FF 2 Rate and Review Thread

This movie was AWESOME!!!! Totally succeed my expectations. My review is coming soon.

ok, will someone tell me EXACTLY WHERE YOU HEAR THE LAUGH....because the 2x I've seen it......

I don't see anything, and I don't hear anything...

and damn't I'm beginning to feel left out here.....

I saw something that COULD be a sillhoutte...but as for the laugh and a lot of things people are seeing...well...you know what they say...if you look hard enough, you're gonna find something.

Several lines were changed from the trailer to the film too. The F/X were incredible. Sorry Spidey but the action here was better than Spidey 3.

Maybe not action wise, but the CG was 10 times better.. but then again, the CG in the Spidey movies have never been all that great.

Hated the first film, but I must say I really enjoyed Rise of the Silver Surfer - I actually enjoyed it more than Spidey 3, which I didnt think I would.

Two thumbs up!

I just sa Ebert and Roeper and he gave it a mild thumbs down while the guest host gave it a thumbs up.

But yet Roeper gave Nancy Drew a Thumbs up. :ninja: :csad:

What ??!!

Action sequences from Rise of Silver Surfer was not nowhere near
in the same league as Spidey 3 ,which was action-packed
from beginning to end.

anyone thinking differently is purely " up-selling " this FF film.

in fact, this FF movie actually took awhile to get going and
from every trailer preview we saw of this Surfer movie ended
up being bulk of the actionin the entire film.
- At least we got to see a far great deal more of Venom as we never
did from the all-powerful Galactus.
The fans got lied and cheated to on this.

Even Dr.Doom returned appearance was no differently appealing than
the first. .........( they've made him a boring, disinteresting villain )

i was truly disappointed with the Rise of Silver Surfer, i don't
think it's a far different cry than the 1st one.

This movie was far better than the first one. I never really got hyped for this movie b/c I'm not a Fantastic Four fan, but I was pleased with how it turned out. The movie's kinda short and some elements could definitely be fleshed out some more, but it's a solid effort and one for the DVD shelf. :word:

I guess the reason I enjoyed it more than Spidey 3 is, as far as I think, FF2 had a lot less 'filler' in it. There has been a lot of comparisons between the Reed-Dancing and Peter-Dancing but for me, it just worked better in FF2.

The guy was at his bachelor party, dancing with two incredibly hot chicks...I dont blame him for breaking into the powers-bit, especially to impress some ladies who are probably only interested in him because he's loaded.

Pete's dance off in the cafe to...what? upstage MJ was just stupid. His continued Saturday Night Fever walk down the street and groin thrust after buying the new suit...well, I rememeber rolling my eyes and thinkin, "...wow...I could SO be watching a scene that actually makes me care about Sandman, or something that gives Eddie Brock more depth..."

Was FF2 a GREAT film? Jesus, no. But I enjoyed it from start to finish, and really not once was I ever glancing at my watch or giving my buddy next to me the, "You've gatta be kidding me" look. Two things I did in over abundance in Spidey 3.

My humble opinion, of course.

I know this is all opinion based, but ummmm....NO!

Right, im not the biggest comic buff in the universe but i know a thing or two.

with that said, why the ***** did the surfer know his own name? doesnt he reclaim his memories after choosing not to be the herald of galactus.

why did the board give the surfer his power, thats BS. i read annihilation recently and the same thing with the board happened, the power is in the surfer not in the board.

why was johnny the super skrull?

i absolutely loved all scenes with the surfer as im a big fan, yet he didnt once say "To me, my board". that sucks

why was galactus just a big ball of smoke and fire??? ive read a mighty few comics and you would think they'd give the fans what they want, a giant purple helmet!!! :D

how could the surfer destroy galactus, in the comics, doesnt he barter with galactus and is banished to surf only in the milky way galaxy and thats when he remembers who he is etc???

let me repeat i liked this movie, id give it a 7/10. But if they say its for the fans and then dont even show the big man himself, what fan is that?

my rant is over, i shall return to reading my comics, roll on the surfer movie.

