Lin didn't think the small window of time Universal gave him was right so he decided to pass it on.

Basically Universal wants the sequel next year and he needs some time off. I agree it's too fast a turnaround.

Universal is hurting right now for 2014's summer pipleline, that's the thing. There was a time they had all kinds of **** ready for a full decade of summers.

Can't see why they didn't fast track another Bourne or that SW&H sequel. :o

I think Fast 5 was better, but Furious 6 was a great movie if you like over the top action movies. I felt like I was watching Die Another Day with all the unrealism going on. For example, Roman and Dominic no selling their injuries from the car crashes. Not even a scratch. I know its a movie, but come on!

Lots of car chases, comedy, and fight scenes!

Loved the Goldeneye sequence on the highway.

50 Cent did a great job playing a hired goon.

The Brock Lesnar looking guy was freaking HUGE!

I'm so glad they didn't re-use Letty being a mole to infiltrate the main villain's group angle again.

The cameo appearance by a major character from a past film to tie in things was cool as well as somebody's heel turn. I also marked out for The Doomsday Device.

Luke Evans did a good job playing Shaw, but I think Luke Goss would've been a better choice for the role.

I lol'ed at the endless runway.

The cliffhanger ending was bittersweet. I was glad to see The Man a.k.a.
Jason Statham playing Owen's brother, Ian, who drops Letty's necklace
, but it also showed my favorite character does not survive. :(

We've known for 3 films he'd die.
I think that lessened the blow

Ahhhh, that's a shame. But Lin is 100% right though. I have a lot of respect for him, but I hope he is wrong for this next installment. I don't want it sucking because it was not enough time.

Freaking universal couldn't wait one more year. Greedy idiots.

This is true, but if you love Han like me and some other fans do....

You think of ways on how he can actually still be alive like Letty. And once they did that after credit scene, I thought he was going to escape some how. Felt happy for a second, then bang! It got me, tbh.

I got a question about this movie after watching it that has been really bugging me.

I remember a scene when they said something like this:

Shaw and [Someone] worked for Braggo OR Braggo and [Someone] both worked for Shaw.

Who was that someone?

Or did a mishear it was just mentioned that Braggo and Shaw worked together?

[spoilers]Braga (the crime boss from Fast and Furious 4 who "killed" Letty) was working for Shaw.

Movie was ****ing awesome! Some of the Rodriguez plot dragged for me a bit, and I wish we got a bit more time with some of the side characters but overall great flick. Easily ranks up with Tokyo Drift and Fast 5 which remain my favs.

Only thing I'm pissed about...

Is Gisele and Han. They were my two favorite characters. Wish they had left them open for Fast 7. With this series who knows though...
Any word on Tokyo being a location in 7?

AMAZING!!!!!!

Might be my favorite over Fast 5 already...

So fun, entertaining, beautiful shots (Lin rules), comedic (Tyrese's was the stand out), heartfelt (Dom/Letty) and nostalgic (all of the call outs to TF&TF, TD, F&F, and F5).

End credits was neat and all but felt rushed. Watched all the films with TD last, last night and all you can see was someone checking the driver's seat. Could be ok for retcon if that bystander found nothing... Hurt they tried to hide Lucas Black as much as possible, not even a 'flashback' cameo.

7 will be amaze-balls. I'm sad Lin is done, some of the photography was the best I've ever seen in London (outside of Sherlock/Luther), especially for the silver screen.

Yes, some 'physics' were broken but they have always been on that fine line; Oil Tanker, Train attack, etc... though Dom should have at least have had a sore back after that landing, he didn't have a bat-cape to break his fall haha.

I'd be surprised if any 'comedy' can out do this film. Holy, was it funny. Straight gags and jokes, too. Tyrese/Ludacris/Sung are great for playing off each other.

I'm just so amazed at how this series went from summer 2001 to here. An outstanding first film, to a dud-dish sequel, to random off-shoot (that I respect but Lucas about killed the film, while Sung saved it), to a 'reboot' trilogy starting with not one better, but two better sequels following it.

Rankings:

Furious 6
Fast 5
The Fast & The Furious
Fast & Furious
2 Fast, 2 Furious
Tokyo Drift

I actually wouldn't mind seeing what Wan does with the next film. He makes some interesting choices when it comes to the visuals in his films.

His will feature ghost cars as the villains.

Just seen this film. It was awesome! The action was bananas! Great humour and the stunts were just crazy. Going to see this film again. Oh and "Turkish"!!

Saw the movie, but I don't get the Turkish joke. Did I miss something in the movie?

I did appreciate Samoan Thor though.

I don't even have a real review. It was nonsense, pure nonsense...but it beyond awesome. My face practically exploded with joyful badass hulking bi-racial rainbows. It's like sexual chocolate in movie form and I don't even know what that means! If you look up the word badass fun in the Dictionary Fast 6 is the meaning.

I cannot wait for the sequel!

My audience was playing the black stereotype like crazy when
Gina's character betrayed Hobbs and went with Shaw.

It was awesome.

I like all the movies equally, except for 2 Fast 2 Furious (worst one for me). If I have to rank the movies:

1. Fast 5
2. Furious 6
3. Tokyo Drift
4. The Fast and the Furious (1)
5. Fast and Furious (4)
6. 2 Fast 2 Furious

This is the one movie this summer where I actually don't want the audience to be quiet.

Thakyou! I loved when my audience cheered and laughed because I was cheering and laughing as well. These films are better when you see them with an audience.

Somebody is going to get cut if they make too much noise during Superman though.

The movie defines stupidity.

It was all right. Over-edited, stupid, and the action scenes defy physics more times than I could count... that plane sequence in particular pulled me out of the film (like that nuclear scene in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull). There's suspension of disbelief, and then there's a live action cartoon. The Carano/Rodriguez catfight was entertaining, I'll grant you that, but none of the character deaths moved me or anything. And that mid-credits scene again... stupid.

I think I've been spoiled on better films like The Avengers, where you actually root for the characters in addition to seeing things go boom. I couldn't give a rat's ass whether Toretto, Letty or Dominic succeeded or not. That's the sad thing about it.

Ha! Better films like The Avengers??? The Avengers was just as dumb as this film and not nearly as entertaining, with 45min to an hour of dead air. All the cute Joss Whedon dialogue in the world couldn't cover up that movie's flaws. At least Fast 6 knew that it was nothing more than a stupid action film.

I'm glad that post gave me an outlet to go to town on that film. Thanks!

Did you like the other F&F movies? I feel like if you liked at least a couple of them, especially Fast Five, this one should be no different.

@ Spidey: I'm going to say this once: Don't start a flame war. You're better than that. But while we're at it, this film will make most of its money during the Memorial Day weekend, and then burn out quickly. The franchise doesn't have legs at all.

TA managed a 3x multiplier throughout its theatrical run. RT score and word-of-mouth sustained it far more than F6 will. So just stop.

The F&F franchise doesn't interest me at all. I've tried getting into it, but it's the same thing over and over again.

I tried giving F6 a shot with its positive WOM and reviews, but I couldn't enjoy it that much. I was generous with my 5/10 rating.

Stating my opinion isn't a flame war. You brought up The Avengers and insinuated that it was some great intelligent masterpiece in another film's thread in order to degrade that film and I disagreed. I'm well aware of the popularity of both The Avengers and Fast 6. How exactly is reminding me going to change my opinion again?

Can we just agree that both movies were more enjoyable than The Dark Knight Rises? :woot:
