He was ok. I liked his brother better. Statham was basically just the Terminator. Showed up whenever an action sequence was needed.

So basically just like every other Statham action film? :woot:

I thought this was the best of the series. Great tribute to Paul Walker at the end. I almost wish they'd end the franchise here. I think the team had a good run. Vin Diesel's pushing 50, how many more can he possibly do? On second thought, I wouldn't mind seeing a spinoff movie about Hobbs since The Rock is stealing this franchise. His more limited screen time in this was my biggest complaint about the film.

Didn't care for Iggy's small part, and was hoping for a little more Rhonda Rousey and Lucas. Still thought he would of wanted in on the fight against Han's killer, not sure why they gave him a small, small part.

Considering the fact that Lucas Black's character is still supposed to be in high school (even though he looks like he's 40 now), I don't think Dom would have let him tag along on such a dangerous job. Personally, that part stuck out like a sore thumb to me given how much he's aged in the past 9 years.

Also, it was weird seeing Gal Gadot's name in the opening credits and she only showed up in a photograph (not counting the tribute to Paul at the end). I was expecting a flashback or something.

Maybe the next film takes place 5-10 years after this one and that could be help with Lucas aging and not being a teen anymore.

If Statham returns then the story could be that he finally escapes somehow and goes after everyone while the crew is retired who then of course return to action with Hobbs while Bryan has left with Mia for the safety of the kids.

This movie kicked ASS, man! Nothing really more to say than that. It was pretty much everything I wanted it to be. Statham was an awesome villain, damn near unstoppable and his fight scenes were very satisfying.

This was a great send off to Paul Walker and the series....eventhough we all know Universal will not be able to resist milking this franchise for all its worth. This was an incredibly, fun, balls to the wall, crowd pleasing popcorn movie. Cant wait to own this on Blu Ray.

This movie was so...so bad. I was awestruck by how horrible it was. The franchise really has fallen off a cliff since Fast Five, but I will say that they did right by Paul Walker with the heartwarming send off.

Holy crap. One of the very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very few!

I wanna dip your post in bronze, and place it on the wall as a conversation piece because it's so rare and valuable.

*shrugs* Be that as it may (and I do think you're overstating), doesn't affect my take on things.

The movie was pretty cool. I think I liked number 6 a bit better. Owen Shaw was a better villain than his big brother, imo. And I liked the runway finale of 6 better than the finale of number 7.
But the send-off for Paul Walker was good.
7.5/10

:( Didn't get to make it to my movie tonight so it looks like I'll have to aim for tomorrow

Re watched Tokyo Drift just now. Not that it matters but there is no way Sean would not have seen Stathom walking away from Han's wreckage.

Well yeah I mean it's common sense that given the scene as it was presented in Tokyo there's NO WAY he would've gone unnoticed...

Did anyone else prefer the chase scene in the mountains to the final battle?

just got back. I noticed two scenes with pauls cgi'd face

- after torretto says "you miss the bullets?" In Dubai

- when the crew cuts to a shot of Paul walker when they get back to la

Yeah these guys became superheroes. No way they could have survived 90% of these things. Especially rolling down a mountain

Everyone laughed when torretto and Ramsey flew in mid air before one car got impaled

I did until Shaw showed up. The writers really chose some bizarrely puzzling times for that guy to make an entrance. His persistent appearances made the subplot with the MacGuffin seem moot.

I don't know about 'common sense' but it was interesting comparing the Stathom scene from the last movie to the original scene in Tokyo Drift.

The racing aspect and focus of 1-Tokyo Drift was cool but the new direction of heists, insane action and characters appeals to me much more and so I prefer 4-7.

I was awestruck of how f'n awesome this MOVIE is. For a hardcore action fan..this was a special treat!

The scenes that are CGI (face overlay) and audio dialogue from archive:
-he puts his son in the minivan (explosion)
-Abu dhabi arrival
-walking down steps in suit with crew (Abu dhabi)
-missed bullets reply in building after car jump
-crew overlooking LA (very obvious)
-too slow reply to Tony Jaa
-antena scene where he gets signal back for the hacking (obvious again)
-beach/driving scene

Pretty sure I forgot a few as well. It kind of surprised me that the shots that used CGI were in the same scenes and not separate scenes. I'm also really curious to know what his role was originally intended to be. I had read they were making his role bigger and tying it into part 8. Hope the original script leaks at some point. Really intrigued what the original idea was.

Also, it hit me hard that last scene. I got very choked up and teared up. I couldn't take it. Paul Walker will be missed! :(

One thing that I'm not real big on is:
Jordana Brewster seemingly being forced out of the franchise simply because Paul Walker died unexpectedly. That's kind of not fair to her.

She was making damn sandwiches in the first one and became a tech expert in the fifth one. She is hot as hell, but let her be.

With it being revealed that Hobbs has a daughter,I wonder if that will be used as a subplot in the next one, like maybe Statham returns and kidnaps her

Wasn't Kurt Russell originally supposed to be revealed as
Jesses father?
before the tragedy happened and they had to revise the script.

I really think if/when they continue this series they should do a complete overhaul of the formula. I can't really imagine doing another movie with the same cast without it feeling redundant. I mean how much kore an they really do with them? I feel like this movie is what X-Men: Apocalypse will be to the X-Men franchise in that it is the end of an era and now it's time to start a new one. Start fresh, new cast, new direction, new chapter.

Aww, I don't I should be posting in here anymore until I see it (hopefully tomorrow) :funny: I think I just put 2 & 2 together from what TX just said.

Right. You can't have her do a phone call cameo when torretto is in danger.

You also can't have Brian in the background(but out of focus) playing with the kids while she's on the phone.

After all these years Brian would not just stay at home while uncle Dom fights mercenaries.

Now he would, that's the point of the ending and his story arc during the whole movie. Getting used to domestic and family life.

Basically he has retired for good. So yes he can be in the background with the kids and Mia can call Dom at the beginning of the next movie and/or during the end