...don't be suprised if the next FF film will have with the Skrull world scouting and mimicking the idea of creating the SUPER SKRULL from watching Johnny absorbing the powers of all the FF members...

the surfer vs Galactus battle was as hideously sorry as Galactus' own appearance in the film, IMO.
as with the surfboard being the link to the Surfer's powers: i could only guess that the directors wanted the Surfer's to be " limited " and create an easy way to defeat him.

A much better display and manifestation of the Surfer's powers would have been for the Surfer to fight and easily defeat the entire FF crew
along with a full squadron of military fighting jets, tanks, etc.

For as popular as the FF are in the marvel fan base, this film should have
been much better, quality than what it was the last two films.
Another "underachieving " moment.

So long as Tim Story is directing it, i will never, ever get as hyped up excited about seeing another FF or Silver Surfer film.
...the dude is terrible !

At the end, when Ben hit Doom with that wrecking ball, and knocked him into the ocean, Doom should have yelled "Curse you Richards!" while flying through the air. In fact, Dr. Doom's only line in the next movie should just be him saying "Curse you, Richards!" over and over again...

He called him richards in the movie though while on the board before ge makes the tornado.

Without the "Curse you," before it, it's meaningless :cmad:...I want to see Doom doing, and failing at, really mundane everyday things, and then blaming it all on Reed, ala Twisted Toyfare Theater...example...

Dr. Doom is making a sandwhich...

Doom- Finally, I have created the perfect sandwhich!

A piece of alien crap falls into said sandwhich, Doom doesnt notice and takes a bite. His eyes bulge out of his head in disgust.

Doom- Curse you, Richards!

This is my first post on this site, and I do so because of the negative reviews I read about it prior to seeing it. I saw comments (on other sites) from people who actually get paid to write their opinions, and they made this film sound awful, complaining about everything from the endorsements jokes, the Fantasticar Dodge emblem, the Surfer, Galactus, on and on, blah blah blah!! I didn't expect much, but after it was over, I could not believe the reviewers could be so wrong! There was nothing worth complaining about in this film... oh, you fanboys and girls might want to nitpick about the details, but give it a rest, after 3 spideys, 3 xmen, 1 DD, GR, Elektra, a lot of Batmans and too many Supermans, you gotta know you can't have it all, so be happy with this one, it was pretty damn good!
As an older Marvel fan who hasn't been reading comics regularly, having the ability to see my childhood heroes on the big screen is a real treat, and I thought I too would be unhappy with the Galactus cloud, but it was cool and it was threatening... I thought the people in the audience were awed by it, just like they were when they saw Independence Day, only Galactus was different (yes, there was a ship inside the cloud, that was visible at times, and that made it even better, the audience never knew what the FF were truly up against). But what really got to me was the end, the very end, little kids in the audience stayed in their seats, and when they saw the Surfer, they were saying "He's still alive, he's still alive." They were amazed. And they cared. And that makes this movie good, real good.

Dr. Doom is doing his laundry, separating his whites and colors. After running the wash cycle on his whites, he opens the washing machine to discover his red polka-dot boxers had been unknowingly left in with the whites, resulting in the pink coloration of all of his socks and undies...

"CURSE YOU, RICHARDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Was there an ending after the credits? I didnt stay cause the Hype didnt tell me about it! i really dont want to see it again, that bad.

I was actually hoping Reed would take him out and he would end up screaming that. Ah well. Hope he's back next film.

I'm sure he will. he's the magneto of the FF. meaning he's gonna be in every movie.

Yeah, I remember Story saying something like that.

Next film: More Doom, less Victor.

I hated the first one. Enjoyed this one.

Glad my cousins dragged me to see it. Redeems the franchise and is in my top 3 Marvel movies.
