heh, "duty before booty"... can't help but laugh at the thought of Thor saying that. :D

but I actually meant this:

"I HAVE THY MEASURE NOW, AND I FIND THEE LACKING!"
Translation: If that's the best you can do, I'm REALLY gonna f**k you up.

And I really liked that one, too.

I read Spider-Girl. The BEST Spidey book out there.
While I won't go that far, it IS great. Largely b/c all the teen angst her daddy had to deal with is there, PLUS trying to live up to his legacy, AND his constantly riding her @$$.
Can you imagine if Aunt May knew back when Pete was a kid, & constantly busted his chops about it?
"See, if you kept your head out of the clouds, you wouldn't be covered in bruises right now! Now finish your wheatcakes, young man. I will NOT have you fighting Otto Octavius on an empty stomach."

Actually, if you read savemarvels's posts, you would have notice that he's attacking the mentality of the fans who stick with the book despite how the character is treated and the way the company is treating the fans. If you want to try to play victim and try to say that savemarvel is a bad person and he's attacking anyone who does not agree with him, then that's up to you. I on the other hand love that someone is actually saying it as it is and is not afraid of saying it and i notice that a few people here share the same feeling.:spidey:

But most people aren't thinking about the company. Most of these people just LIKE SPIDER-MAN! And he IS a bad person for blatantly attacking people because they don't share the same opinion that he does. That's basically what it's boiling down to.

It's like, "Oh, you still buy Spider-Man comics? Well, you're like a battered woman who comes back for more! They're ruining the character and you're helping!" Basically, making people feel less about themselves for buying SOMETHING THAT THEY ENJOY. Maybe you don't enjoy it, obvious savemarvel doesn't enjoy it. But that doesn't mean everybody else shares the same opinion, or feelings. And it's not going to change anything by making the worst assumption in the world, of comparing peoples BUYING HABITS of a comic book to a woman who gets physically abused and stays in the relationship.

The only "abuse" being thrown around is by savemarvel and people who just can't wrap their heads around people finding enjoyment out of the unmasking and Civil War.

I think Ultiamte Spidey is mediocre bullcrap. Stories are weak and the writin' is horrible. Sure, there's no Other crap to contend with, but it hasn't had a good story in a looooooong time.

It's only elitist when you push your views on others.

which is basically what a lot of guys here are doing.

"don't buy spider-man books!"

I like the stories, love the character and i'll stick to spidey no matter what:spidey:

This is my conclusion:

I'd rather read crappy Spider-Man rather than no Spider-Man at all.

Someone said the above quote didn't make sense. But it makes perfect sense to me. Yes, we should see if the product can be improved, but in the meantime, I'm not going to switch to the Babysitter Adventures novels. I'd rather read bad spiderman than none.

I have a similiar saying about superhero movies: I'd rather go see a bad superhero movie then a good romantic drama.

We buy comics because they are collector's items.
They are the source of comic wisdom.
You know that the guys who got ASM 121 back when it was 20 cents are laughing their asses off, because it's worth a fortune now!

I know that. A few friends stop collecting after the sins past story and more after the unmasking. I stayed to see where all of this was going and after Amazing Spider-Man#534, i knew that Marvel had no idea where all of this was going.

Marvel never had a clear ideal on the unmasking, that's why it turn out as bad as it did.:spidey:

How has it turned out bad when we're still in the early stages of it?

Read Amazing Spider-Man#534, the proof is there.

I just read it this morning, I don't see this "proof" that you speak of. Looked to me that all the issue was that Peter realizes that he's doing the right thing by the law, did the right thing for his peers, did the right thing for his family, but did he do the right thing for himself?

And that he's also beginning to question Tony Stark's motives now. Seeing that Tony knew about his spider sense without Peter ever telling him. He attacked Captain America because he obviously knows that Tony is monitoring his actions in that suit.

To me, it only gets more interesting from here. Maybe you don't agree, but it doesn't make you wrong and it doesn't make me wrong. I read it and enjoy it a hell of a lot. Maybe you don't get that enjoyment, tough luck.

yeah, but I thought "it's not about right or wrong, moral or immoral. It's about legal or illegal." :down
