The rebels who stole and had the plans are not themselves ending up on back on Yavin, it would diminish the story of Leia, Han and Luke desperate mission getting the plans to Yavin.
Hence the whole fan dream of her ending up with Luke seems like unnecessary rambling fanservice.
When there is likely no next movie for her.
But whatever, I could be dead wrong, you want them to be Rey's parents have at it, I'll drop it.

It seems after all this time we were basically arguing the same side...I guess it's what I get for responding to just the one post instead of reading how it got there...I never said anything about Jyn's character...I don't want that to be the fan dream at all either and never said such thing...

No the theory started when Felicity Jones was casted call me crazy but I believe in the theory. I'm already seeing parallels between Luke/Jyn/Rey. Really if it wasn't for her Luke wouldnt even have a story, she stole the plans, and with the plans he blew up the Deathstar plus MSW reported something interesting about Rogue One.

I don't see all that many to be honest, being the superficial.

-Rey COULD have pulled a Jean Valjean and resorting to stealing or petty crime for the purpose of, SURVIVING. Because she lives a rather Spartan existence and doesn't get enough to eat in general it seems, so she'd could be forgiven for this. But she doesn't. Instead, she crawls through old decaying ships for scrap (which is highly dangerous, potentially even life-threatening work) every day to earn her pay legally. Whereas Jyn is involved in various crime for, unclear reasons.

-Rey keeps to herself and only defends herself when attacked, whereas Jyn seems to actively cause trouble.

-Rey lived a very miserable life, but never lost her basic decency and compassion, wherewas Jyn seems to have a rather cynical "I don't give a crap about anything" attitude.

-Rey was alone from the age of 5, whereas with Jyn it's 15.

-Etc.

They're young, pretty women who have some skills and can fight, but that's ALL that they seem to have in common (at least given the info that we have right now).

What is MSW?

Its short for Making Star Wars. I find it interesting that for the casting for Jyn these top three read for the role.

All three have brown hair, green-ish/hazel eyes/ except for Tatiana Maslany who has brown eyes, and instead of Disney being diverse with Jyn's casting they went for white brunettes with brown eyes/green-ish/hazel eyes.

Always liked that the reasoning behind character resemblance must = relation ignores the evidence that two unrelated actors can look alike.

The inverse is that none of the Crawleys are related, because none of the actors particularly look alike.
