Days of Future Past Favourite moments in 'X-men: First Class'

Loved the whole movie, but one of my favorite scenes is when [BLACKOUT]Hank turns into Beast. [/BLACKOUT]

-Moira at the Hellfire Club and sees some mutants!
-The recruitment scene
-Wolverine's cameo. I liked it because I always say "Go **** Yourself" when I'm mad at someone.
-Professor X and Magneto catches Emma Frost
-Mystique transforms into Rebecca Romijn! It was amazing because Rebecca Romijn played Mystique in the first X-Men movies.
-The training montage. Banshee was amazing!
-The climax scene where Profesor X gets hit by a bullet (amazing amazing scene).
-The scene where the FBI people are talking to Moira and Moira said that she could only remember a few things like a kiss. It was funny.
-The last scene where Magneto recruited Emma Frost!

I really liked Rose Byrne in this. Fassbender and McAvoy are a given. The "adults" in this film were very good, save for January.

Fassy's sexiness. I was in awe.

Simple moments that I liked:

- Erik wagging his finger at the Swiss banker when he tried to push the alarm button.

- Charles swinging the long-neck beer bottle thinking that Moira was talking about his chugging.

- Emma freezing out Charles (the first time when he didn't know she existed) and the diamond "wall" showing up in his head.

- When Erik said "kinky..."

- Emma being bored while making the illusion with the Russian military guy.

- Hank tearing up when his foot momentarily became ordinary.

- Both Hugh and Rebecca's cameos!

But the scene that I absolutely loved in the movie was when the bullet hit Xavier. The whole theater went silent and I almost choked up a bit before any of the dialogue even resumed. And the fact that it was at that moment that Erik didn't care about the missiles anymore made it all the more poignant. I am SO GLAD that I didn't have that scene spoiled.

Maybe I picked up the scene wrong (and maybe it's been mentioned before) but with Xavier having shut Shaw down, he basically had to either keep holding him and let Eric kill him, or let him go and... well, let Shaw kill them all.

Considering he's so anti-killing, he really was in a lose-lose situation. That was a pretty deep moment for me...

But the training-Eric satellite, Argentina bar and raising the sub scenes were the biggies for me.

A little moment that made me smile was Beast grabbing Eric; not a big deal but yeah, "let the beast out" FTW :)

Honestly, I liked it all.

The only thing raised on here that i can see has some validity as a question is why Emma Frost didn't break out of her cell.

The way I read it is that since she showed she can carve through the glass at any time, but chose just to cut out a circle and utter that arrogant line, is that she was biding her time confidently waiting for Shaw's plan to succeed and for him and Azazel to come and get her. I will concede that another line of dialogue would have made that more clear...

Technically I think her diamond form would shatter if they took a shot at her, because what Magneto did.

I liked Azazel's fight scenes and I liked how Emma Frost was a well established telepath unlike Jean/Xavier in the original trilogy, I like her ranger of powers, mind manipulations, psychic blasts

Magneto, Magneto, Magneto.

HE is my favorite superhero (thats how I consider him) character and he was done SO well by the writers and actor. I thoroughly enjoyed this film and will return to see it again I am sure. I am so glad that it wasnt filled with cheese.

Again, Magneto for the win.

I think in any other incarnation, no matter how hard Magneto squeezed the bed post around Emm'a neck, I don't think it would've affected her.

Despite this, I didn't mind the creative decision to make it so that Emma's diamond skin was easier to exploit and possibly shatter.

In that effect, then they never showed off how her diamond form made her slightly invulnerable but rather only as a means to stop telepathy. Not a major complaint, but the cracking did make it seem like her diamond form was kind or weak.

She moved around easily while in diamond form, so it had to have natural lines of weakness in it, the equivalent of joints...

My favorite moment in the film is the montage when Charles and Erik recruited other mutants. The scenes coupled with the music were fantastic. Plus the surprise cameo!

- Banshee's scream when he fell
- Azazel's first appearance, kinda scary
- Emma Frost blocking Prof X mind.
- Magneto controlling the chain/anchor.
- Emma Frost trying to escape from Magneto and Prof. lol

Really great choices.

Everything Fassbender did was my favorite part of the movie, but one of my favorite scenes of his was in the bar in Argentina. That demented feigned glee he projected as he told the pig farmer and tailor about his parents was glorious, imo.

But my absolute favorite part of the movie was pretty much everything that happened on the beach, from Magneto's final scene with Shaw onward. Those character milestones were more epic to me than any grand visuals could be.

Absolutely!!! The way that scene played out, the drama, the way Magneto finished him, the dialogue, I put it up there with the Batman/Joker Interrogation scene for just sheer atmosphere of the moment.

I love Kevin Bacon to begin with, but Fassbender was a revelation as Magneto. That along with the missile sequence and the final stuff between him & Xavier, man, I'm just speechless. I had no idea this movie would be this good. At all.

I'll try to go for some not mentioned (although there will be overlap).

-Kevin Bacon storming CIA HQ "Yes, yes, but where are the more evolved people?"
-Sebastian Shaw in general--the first Marvel film nemesis in a long time to actually come across as a formidable enemy.
-The Angel vs Banshee flying dogfight. "When will these people learn how to fly?" finally gets answered.
-Michael Ironside. :hehe:
-And, of course:

Every ****ing moment he's onscreen, he's awesome.

I liked how Magneto used the McKellen approved flying technique with the hands and all, it's a minor thing but I really liked that.

I really liked the scene when the X-Kids ( :p ) are all playing around, dancing in the "mutant room".

My favorite line from the film could be when Erik looks at the Nazi knife and says in German, "Blood and Honor. Which will you shed first?"

Others "I would love to kill you. And if you tell them I am coming... I will find you."

My other favorite could be when Erik tells Shaw at the end of how he is his creator. That whole scene was awesome. I got such an awesome vibe through my bones when Erik says, "But..." and does that turn around in that devilish way. But it instantly reminded me of McKellen. He becomes Magneto in that moment. And I loved that.

And Shaw's death. Awesome.

I just love when Erik has that fedora when he appraoched the bank. It brought me back to McKellen in X1 when he wore the same things.

Never in the past XFIlms I could think of so many great scenes:
1. Bar scene with the anticipation of Magnus/Erik kicking Nazi azz.
2. Emma kicks off that general off the boat and Shaw goes, "You are your own God"
3. Emma being bored watching her projection getting it on with the Russian general.
4. Charles and Magnus/Erik and the satellite scene. Kudoes to Michael and James tearing up there and Vaughan allowing two macho characters getting emotional.
5. The scene that got to me was Charles getting shot and Erik dropping everything (yup) to get to him and remove that bullet. And then Erik still showing his dark side by blaming it on Moira.
6. All the greatness of Michael Fassbender. I think of about the Erik/Raven scene where he played Erik weary, and telling Raven he was tired and tried to shoo her away. And then seeing she wanted validations so he convinced her she was beautiful as the real Raven with kissing her. It was sad to think in X3 he rejected her human form rather than accepting her both ways...could that be the possible next storyline for her, finding someone who loved her both forms?
7. Erik and Charles in the stripper lounge looking at each other and going, yup. Only cuz they were going to see a mutant revealing herself.
