By wishing Marvel to get back the rights, you are infact wishing this movie to be bad.
I'm sorry is there a point here?

For over a year there was a "Keep hope alive" thread present in this forum. Google it.

You have outdated info. It went over twenty million dollars over that budget, and Hitman was moved up a week.

More proof that Fox has little faith in this reboot doing more than making it's money back at the most.

There was a point if you bothered to keep my next sentence in the quote.

I am just saying don't be shy to say you wish to see this movie suck hard since you say you wish to see Marvel get the rights back, which essentially means you want Fox to fail (and not get any benefit out of keeping the property) that comes from this movie being really bad. This is not so hard to understand.

And as he stated, that is kind of a duh, considering there was a thread that pretty much had that stated in most every post. No one is shy is saying that want this movie to bomb....they would much rather the F4 be at Marvel where it belongs and honestly, I don't blame them for thanking that way.

It's about a $100 million dollar movie it doesn't need a huge opening weekend to consider it a success financially. The competition in August is not killer. There are two action movie that open in that month one is the Man from Uncle which opens the week after and Hitman which opens 3wks after.

If the movie is any good in the eyes of critics and has a cinema score of something like B+. It will more than likely stay in the Top 5 for most of the month. Which is what Kingsman did and that movie opened to 36million and ended up grossing over 400million worldwide.

Which is kind of sad, in my opinion, that 400 million is what passes for a great box office performance for the FF.
In a day and age where sci-fi/outer space movies are becoming the norm, and audiences throw their money at a talking raccoon and a tree, you think an FF movie would be a shoe-in for a similar gross.
It's the property that kick-started the modern Marvel universe; some of the most iconic stories are from Lee and Kirby's run on the FF and their beautiful, grand ideas could easily be made into a wonderful movie. Instead we have a lo-fi, and low-risk, take on the FF that will be deemed a solid success if it at least makes its money back.

And neither was I blaming anyone who wants FF to be at Marvel. I wasn't even talking about that and I don't care which studio handles FF. And asking him not be shy shouldn't be taken literally.

I just used it because he replied "no" to that question when in fact it is, as you said, a "duh" as in yes.

This thread is an absolute laugh riot.

Thing sauce. Good luck ordering that if you happen to have an attractive server :funny:.

"Waitress! I need more Thing sauce for muh Thing!"

Simply stunning.

"Can I take your order?"

"Yeah uh, I'll have the Thing Burger, everything on it. And why don't you throw a little extra Thing Sauce on there for me. *wink*"

*pepper spray*

I'm surprised they were able to help themselves by not making the Thing-centric dish a foot-long hot dog.

I just... GOD. :lmao:

With lots of shredded cheese(for the orange look) and Thing Sauce on top!

A veritable ******* of Thing Sauce!

Honestly... isnt pre screeners on that level sorta odd for a big summer blockbuster? Sorta sounds like theyre taunting people with free admission and custard to get a word of mouth going...

If what you say is the case and they are trying to build up word of mouth. Isn't that a positive sign they have faith that it will do exactly that.

100 or 120 a 400million dollar ww gross puts it in the green regardless. The budget would have to balloon to well over a $100 million to make that change.

That is well and good to wish for some grand imagining of Kirby and Lee's early work on FF. However the budget for something like that would be double to triple the current estimated budget of this film.

On a list of the most expensive movies ever made. Of those in the top twenty which includes AOU at number 3. All but five are sequels of a successful franchise. Of those in the top 50 only 2 are actually reboots of a previous film. Those two reboots Man of Steel and Amazing Spider-Man come in 225million and 200 respectably. They are only among the most iconic characters in not only comic history but pop culture.

For all of FF's importance to Marvel's ascension and comics in general. They have fallen way off the map in the minds of the general audience. The risk/reward for making a 200+million plus reboot just doesn't make much business sense.

Frankly a wiener wouldn't really go with this version of Thing.

I'm sure there are studios out there that could make an expensive reboot work. Maybe the one that made an expensive movie about a talking tree and a raccoon, is basically what I'm getting at.

Actually no, it means they dont feel the marketing is working and are willing to gamble.

There's plenty of films that have test screenings but not public finished film screenings shortly before the national release.

But, this marketing has been bizzare and all over the place.

It could be positive reviews, could be negative. I think they feel those who want to see this bad enough to go to a screener, will likely enjoy iy and convence others to see it...

They are letting over 800 people go see this for free. To me that says they feel this movie is so good those people are going to come back and spread the world.

Or more accurately, it is a cheap way to potentially build some buzz. I'm interested in the movie, but I'm hardly blind to the economics of the movie being made here.

... its clearly a desperate move... most films dont want spoilers out..

Exactly. Its free advertizing and theyre banking on the people like the supporters in here who have already made up their minds that they love it to see it.

Its controled built in fan base. Haters wont go see it

Most bad films don't want people to know how bad it really is till the day of release. That essentially the same rule of thumb for press reviews. When a studio makes a good film they want people to know how good it is in advance of their release. Word of mouth is still a very strong way of getting butts in seats. With everyone so sensitive about spoilers, the only people who will be spoiled are those who want to be.

I was looking on 4chan at the comic forum and came across a thread that someone has seen Fant4stic and the guy has some interesting things that he spoiled about the movie. Here is the thread **link removed because it leads to page with uncensored cursing and other offensive language** (Not sure if I'm allowed to post the link so sorry in advance) Anyways, The guy says it's "really good and action packed" Maybe the reshoots did justice? Or this guy is lying. Either way it's a good read!

I can't believe for a second it's "action packed". They've barely shown any action in the trailers, and what they've shown just looks like them training and adapting to their powers/disabilities.

Everything sounds probable until the poster replied that Ben jumps into the NZone threshold to save Reed but we know he's on the mission and Sue isn't. Obviously I don't know but I doubt it.

Yeah the Ben thing seemed off to me since he could be seen in a suit in the N-Zone in one of the trailers, unless that is another thing that has been changed in the reshoots.

I suspect that a lot of the action was added during the reshoots, with much of it being in the last act. I'm sure there was rumours of the last act being completely reshot. The Latveria/Thing drop certainly seemed like the sort of scene that would have been an easy one for reshoots as the main character in the attack looks to the the CG Thing, allowing the studio to film it without needing the main cast around.

It seems very close to some script descriptions we've seen, so those are either legit or this person based their comments on the script information that's out there.

Sounds pretty bland and too similar to the first film if true.
