The idea of late embargoes clearly implying a crap film is so obvious and well known by anybody who pays any attention to the film business, that I can't believe it's even being argued now.
If I had been looking forward to this film up until now, I would have to respond to this news: "Oh . . . crap . . . I was hoping it would be better than that."
The idea that anybody would argue this isn't awful news despite the indisputable evidence is baffling to me.
At this point I won't be surprised if this film gets a 27% on Rotten Tomatoes and we still have people arguing that it's a good film.
I'll be honest, I kinda wish Peyton Reed had taken this instead of Ant-Man like he was slated for decades.
After bailing out Marvel with Ant-Man, Peyton would probably get first crack at the FF if (when) it reverts.
I may be hopelessly optimistic, but I still think an FF film can at least be a modest hit for Marvel.

I'm not sure a franchise can survive 3 POS movies in a row. Even the Hulk hasnt been able to carry his own franchise and his solo movies were waay better than the FF stuff.
A few post credits scenes will sell it.They'll make it work. Even if they just start dropping hints that eventually build up anticipation for it.
I have been optimistic for this because of Trank, because of the cast, because of Kinberg, but reading that the review embargo isn't lifted until the same day the movie is released, it really sends bad signals. Is this movie gonna be THAT bad?

-At the end of a Spidey movie, have the Human Torch and Spidey exchange gifts X-Mas morning in the statue of liberty
-At the end of some Hulk or Avengers, have Reed ask Bruce for help to cure Ben.
-At the end of Ant-Man 2, put a diplomatic immune Doom contacting Pym to try to make some tech research deal
or
-At the end of Infinity War, have Doom watching the outcome and planning his move.
That would be enough to have people asking for Reed, Bruce, Pym, Stark and Doom in the same room trying to come up with a way to stop Galactus![]()

Only one way to find out!

So I'd like to see them dropping references to the Fantastic Four and Reed Richards as soon as they have the rights. And then, when if fits, give us a Fantastic Four film with them as a fully established and incredibly powerful team. We certainly haven't seen anything like that in any Fox films.
I still think they could do them without having them been around as a team for years.
GotG2 I'd have them get information from someone (hermit/prophet/mystic/whatever) on a remote planet where he would give them the information but tell them that the planet was dying and they had to go. In the credits we would come back and the guy who gave the information would be standing there, we would see something streaking through the sky, then as the camera moved round we would see Galactus.
For the earth based films in phase 3 I would have mentions in the news, tvs, internet, etc, that the country of Sokovia (from AoU) had fallen into civil war. Over the films we would hear bits about how it is going, then start to hear about a new faction that has appeared and growing in strength. We would get more pieces then hear about the faction with their leader winning. Then at the end of Phase 3 hear that the new ruler has changed the country to its historic name of "Latveria".
For the Four themselves I would seed then through Phase 3, even having Reed show up to give technical help, but show that they don't have their powers. I'd have mentions of Reed having developed technology that could revolutionise our ability to go into space. That it could be worth billions through cheap satellites and that sort of thing. Then near the end of Phase 3 that the launch would be happening soon
During Infinity War I'd have something happen that results in a random blast from the infinity stones (where we later find it hit the Four).
Then when they did the FF film itself I'd do a quick montage at the start covering what things for people who didn't catch that it had all been easteregged. The start of the film would just be Ben having his normal walk round NY in the morning and show that the people there are already used to him, that things had already moved past the 'origin' stage in the story.
Sure, that would work. The key to me is I don't want to suffer through another origin film.
Really this is win, win for me, if the movies is decent and does well I get a sequel, if it doesn't the rights revert and I get The Annihilation movie trilogy I have wanted to see since the comic version came out!
No you won't. Fox still own the Shi'Ar so War of Kings can't happen.
I never said War Of Kings, I said Annihilation, the Shi'ar were not involved in that war.
A good Annihilation adaption could wipe the floor with anything that Marvel has done so far, plus it would be a galactic MCu equivalent of the Avengers films. The film would bring all the franchise together, completely shake things up, then set things up for the following phase.
Sure, that would work. The key to me is I don't want to suffer through another origin film.
I think we're to the point we can just accept: "This is who they are." as superheroes from the start.
That's how nearly all of us were introduced to our favorite comic-book characters, isn't it? I mean I didn't start at FF#1. I picked up in the middle and then eventually read FF#1 later.

My thought has always been to introduce the team at the end of the 2nd Infinity War film. In the post credit scene a rift in space opens up and a familiar ship comes into view. We see the words "Future Foundation" on the craft. The left on a mission prior to Stark's capture by the 10 Rings - perhaps even as far back as the 1960s - and Marvel's First Family is finally coming home.
