Fantastic Four had cartoons? I'm assuming they weren't great. I remember the one from the 2000s, but it didn't last long.

DC and Fox panels are tomorrow. Star Wars is tonight.

Tomorrow. I'd expect the trailer online no sooner than Sunday, but it might not be out until next week (but we should almost certainly have it before the 17th when Ant-man opens).

They'll want to reward the Comic-Con attendees with something special and if everyone has access to it at or near the same time, it sort of takes away the feeling that they're getting something special.

Thanks.

And of course there was Fred and Barney Meet The Thing:

I grew up on cartoons.. That's how I became a fan. Never had the chance to read the comics.

I grew up with the 60s and 90s Spider-Man, X-men TAS and Evo, and the DC cartoons. I don't remember ever seeing a Fantastic Four cartoon on TV, except for the most recent one but I don't think it was received all that well.

The 60s one was relatively popular from what I understand. I know the 1994 cartoon was kind of irrelevant compared to stuff like X-Men, Spider-Man, Batman, Power Rangers, Gargoyles, the Steven Spielberg/WB cartoons, and the Nickelodeon shows.

An BvsS trailer is supposed to have been rated and people are speculating that it might be shown tomorrow. Fox might have to be careful with their release to avoid getting overshadowed.

Isn't that to be expected?

Starwars and BvS are the main attractions this year. Anything beyond that is just a pleasant surprise.

the Fantastic four cartoons did pretty well... as i said, every decade there was one for kids to grow up watching.. guess you missed it some how.

it was on par with the Iron Man and Incredible Hulk cartoons at the time.. but both were indeed dwarfed by spidey and the x-men. Most kids of the 90s grew up watching the FOX morning/after school cartoons. those 3 other marvel toons came on a different network on sat mornings.

i loved the 60s hannah barbera series, it use to re-run on cartoon network while i was a child.

There's a big chunk of the general audience that thinks Spider-Man is a DC character. I'm skeptical about how much the GA is aware of a lot of these characters.

The FF and Hulk cartoons didn't do nearly as well as X-men and Spider-man cartoons of the 90s. I remember it was a nice little cartoon universe with FF, Spider-man, and X-men.

Wasn't there an Iron Man around that time too?

So when is the panel tomorrow? :) Is it simultaniously with the X-Men or before or after?

I think so, IIRC, wasn't it paired with the FF? I just remember it seemed like FF and IM were a block.

Yeah, I think you're right. But were they a block or was it Iron-Man one week and FF the next?

I remember something like that, but it's foggy after all this time.

I think Fox has something like 5:30 - 7:30 (but don't go by my vague memory, check to make sure).

But I don't know if they'll say the order ahead of time. They may want to surprise people (and try to keep everybody there for the whole presentation . . . which probably means FF goes first).

I remember last year watching a live text report from the presentation, so you can probably find something like that again this year.

I'm not going to bother this year, so you can let me know what happens. :cwink:

It was The Marvel Action Hour with Iron Man in the first half and Fantastic Four in the second half.

^ people enjoyed Ben in the previous movies yet they didn't mention Yancy street or a footbal past once.

Think you're onto something with this. Changes can be accepted if they're in a good movie and not if they're not

Inspired by. Not a cut and paste. Every adaption changes things l. The vast majority is true to UFF but there are some differences

Bingo.

Marvel villains are prime example of this most of them have different characterisation and origins but they look 'right'

Red Skull wasn't trained by Hitler, he was a super soldier reject. But he looked right so it was cool.
Crimson Dynamo wasn't a mercenary he was a scientist with a grudge against the Starks but he looked 'right' in the armour
Mandarin doesn't even need explaining
Ronan was a terrorist powermonger instead of judiciary of the Kree but he looked 'right'
Ultron looked 'right' but had a completely different origin
I've heard Malekith was quite different but his look adapted well

Drax was not a Human taken by a Kronos and changed, he was an Alien. Quill was quite different. He wasn't taken in the comics he left Earth himself and didn't become an outlaw but a space cop, he isn't such a joker in the comics either. Their costumes were also quite different in the d it didn't matter as the movie was great

None of these are drastic changes. You constantly try to draw comparisons between what liberties Marvel has taken and how Fox has butchered the FF, but it doesn't work in the slightest.

Since we're talking cartoons, the Yost one is my favorite.
The 90s cartoon has irritating voice acting from the guy who did the voice of Ben.
