Taskmaster might actually still be with Marvel, in their big 2015 lineup poster they released the other month Taskmaster could be seen pretty clearly and that poster only seemed to use characters that were wholly under Marvel cinematic control.

Its from Latino Review which can be very hit and miss when it comes to Marvel scoops.

Also I've been trying to figure out where they got idea from, they don't give much on that. I did notice in another of their new stories that they write a couple of lines that make me wonder if they got the idea from a Sony hack e-mail.

Somebody from Fox whispering in Latino Review's ear about their desire to do a crossover tells us zero about the actual status of the rights and doesn't change any of the various details we've discussed over the past couple years.

Would Fox like people to believe there will be a crossover so fans of X-Men are more likely to show up for FF in August? Sure, why not?

I just remember hearing that Fox wanted to use him in a spin-off a while back. I'd still love it if Marvel could use him again since I associate Taskmaster more with Captain America more than Deadpool.

I hope Grant Ward (Agents of Shield) becomes Taskmaster. I don't see the Fantastic Four connection for that character.

I have been waiting for the media onslaught. I'm ready for it. I can still be convinced to go to the movie. So where are the new clips? I really want higher res pictures of the Thing. He looks so different in each picture I am wondering if it is intentional.

If Fox can't release a set of images or a clip from the movie, I think it is because the rendering is going badly. They may not have 2 minutes of decent CGI for the whole movie.

This is me too. I want to see more of the Thing and more Doom and more of the Neutral Zone to see if it's really worth it.

I don't like what I've seen so far, but we really haven't seen anything new since the trailer in April. I would hope they've completed a lot of FX work since then and there should be some cooler things to show.

But if there's nothing better than we've seen, I'm not very interested.

Hate to be negative but I'm not neutral at all. I really want this thing to fail. Fox clearly went into this thing half fast(get it?)and saw how stupid the end product looked so now they have to do a ton of reshoots. This is clearly a rights grab and with them already striking out two times, I have no confidence in this film at all. Especially with what they did to Doom. Fans were outraged the first time they turned him into Norman Osborne and we all didn't think it was possible they could do worse. Yet they make him into an internet blogger. Now they are hiding him completely. We see a half fast Thing but not Doom?! This movie has Doom(see what I did again?) written all over. It's the only part of Doom they got right.

Well we are two weeks from SDCC so we will have to see what Fox have planned for then, has anyone actually heard anything about Fox's plans? Still no sign of a new trailer even though Mission Impossible and Hitman have both released their final trailers, holding off till SDCC is about the only valid reason Fox could have for not releasing something new.

If I had to fall solidly on one side or the other, I'd have to land on the side of this being a huge disappointment and complete squandering of an opportunity by Fox.

But I don't see any reason, at this moment, to make a decision one way or the other until I've seen more than 2 minutes of film. Because of what I have seen, Fox has an uphill battle in winning me over and we'll have to see and hear some things between now and August that are very different than what we've seen and heard up until now, but I'm willing to keep an open mind on the off chance they'll still wow me.

It's hard to believe that if they have something great, they haven't at least hinted at it yet, but the unlikelihood of anything great is different than the impossibility of anything great.

And if they do have something great, they deserve my money and a chance to continue.

I'll keep the door open a crack, and I might pick up a lottery ticket on my way home tonight.:cwink:

I'm nearly certain Comic-Con attendees will at least see some new clips, but I wouldn't be surprised if X-Men or Deadpool is featured more prominently than FF.

Comic Con VERY VERY VERY rarely showcases movies that come out that month... but usually instead focuses on movies that are months away... the point of comic-con is to get the excitement train rolling for movies yet to come... they really gain no benefit from showcasing the F4 at SDCC this year (they would have benefited more last year)

Fox must have something planned for SDCC, I'm sure that I've read that they will be doing showings of the Rogue Cut of DoFP.

id honestly be shocked if X-men Apocalypse and Deadpool weren't there. And yeah.. often when a movie is coming to DVD SDCC usually shows a film or 2 you can go screen if you want to. that's not uncommon.

