They also lost the merch sales for Spider-Man which is why there is a crisis. I am not sure if Fox has those for FF, but I'd assume they do have them for X-Men. Thus making those films far more potentially lucrative.

FOX gets a minority cut of the licensing fees for FF and X- Men tie in merchandise. But Marvel controls what gets produced, which is why the stuff has become scarce after the Disney purchase.

Yeah the last time there was real merchandising (toys etc) for an X-Men film was X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Marvel also were sneaky with DOFP, there was a DOFP game released on mobile but it was based on the original comic story not the film so they could cash in on the name recognition of the film but didn't need to give Fox a cut.

They also released a novelization and, IIRC, there was a Sentinel Lego set that featured characters that were in the movie, but the likenesses were clearly based on the comic. The only movie merch they've signed off on are premium Wolverine figures that release months after the film (and also wouldn't put much money in Fox's bank account).

I did not realize this. That is pretty slick from Disney. Wow, there really is a chance that no matter how little money they put into this film, it could be a small disaster.

When is the trailer for this supposed to drop?

so we're still supposed to get the trailer with kingsman right ?

Aren't International and American trailers usually slightly different? One or two scenes or something.

That is not a rarity. Though certain international trailers are completely different. I remember First Class having one such international trailer.

Been doing more research on that Romania thing, and I may have figured out what kind of makeup brushes are being used on Miles Teller (I know, stop the presses, right? :o). Mr. Teller tells Mr. Perez to "prepare the Chinese dog hair for me please". This didn't make a lick of sense to me at first, but apparently Chinese produced makeup brushes are sometimes made with animal hair. I guess Mr. Fantastic is now particular about what animal's hair is used to apply his makeup.

Either that or there really aren't Romanian reshoots and they're just going on a romantic weekend after all. If that's so I sincerely hope I never find out what that brush is being used for.

You could use golden hair shaved straight off an angel's arse and it wouldn't improve Teller's look.

He can cry into his cash stuffed pillows at night if I have hurt his precious feelings.

As was already said those awkwardly "shoving in japanese Shredder" reshoots did not turn Ninja Turtles into a decent film. Don't make stupid changes at the scripting level and you won't have to go back for extensive reshoots.

Made it far more entertaining though. :hehe:

The reshot scenes in TMNT are so embarrassingly obvious. The film makes no gosh darn sense.

At this point, this being like TMNT would be great. Instead of a boring bad FF movie, at least it'd be really fun to laugh at.

The awfulness of TMNT is only eclipsed by the awfulness of T4.

I'm curious to see how this film handles the extensive reshoots that I believe are happening (not curious enough to buy a ticket, mind you, just curious enough for a rental and a visit to Wikipedia). Maybe they'll even go so far as to overdubbing the "Domashev"'s to "Von Doom"s. That'll fix it! :o

Oh I had such a fun and confusing time watching TMNT in theaters, it would be a true joy if FF was fun bad.

I wouldn't put anything past this mysterious production.

They'll recut it so that Domashev is working for the real Doctor Doom who'll only appear in two rooms that look like they're the same set redressed while doing absolutely nothing. Also for some reason Domashev will be wearing the under armour Doom wears with his suit even though it's clearly not supposed to be him in it. Clearly.

At least we'll get an actual Latverian actor for Doom.

Maybe we won't. Maybe for the Doom scenes they'll use a Hot Toys figure to stand in for Doom and splice it in with the existing footage.
