I honestly think the first 4 films are mostly kinda bad, from Fast Five onwards they have found the right balance for the franchise.

I have tickets to see this tomorrow but I might sneak and see it late tonight also. The first time I saw Fast Five it was with a packed crowd and it was one of the best movie going experiences I ever had.

The first film was alright. But then again Dom, Brian, Letty, and Mia were all in it. The "all hands on deck" approach that these films have taken are what really makes it fun. "Let's just get everyone back that we can."

I heard some rumbling about the next one being set in
NY
any truth to that?

It was good. Not as good as the last couple because honestly, they really have made Dom the Hulk.

He can survive a head on crash with no airbags. Lift cars. And even do the Hulk stomp and crumble the ground beneath him.

But they pretty much made the FX for Paul seamless. It's noticeable in the end when he's just in the shadows. But the ending with him was perfect.

Kurt was also great and badass. He looked like he was having a great time.

I watched it last night. Very good. Not as good as the others because they tried to make it this one much bigger and more explosive. But it will still very good.

Some of the things I didn't like:
- They didn't show the race between Lucas Black and Vin Diesel. No confirmation to who actually won. That was one race I always wanted to see.

- The Shaw brothers are still alive. Little Shaw is in the hospital and will probably be alive. Big Shaw is in a cell. I wish they killed him off so the movie can go back to the street racing scenes. Dom and his crew have been working with the FBI and CIA for too long.... At this pace, NASA is going to take Dom to outer space.

- I felt the movie wasn't closed as well as the others. I think they needed 5 more minutes for the whole crew. They closed Bryan and Dom pretty well. But I would've liked to see the whole crew say their goodbyes and see what they are up to, sort of like they did in Fast 5.

Maybe they didn't have a longer closing is because the Shaw brothers are still alive and the crew will return without Bryan. I thought this was the team's final mission, so I thought they would all retire. I think they are going to return without Bryan this time.

It was really hard to watch those final Paul Walker scenes with his family.

RIP Paul Walker!!!

Goddamn movie up here got me shedding tears. :csad:

I love how corny and awesome the Rock is. The guy got me cracking up.

That line he gave to Dom in the hospital about Shaw's mama had everybody in the theatre rolling.

You guys know which scenes they had to do without Paul Walker?

From my understanding, they had all his dialogue scenes, but for some of the racing scenes they used his brother but just didn't show his face?

Great movie... But it's going to have be feeling down for a few weeks. I'm not sure if I can watch it again.

For Tokyo Drift to qualify for the third movie curse the first two films would actually have to be good and it would need to be the denouement of a trilogy which it isnt. The Fast and Furious is an enjoyable Point Break with cars, but it isn't some revelation or classic. And 2 Fast 2 Furious is juvenile ****. So Tokyo Drift didn't exactly sink a rising franchise. If anything it performed exactly as well as anyone could have hoped given the fact that neither Vin nor Paul were in that one. Diesels cameo doesn't count. Plus drifting is a lot more palatable than Roman "I'm Hongry, Cuz" Pearce and Ebonics Brian.

Now, seeing as Fast Five is considered a soft reboot of the franchise and the one that rejuvenated the franchise, and considering that Furious 7 wraps up the main character of the franchise and considering that the box office of Furious 6 was better than Fast Five and that Furios 7 is on track to have a better box office than Fast Five and Furious 6 I would say that it more than qualifies for the honor of breaking the third film curse.

Just my 2¢.

3% Marvel Stock is in the mail.

Cheers.

I'm surprised

Ian Shaw lived. I also thought there would be a Han and Giselle flashback since they were listed in the credits.
.

So will the next movie have the original crew again? I thought this was the last one with the original crew and the next movies will feature new characters. But it doesn't look that way.

Perhaps the new crew being led by the Rock and Kurt Russell while Dom's crew is all retired.

Not only that... but....
Did they even mention if his brother Owen Shaw died? I don't think he did.

Looks like the next movie will feature BOTH the brothers.

No more Shaw brothers. They've had their fun. Only way I see bringing them back is to have a spinoff Hobbs movie. Which, btw, Hobbs needs his own movie.

While Fast Five discovered the right balance for the franchise, it directly continues from the previous film, it can't realy be considered the start of a trilogy. In fact, films 4,5 and 6 were kinda planned as some kind of trilogy by the Director, put aside the post credits sequence in 6 and they kinda are a trilogy.

I love how the IMDB credit for the teacher who picks up Jack in the beginning is "Hot Teacher". She definitely was the hottest chick in the movie.

If they want Statham to appears again, I can see Dom forming an uneasy alliance with Deckard to deal with a much bigger threat, like Thor and Loki in The Dark World.

Elsa Patacki was wasted again.

I want to see more of her.
I really like Elena.

And Elsa looks gorgeous with short hair.

The HDTGM podcast did five and six.

Worth a listen after seeing those movies. They will also do one for this.

curious to know where people have seen the film would rank it amongst the franchise...
