Comics Order of the Arachknights

Hello, everyone. I am Spider-Zero, creator of the Order of the Arachknights. This order was created to stop one person who has bastardized our beloved character of Spider-Man. Who has done this? I will tell you who: Joe Quesada. I am gathering as many loyal fans who have been enraged by these changes to Spider-Man and his universe.

Over the last year, Joe Quesada has been ruining Spider-Man's character with the changes from One More Day and how they've just "rolled with it" since Brand New Day started. Quesada has given been impertinent to us fans. I wanted to like BND, I really did, but this isn't the true Spider-Man some of us grew up with. How long are we going to take this?

I have a proposition to you all. The plan is to boycott not only Amazing Spider-Man, but ALL Marvel publications. It will be difficult, I know. But this is for the good of all of Marvel. Spider-Man was just the first to be ruined. How long before he goes after Iron Man? Hulk? Wolverine? We all need to band together as loyal fans and tell Quesada what he's doing is wrong. As long as Joe Quesada remains as Editor-in-Chief, this rebellion will continue to grow and won't stop until he is removed from his position.

So I'm asking you one thing: Will you join the Arachknights?

it's just a fictional comic book character.

SO NO.!

At some point in our lives, Spider-Man was more than that. When I was a kid, I always looked up to Spider-Man and wanted to be like him, and I know many of you have been inspired by Spider-Man somehow in your life as well. It just makes me sad to see what Quesada has turned him into. And just think of the future generations of fans, who will come into the Spider-Man comics only to learn of the travesty of OMD. The Spider-Man in BND is not the Spider-Man we grew up with, and it shouldn't be who he is for future generations.

Let it go. just let it go. Spider-Man/Peter Park is a fictional character I know its hard, but just let it go accept it. Yes OMD happened no one said what happened from it was good, but we're moving on. Either ignore Spider-man from now on or buy it and enjoy it. nothing you do will change what's going on with Spider-Man. You can't put Spider-Man on a pedestal knowing all the ridiculous crazy things that happen in other comics. all I can say is let it go. it'll take some time but let go.

Aloha,
Several years ago, I proposed that the Spider-Man movies be boycotted until Spidey got rid of ORGANIC WEBBING:wow:, you see how far that went. More importantly, I used to own the complete Ultimate Spider-Man(including most variants) as well as Spider-Girl and Amazing Spider-Girl. Those two books no longer interested me and I sold the collection. After doing that, I NEVER went back to the Ultimate thread or Spider-Girl thread and vented ad nauseum about how I didn't like the books or how they were not the real Spider-Man, I simply stopped buying them and MOVED ON.As much as I love the sound of the Order of the Arachknights,I agree with those who suggest that you simply MOVE ON.As one of the oldest, if not oldest guys on these boards, there are MANY things that I grew up with that are not the way they used to be. That's life my friend. For those who want to hold onto the past, promote the Spider-Man Omnibus,Marvel Masterworks and other back issue Spidey comics that you feel DO reflect the Spider-Man of your child hood. Then you are promoting the Arachknight in all of his true glory as well as giving the uninitiated a basis by which they can compare what you feel is the true Spidey to what you feel he has changed into.

But good luck with your little.....crusade. :yay:

All I read was a bunch whining and BS in the TC's post. Look I hated OMD as much as the next guy, and yea I'm still a little pissed about some changes. Regardless though, I like the books right now. If you don't like them, then don't freakin buy them. Christ :o

I'd like to cancel that Order. :p

Spidey is just fine. If you want to boycott, feel free. I boycotted Exxon for years after the Valdez incident, and guess what, they're still around. Put it in perspective dude.

Yeh, spidey stinks right now....so i am not buying it....i'm not calling it my "boycott" or anything....i wish and WANT to like it....BUT it is not the Peter i grew up with, forced out of character (forced back into the 70's)....so i choose to spend my money on whatever it is i AM liking right now....although i know they'll retcon this Alternate Amazing Spider-Man at some point..it's only a matter of time and a new EIC.....

Just buy what you like.

Kirby said (of FF) the greatest tribute to him is to NOT write anything at all like any of his storys but to totally do something new.

Joe sadly has gone back to everything old, in the name of new.
Feels out of sorts. Just not right. Just my opinion.

LOL... neither was the Spider-Man in the Ultimate Universe.... :whatever: :whatever: :whatever:

Where was your perverse order back in 2000? :cmad: :cmad: :cmad:

I say this as a militant detractor of the Spidey books and someone who hasn't bought a BND Spidey book since it happened:

GET A LIFE.

i didnt like One more day but i enjoy some BND stories especially the current ones.

good luck on your Order....

BTW: The Spider-Raping began way before 2008...
I will not join this organization, cause I've been doing that... (Voting wiht my wallet) on my own already... BUT If I see something I like I buy...

Please stop this, you're making all us boycotters that aren't ****ing crazy look bad.

Preach it.

I don' buy it. There. I've stuck it to them. People ask why I don't buy it, I tell them. Trying to convince people not to buy something that they LIKE is just an exercise in futility.

Seconded. Sorry, man. I just think that this seems a little... absurd. I appreciate the enthusiasm, but really, is this the best thing you have to do with your time? If you want to protest, by all means, protest. Let us know that you are protesting. Let us know how even! But please, the way you are going about this is extremely cheesy, and frankly, embarrassing to the rest of us.

I don't see where in his original post where he's trying to force people who like the current comics to boycott. He's just asking for people "who have been enraged by these changes to Spider-Man and his universe" to join him in boycott.

I don't get the point here. If your intention is to downplay the importance of Spider-Man, then why is the inverse (keep buying) still important? Yeah, these are just mere comic books. Which are supposed to provide pleasure and entertainment for your money. If they're no longer doing that for you, then why bother buying them anymore?

Uh, that was exactly his point.

There's no need to come up with a corny club name or make a dramatic "call to arms" type thread like this guy has. But he hasn't really hasn't done anything wrong or outrageous.

What I find funny is how many people complain about the quality of the comics on the forums but remain loyal slaves to the brand name. If you enjoy the current comics, then fine, keep on buying them. But if you hate them and still buy, then you're a tool.

He's making us rational comic fan boycotters look like asshats by association. Plus the plan is halfassed at best. If you want a change you target specifics not a company as a whole, that way your point gets across, what their asking for is a company boycott which even if it worked at all, wouldn't necessarily be tied in with OMD and therefore make the boycott impotent.

Jack was saying don't take it too seriously, there are more important things than having this much anger over one thing which WILL eventually be changed back as history has consistantly shown. I don't always agree with jack, mostly I don't, but his point is pretty good on this.

^most overused complaint on the internets. "why do people buy things they don't like?" Some can't resist, some are collectors, and some actually have faith that the comic might become good again (and eventually when pete's a hero it will be). Everyone gets to have a voice and state their opinion no matter what the circumstances and while I agree they're misguided they're not as bad as those poor lost souls that are spider-man fans and actually like this current trend. Personally I can't figure either group out. And his/her point wasn't just if you don't like them don't buy them, it was if you don't like one aspect of a company buy NOTHING the company sells, which is just silly.

Making comments like the one on the bottom do a good enough job of making yourself look like an asshat.:whatever:

While I was speaking in generalities and asking people to tame back their hatred of something they and you love and only giving a minor jab at you pro-OMDers; you have to start with the name calling? Adorable. What's great though is there are guys like yourself on the proOMD side that make a lot of the current supporters look crazy too so it balances out. Your crazy yin to their crazy yang, if you will. So at least I've got that, the nice happy middle ground between you, the koolade drinker and spider-zero who wants to run the lynch mob.
