FF 2 Rate and Review Thread

I can't really see why they would go with a drastically different version of Galactus unless they had some bigger plans in store for him later on, to show him in full glory. So I do believe that Galactus wasn't the actual cloud, but just hidden inside.

Let's not forget the helmet-like shadow on Saturn.

IF THE SURFER LIVED, GALACTUS DID!

The Surfer's powers were given to him by GALACTUS! He holds a very TINY fraction of his powers. Galactus is infinitly more powerful.

If the Surfer lived, Galactus did. Simple.

exacta-mungo! maybe galactus was slightly power deprived because he skipped a meal or something...so surfer's attempt delayed his feast on the planet earth, but there is no way he is dead. the surfer imploded and survived, so i'm pretty sure a massive creature such as galactus can survive the explosion.

I also think it is possible he didn't want to the Surfer to die. In the comics, the Surfer is a being Galactus cares for. As he says, he shared the cosmos with the Surfer. Their relationship needs to be touched upon in the spin-off.

is that really a reason to give it a low rating, sure they over did the advertising but it wasnt that bad, it was better than ghost rider and x 3

I would much rather watch X3 over this, it's much more action than this and has less unfunny puns, plus there's SO MANY stupid lines in this movie that were unecessary such as Dr. Doom; "let's all go for a spin!", and of course THE FANTASTICAR, "does this thing have a hemi?" "of course" WHY WOULD YOU NEED A HEMI IF YOU'RE FLYING ABOUT THE PLANET!! jeeeesus, I'm sure Reed would of thought of something more high tech than that. Plus Galactus was RUINED.

Ghost Rider on the other hand I will not even begin to elaborate on. Nic Cage? Come the **** on, he only has ONE facial expression and is TOO OLD to play Johnny Blaze. And he is the WORST actor in Hollywood.

This movie was great better then the first for sure The story was great Begining was good the the middle was good the conclusion was good. Yeah big deal they screwed up Galactus (even though you kinda see his face in the fiery portion of the clouds) but so what the movie still rocked. The point is if you like the first you are definitely going to love the second!!

ew x3 was just horrible, it ruined the whole damn trilogy, at least FF had some decent moments and cooler effects, x3 had ****ty effects, you can see the rope when phoenix is flying( in a very crappy way) for ****s sakes!

Yeah, that sucks that it's already on the net. I've seen that it's already up at one site. And before anyone jumps me, no, I do not watch bootleg movies online. It was on a site where I watch tv show reruns (Heroes and Ugly Betty)

Right, im not the biggest comic buff in the universe but i know a thing or two.

with that said, why the ***** did the surfer know his own name? doesnt he reclaim his memories after choosing not to be the herald of galactus.

why did the board give the surfer his power, thats BS. i read annihilation recently and the same thing with the board happened, the power is in the surfer not in the board.

why was johnny the super skrull?

i absolutely loved all scenes with the surfer as im a big fan, yet he didnt once say "To me, my board". that sucks

why was galactus just a big ball of smoke and fire??? ive read a mighty few comics and you would think they'd give the fans what they want, a giant purple helmet!!!

how could the surfer destroy galactus, in the comics, doesnt he barter with galactus and is banished to surf only in the milky way galaxy and thats when he remembers who he is etc???

let me repeat i liked this movie, id give it a 7/10. But if they say its for the fans and then dont even show the big man himself, what fan is that?

my rant is over, i shall return to reading my comics, roll on the surfer movie.

Keep in mind, I'm not an avid reader of the comic, though I have read issues here and there and have a vague idea of the characters.

I thought the movie was decent...it definitely had some cheese, but the FF never really hit me as a grim and gritty franchise...it had that familial feel with each character holding down their whole schtick...the Mom, the Dad, the pretty boy rebel and the big teddy bear with the orange rock skin. Also, I imagine it's difficult to make this type of cosmic stuff translate well...at least with X-Men, they could avoid all the otherworldly stuff and just focus on evolution. That said, the FF movies have been as how I expected them to be...the Brady Bunch with super powers.

I enjoyed it...I'd buy the DVD and watch it again. Jessica Alba is worth a few more views...even though Sue Storm is supposed to be Marvel's ultimate MILF, I never thought she could look that good. I know many FF fans were ready to hang themselves years ago when they found out who was gonna take the InvisoWoman mantle, but I'm very pleased with the casting...but my hormones could be clouding my better judgement...wouldn't be the first time that's happened, heh. But nah, I actually think she did an ok job in the role...I picked up on the whole "Motherly" vibe that the character is supposed to serve. All the other actors did their characters justice too...I thought Reed was fantastic in this one...pun intended. Torch was cool, and I loved how Thing was reppin' for the Red Sox with his jacket in a few scenes, heh. Favorite moment was when Sue was the female Torch...good stuff.

Special FX were dope...they did a good job with Surfer. I thought Doom was a weak point...he was just kind of "there." I don't think he served a purpose other than giving the FF someone to beat up. I like how they handled Galactus...introducing him, full out, would have been overkill with everything else happening in this movie...the hints of him were good enough for now.

I give the movie a solid B...I enjoyed it.

X3 had effects!?

You mean the Dark Phoenix fi... NVM.

Or what about Storm she did alot like use lightning and ... use lightning.

Wolverine had great SFX he .. healed.


I think X3's idea of SFX is mediocre at best in the VFX industry.

Nothing new and special from what they did in the previous movies.

I've seen the movie twice...rest easy, there are no after credit scene. The only thing is right when the credits start to role (30 seconds in) they cut to a scene (brief but cool) that eludes to the possiblity of more in store!

I disagree. Both films had high and low points. The high points in FF, I thought, were better than X3. And the low points in X3 were worse than what was in FF . . . well maybe Reeds dance number takes the cake.

A bunch of ppl stayed after the credits everyone seemed dissapointed when they realized there was nothing at the very end. I know i was.