I disagree. If the movie looks good at comic-con and actual open minded fans decide they like what they see and get excited (and more importantly social media outlets/trades report on the positive buzz surrounding the film from SDCC and word spreads) it will be a huge benefit to the movie that is released in theatres 3-4 weeks later. Ant-Man should also benefit if the fans/press like what they see - and that comes out immediately after SDCC. My impression is F4 would have been crushed at SDCC last year since they probably had nothing ready to show. Just the score alone makes it worth the wait. With music by Beltrami and Glass, not to mention completed SFX/CGI, why NOT make SDCC the place to excite the fans, prove the doubters wrong, and all on their own terms. I am really hoping that is what happens, for both Ant-Man and F4. I can't imagine a lot of people decide that they are going to see a film a year in advance.

disagree all you want.. it's why you don't usually see july opening movies at comic-con... studios find it pointless.. and i agree with them.

look at it this way... what would a film benefit by having about a thousand (or less) people in all H see footage of the film when the film comes out in less than a month from this. Leaves little time for the hype to grow and build... stuff to leak, peoples reactions etc..

look at all the movies that go to comic-con... they're always several months away. why? because it build momentum. People talk, things leak, and the hype grows... Nothing they show at comic con with the F4 would be released on the web (unless leaked) so its actually a very small audience.. with really not a lot of time to build the hype they'd want.

couple that also with the fact the fan base is VERY divided on this film.. there is no doubt in my mind as soon as the cast or trailer started.. half the audience would be booing... especially with the heckling last year at Wright loyalists towards ant-man and the mere mention of the word "Mutant" the hostility to those 2 things pale in comparison to this film...

and do you know what FOX doesn't want? press saying fans booed and heckled this film at comic-con.

it's too risky and the reward is not greater than the risk... so id be shocked if anything more than just billboards or brief mentions of the F4 film are made at comic-con from FOX.

as for Ant-Man. hah.. shows how little you know about the subject..

1) the same film never goes to comic con twice.. and ant-man was their last year...

2) the trailers are all out, the cast is all announced.. their's absolutely nothing for Marvel to show that's not already been seen at comic con.. it'd be a massive waste of money and everyone's time

the only thing you will see at comic con with ant-man is promotional billboards, toys, merch etc...

you are speaking less about reality.. and more about just what you personally want.

Hype can grow overnight for a film - and it can also deflate just as quickly once negative reviews come out (Tomorrowland). The media drives the buzz - I am not expecting the 1000 regular joe's in Hall H to spread the word in any significant way. A month is a long time IMO. IF what they show of the film is GOOD, I would expect the audience will react positively. If they bring the cast to Hall H, as I think they will, it's the booers that will look like idiots when the final trailer is awesome and the world sees that as well. There are 12 year old kids in the cast - I wonder if they will be treated poorly as well for just showing up "for the fans". As for Ant-Man, I know they aren't having a big Hall H panel - but it is going to have a large presence - Marvel isn't doing that for no reason, or for free for that matter. Finally, is it possible for you to have a conversation without being condescending? It is getting really old.

you're ridiculously optimistic. enjoy that while it lasts.

and ... seriously? you think they're going to bring the "entire" F4 cast including 12 year old version of the 4? haha.. you've seriously got to be joking... if anyone were to show up... it'd be the 4 and doom, and that's it... so yeah.. they'd get booed.

look i don't mean to offend you or "try" to be condescending... its just logic like yours especially when given legit explanation as to why and how what works at comic con... that it's impossible not to come off that way.. because frankly.. while your opinions can not and arn't wrong to have.. the thought process when applied to reality.. very much is.

that's simply not how comic-con works.

Now will FOX release a trailer online during the week of comic con? maybe, it's probably likely... will their be a presence via ads at comic con? probably... but i'm 90% sure that's where it ends... i'd be shocked if they brought the cast their and had a panel on it... because it's not logical at all for them to do it.. and would be very much "out of the norm" the way comic-con is handled by studios...

To be fair, that kid playing young(er) Reed Richards is pretty much the only person attached to the film that actually seems to want to promote the damn thing on social media. They would have been better off letting him run their marketing campaign. I could see the Comic-Con panel being that kid talking about the movie. Hopefully he doesn't get the tough questions, like "Where is literally any other cast member from this movie?" or "How many hours did you spend playing 3DS while you waited for the director to show up to the set?" :o

To be fair, applying logic to how Fox promotes this movie might not be the logical thing to do. ;)

If Fant4stic shows up at all, it'll be drowned out by Batman/Superman and Star Wars. Plain simple fact of that matter.

And is it confirmed somewhere that Ant-Man stuff is going to be there? I remember reading that Marvel wasn't going to have anything there, since D23 is around the corner.

Marvel isn't doing it because they don't have anything new worthy to show as I remember reading it. It is because they announced all their big stuff during last year's Disney event. In Kevin Feige's own words: "I really have a belief: If you can’t go to Comic-Con and over-deliver, then don't go."

Marvel Studios wont have a panel... but Marvel Comics and Marvel Television will.

that also doesn't leave out marketing (billboards and posters and what not around the convention, floor booths, etc...) it's quite probably there will be a floor presence from all these studios

It would be extraordinarily brave for Fox to have an FF panel at ComicCon.
