I mean… given that they’re still going up against super spy terrorists (the same one in fact), it’s a little weird to have Hobbs NOT there. Hobbs being there makes more sense than literally ANY of the other main characters, so to have him inexplicably absent is just a head scratcher. When he first pitched the film to Justin Lin, Justin had already written a treatment, and Han being alive was not included. The original idea of Justice for Han was that Han was permanently dead, but Sung Kang would be in the film strictly in flashbacks. Elle, just her by herself, would join the franchise as Han’s surrogate representative.

What Vin wants, Vin gets! Nah but seriously, Daniel Casey says that the person who went heavy on the idea that Han should be alive was Jeff Kirschenbaum. He used to be co-president of production at Universal, and was apparently, out of all the studio execs, the biggest cheerleader for the franchise.

After a strong start in Japan last session, F9 had a slight 24% drop to cume $20.1M. The offshore cume is now $509.3M — in line with Hobbs & Shaw at the same point — and $681.4M global.

Yellowstone is an amazing show and Cole's Rip might be my favorite character on the show (on par with Costner's John Dutton).

Well yeah, no one needs to but she’s talented and even though Hollywood is ageist as ****, there SHOULD still be roles for women well past their early 40s (because we all know, men keep getting lead roles well into their golden years).
