Besides Miles Teller, everyone looks like they are 20 - 25 years old.

I'm sure that's all true, but when I see this:

I think Fantastic Four.

When I see this:

I think Wargames.

Holy Crap, I want that shirt!!!

It's sadly real. I don't want to hear the word, "edgier" with the FF. They aren't Deadpool. They aren't Batman. They aren't Daredevil. They're not edgy characters.

The words I want to hear to describe the FF are: sci-fi, wonder, exploration, horror, adventure, physics, family, danger and team.

Edgy is something I associate with street level anti-heroes. The FF are character driven sci-fi action-adventure with super powers tacked on. Superhero isn't a genre, it's a character archetype. The Fantastic Four are closer to Alien or Godzilla than they are to The Dark Knight.

Can't stress that enough! Fox clearly doesn't get F4! It makes you wonder why they kept those rights instead of Daredevil, who clearly would benefit from dark and gritty. Trying to change a property into something is not is crazy. That's like trying to make the Punisher family friendly and we all know that can't happen. He's the one character who literally can't be family friendly!

I am confused about Teller to be honest. I don't know if he looks young or old. lol

I am to honestly. There was one point where he did look the youngest but looking at him now, he appears to be the oldest.......But he doesn't really.

All I know is that if we were in a dark alley, he has that face where you would never get tired of punching. He comes off as an arrogant nerd.

I agree, from what I saw of him. Never saw Whiplash though.

The exact ages of the actors and characters may be a little different, but from the broader view:

10 years ago, Fox made an FF film directed by a young director in his 30's whose first film was critically acclaimed. The budget was modest, but the cast was made up of young, relatively unknown, but up-and-coming actors and actresses.

The story was an origin story in which the characters, after a scientific expedition, began to transform in mysterious and spectacular ways. Most of the film was focused on them coming to terms with those powers, but in the end, they battled their former colleague who had also been transformed by the accident.

But now . . .

So while both films may be called Fantastic Four, that's clearly where the similarities end.

LOL......your right. He does have that look. His character in Divergent is a perfect example of that. I could drop kick him in his face and not feel to bad about it.

I got a good laugh out of this

The cast is fine, I don't understand why people are still talking about it.

DOH! :hmr:

Thing looks strange in this pic...

His torso looks too long and his legs look too short (and sort of mishapen. I'd like to think it's just a trick of the angle, but every single shot we've seen of the Thing looks weird in one way or another. At some point I think we've got to face the idea that it's not just that every angle is weird, but the design of the character itself is weird.

Well when you've got the effects company trying to make a cg character look the same size from shot to shot, but the director, for some reason, wanting him to look bigger or smaller from shot to shot...weird character design is definitely going to happen.

Can't even keep him consistent in the marketing, even when they use the same shots of the other characters in nearly everything else.

I don't think that it's they're too short, I think it's an illusion with the words crossing his legs below the knee, and how dark the the lower half of the image is. His lower legs seem to blend into the background.

I do think they look weird, maybe they look a little bit thin, with a wide gap between.

Everytime I check in for new updates I feel like I'm being PUNKED. Like I sometimes can't believe That Fox is actually serious about this marketing... IDK. I'm just so disappointed from the announcement of the FFINO..

I like how they made the Marvel logo three times the size of the Fox logo on that 12 pack. I'm sure they're not trying to fool the general public into thinking this is a Marvel film...
