You remember that scene in the first Story FF film where Ben attacks Reed for making him the way he is, and slacking off on fixing him?

It's that, but darker and grittier and with more body horror.

And Johnny casually tossing balls of flame at his own flesh and blood sister is from the classic FF tale..........ummm........

I'll be over in the FFINO thread.

And yet none are showing in Houston...how weird.
I've been watching various channels all day yesterday and today....and so far no FF commercials.

Weird, it seems like I've been getting fairly frequently on MTV.

I haven't watched MTV since they stopped showing Music videos :)

I frequently stop on Cartoon Network as just a "the tv is on but I'm watching Youtube" channel, and I haven't seen ANY tv spots for this movie there.

Not even during Adult Swim.

there demo definitely seems to be tweens and teens... and sports fans. any sporting event or any tween/teen channel has been playing them pretty heavily. but that's been about it. It sounds like they're really trying to bank on the tween/teen demo and well the stereotype anti-comic fans (aka sports fans)

I don't know about that. It's summer. There are no Grey's Anatomy or such with guaranteed eyeballs. Sporting events are it.

I saw a freaking Terminator spot during Bachelorette comparing Sara Connor to the Bachelorette.

Ok, just saw a commercial for it on truTV channel.

thats a rarity.. though alot of people watch the bachelorette... and lets not ignore the fact women like these films too...

yes, it is summer, but lets not pretend new shows still arn't on...

for instance.. what would be a great paring for F4 would be Under the Dome, American Ninja Warrior, and Big Brother... none of those from what ive seen personally have been paired with F4 trailers.. thus they arn't trying to hit that viewers demographic.

alot of fans weren't impressed with the way Terminator was turning out... or looked, so they tride to sell it to women as well.. it happens. I see the same thing happening with this... Sports Fans and Teens/Tweens

I'm not slamming it for airing during the Bachelorette. Calling her the first Bachelorette( or something. I was on in the background) is way out marketing.

I don't think any of those shows could match a Shonda Rhimes show rating on its worst week though. Or even the Simpsons.

Talk shows are showing more summer reruns. It's harder during summer. Probably why Mi5 is struggling.

Saw a TV spot over here in the UK at the weekend

I haven't watched MTV since they stopped showing Music videos :)

Same

Why are they considering Fantastic Four as a Marvel Studios film? Bad reporting.

They aren't. The headline says Marvel not Marvel Studios. It refers to movies based on Marvel characters topping advertising. The article itself says "another Marvel superhero entry from 20th Century Fox".

They correctly use Marvel as reference to any and all movies based on Marvel characters and use Marvel Studios to refer to that one specific studio.

Like MBJ when asked why is he and Sue appear to be fighting. Their family and family don't always get along. Then there is also Ben has been turned into a rock monster.

BTW 5 new tv spots dropped bringing its grand total to 22 tv spots.

And people said they'd never market the movie :funny:

Spots are all over television.

I figured they would ramp up marketing closer to the film, but dang.

They need this thing to do good, that's why. And the Denny's cross promotion and whatever else.

Is this releasing in other parts of the World soon?

New Zealand and India are getting in on the 30th, everybody else is getting it between 8/5-8/7. We usually get ours the night before with evening showings over here.

The ad buy breakdown at the bottom of the article identifies the Fant4stic studio as "Marvel"

If you look at the list with the data on the right, it says Marvel for studio entry. Clearly, someone thinks it is a Marvel Studios production.

The article itself states 20th century Fox, but the main title doesn't help much.

Nope, it's identified in the article as Marvel.

I don't recall anyone saying that.

Well at least they aren't giving away any crucial aspect of the story with their spots (I'm looking at you Southpaw)

So Fox are targeting Trank's bodyhorror flick at the Cartoon Network and Disney XD crowd...

Marvel advertised their gritty mature spy throwback on the same channel to the innocent masses..
Maybe like that movie, the descriptions shouldn't be taken so literally.

I've been seeing "Ricki and The Flash" with Meryl Streep promos all over the place.

I've been getting a lot of MI5 and Man from UNCLE. I haven't seen a Fantastic Four spot since the FIFA Women's World Cup finals.
