Fant4stic Fantastic Four Box Office Prediction Thread - Part 5

Ohhhhh that's good stuff. Gooooood stuff.

I've said it before; I'm a lousy film critic and just a fan of movies. I didn't see FF so I can't say for sure that Tomorrowland was better, but I did see Tomorrowland and didn't think it was THAT bad. I wouldn't call it one of my favorites and can see why others didn't flock to the turnstiles, but there are flops and there are horrible, horrible movies that are virtually unwatchable (Think $#!t formers: Age of Suckstinktion).

Tomorrowland actually had a pretty positive message, but I can see if people felt it was heavy-handed. Although not the best move I ever saw, I do feel a little bad it bombed that hard.

Still, it's a small trade off after seeing F43e fail so awesomely.

My take on this is that some movies flop and are just sort of okay; they just didn't catch on (Tomorrowland). Some movies flop and are just really, really bad efforts (FF - I think....didn't see it). Some movies make a TON of money and are virtually unwatchable ($#!t formers).

Of all of the above, the last bothers me most because it sets the stage for a followup when it just deserves to be thrown in a garbage can and forgotten.

Gap with Total Recall (2012) down to 2.2M.
56M+ dom seems likely now. 175M ww should be out of reach.

Looks like FF will be the second-biggest flop of the summer.

Expected loss now put at $80-100 million. Way to go, Fox, you have to put in a lot of effort to screw up this spectacularly.

Even before the Tank replacement rumors, we went through multiple scripts and delays. There was a time when filming was supposed to start as early as July 2013 in Vancouver.

Basically every bit of news we had on this production was a red flag.

The film was originally announced in 2009 after Disney bought Marvel. You'd think with how long it took to make the film, they could've hobbled together something competent. :sly:

FFINO made an average of $58 per screen Tuesday (Sept 8th). :awesome:

They should make back their budget by 3015.

As I've said, only if they rent the theater by the hour......there used to be a motel like that down near the Boardwalk in Santa Cruz. Hopefully the theater can attract a higher class of clientele.

C'mon FFINO you can beat Paul Blart 2!
No, no you can't.
FFINO the little trainwreck that couldn't.

Oh wow.....that's pretty amazing. I didn't see either one of them..........

This is really embarrassing:

Mistress America $53,796 -5% 512 362 $105 $1,932,106
Fantastic Four $47,809 -27% 1,135 -324 $42 $54,887,006
Dope $43,260 -6% 1,023 1009 $42 $17,368,468

Mistress America with less than 1/2 the screens of FF, passes it in the daily box office.

Ant-Man Walt Disney $136,695 -28% 1,527 $90 $174,397,740

If FFINO continues at $45,00 per day it can pass the original FF in less than 7 years.
......like the guy said just keep milking it. If only it was "bad" culty enough to become a midnight movie that could play for years, but alas it wasn't even capable of achieving that.

FFINO opens at the dollar theater here in town tomorrow, which wasn't able to get Age of Ultron until last weekend. Even better is the fact that they seem to be so ashamed of showing the film that their website is advertising showtime for it with the poster for the 2005 Time Story film. :lmao:

Pay-per-hour motels are classier places for two consenting adults to spend their time than any screening of Fant4stic.

That's blatant false advertisement. That's like telling someone you're going to show them Empire and instead showing them An Ewok Adventure.

Yes, Story's FF is Empire compared to Fant4stic.

Even the theaters with the couches???

Even the ones with couches. Besides, this movie is a terrible one to take your "date" to. No matter how good your date is you'll never be as thoroughly ****ed as the poor defenseless franchise you'll be forced to see in that theater.

What if they have a fetish for bad movies? *ducks*

FF losing 459 theaters this weekend, down to 676 per BOM. Ant-Man down 179 to 1,354.

My local carmike still has 3 show times for this movie. It did have more, but they took some of its times away so they could bring back Jurassic World. :D

The other theater in my area has dropped Fant4stic entirely tho.

All the theaters near me have dropped FFINO.
