrough I mean literally doing every single thing in the game, every location, every quest, every unmarked quest, every item, etc. I think I've probably logged about 400 hours on this thing, which I've never done for any other game ever. Just has the perfect mix of rpg, action, adventure, and pavlovian elements ever.
