I honestly think the first 4 films are mostly kinda bad, from Fast Five onwards they have found the right balance for the franchise.

:funny:....

Call me nuts, but I genuinely liked the first four installments before this franchise decided to jump the shark with a jetpack.

Then go revisit them. I mean whenever a new one since 4 comes out, there are always people saying they suck and complain about the new direction. Just don't see the new ones anymore then because it's just the way it is now and if it jumped the shark for you then why not just stick to the racing era while simply ignore the rest? Get 1-3 on DVD only.

If you like both directions like me then cool but there's no point in keep watching them to complain

Who's complaining? I'm simply pointing out MY opinion about that statement. To me, the first installment is untouchable. The following six (and likely seven) sequels/spinoffs... not so much. I skipped out on #6 and almost avoided #7. The Bryan send off was nice and all but good god these story arcs and car stunts have outdone the Transporter sequels in logic and believability.

Again, that's just me, as a guy who watched the humble beginnings of this franchise.

I thought it was average. Nowhere near as good as the the first film, Fast Five or Tokyo Drift.

I wouldn't even say it's better than Fast & Furious (4) and Furious 6

I'd rate this one almost at the bottom with 2Fast2Furious. The story was weak, the drama was incredibly ham fisted to the point of self parody.

I feel like Tokyo Drift is the only sequel that actually did a credible job of following up the first film's car culture, semi underworld vibe. All the other sequels have been by the numbers heist films really, with each installment getting dumber and dumber.

It's sort of ironic that Han finally dies at the end of Fast 6/ Start of Fast 7, because by that point int eh series he'd survived much worse crashes and situations than the smash from Tokyo Drift.

The heist and going to Azerbaijan and Dubai felt out of place.

Dom was looking for shaws brother then Kurt Russell intervenes with this high tech gods eye detour

And then shaw just pops up in both locations

I consider it the best since the original but I do agree with some that the franchise should end. 7 is more than plenty and the ending is perfect with even one of the movie's tagline being "One Last Ride".

I think they should end it here and do a few spin-off films with Hobbs and Dom&Crew can simply be referenced as retired. Statham can be Hobbs's first villain then go from there to all new baddies.

Pretty much. This screenplay was all over the place. It's as if Vin and the writers wanted to combine two different plots.

Yup the story in this was pretty bad. A proper send off to Paul Walker's character though. I mean, they were warned that Statham's character was ruthless and strikes from the shadows, but in the middle of the story they were sidetracked into two heist action scene wherein both were joined by Statham. Doesn't really strikes from the shadow at all. :csad:

I might be in the minority but I would rank Tokyo Drift pretty high. Unlike some of the recent ones that partly feels like an assault on your senses because they are so long and so over the top, Tokyo Drift worked for me as a more simple and focused story.

Ranking them is kinda hard, but I would probably go something like this:

Fast Five
Tokyo Drift
The Fast and the Furious (the first)
Furious 7
Fast & Furious 6
Fast and Furious (the 4th one)
2 Fast 2 Furious

That makes sense. [BLACKOUT]There was unfinished business between Hobbs and Shaw at the end of this one. That's probably the only reason why they kept Shaw alive. [/BLACKOUT]

Tyrese takes himself pretty serious in interviews and can come off as a jerk.

Years ago, UGO were asking celebrities who would win in a fight between a centaur vs a minotaur. While most celebrities had fun with the question, Tyrese was pissed about being asked.

They didn't include him in this compilation but this was the idea behind it.

Nic Cage handled that like a champ.

It's interesting that the "silly" guy takes himself so seriously in real life. I can't imagine he fits in with the likes of Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson on set, as they're extremely nice guys.

does anyone feel like the ending was filmed weeks ago? and all the actors (besides paul of ofcourse) know he's already dead?

Tyrese's close up on the beach looked fake somehow

It felt like they were breaking the fourth wall

I don't think Tyrese's shot looked fake but that scene was definitely filmed after Walker's death

Hated this. Thought I was gonna love it and dragged my whole family to this. I gave Fast Five a 7.5, FF6 a 7/10, this one a 4/10. Poor villain, sloppy fight scenes, repetitive car chases with lots of CGI, cheesiest melodramatic stuff. Yeesh. james wan was out of his depth in this one, I really missed Justin Lin. Only Positive I could think of was the Caucasus Mountains scene.

The only Wan-ism I saw was mostly Shaw acting like a movie monster. He was more or less supernatural.

What role would she have though?

In addition you have to wonder if she'd want to be around without her on-screen husband. Then they'd have to explain away where Brian is. Unless you'd be cool with having his brothers continually stand in for him...

Well that's the thing, Brian WOULDN'T be out of this franchise if it weren't for Paul's death. I just don't like the idea of them going to her and saying "yeah, we know that you had no plans on leaving, and we were going to keep you around. But since Paul's gone, we have to let you go.

And yes, I'd be fine with them bringing her back and just hand-waving Brian's absence away. It's not like this franchise isn't ridiculously implausible enough as it is (that's part of the fun of it).

How were the theater crowds for you guys? My theater ate this movie up and loved it, you could tell by the "oooh's" and "aaah's" and uproarious laughter during the comedic scenes. At the end everyone applauded. I personally love theater experiences like that, it really enhances the movie as a whole for me.

Well Dom and co are essentially superheroes now (they're impervious to harm unless the script specifically demands it, ala Han and Wonder Woman, and can defy the laws of physics at will). And Michelle Rodriguez apparently has magical "come back from the dead" powers. So Termina-Statham isn't big a stretch. :cwink:

With it being revealed that Hobbs has a daughter,I wonder if that will be used as a subplot in the next one, like maybe Statham returns and kidnaps her

Since the series is already OTT, I say make her into another HitGirl. She's got the attitude down, so why not go for the rest of the package?
