Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller return as Heat Wave and Captain Cold, respectively along with Victor Garber as Dr. Stein.

I'm quite interested in seeing how these two work with the others. Especially Heatwave. Dude has a few screws loose.

Heatwave seems like a loose canon so it will be interesting to see how it plays out with him being on the team.

I'm curious to see what other villains will appear alongside the duo of The flame & The Frost!

I'd think that Golden Glider might pop up at some point as well. With Snart, I'd imagine that it'd be a mixture of "they're offering me something," and "if Vandal Savage wins, then it's bad for everyone, including me." Snart is basically just a bank robber with a neat gun, he doesn't want to destroy/conquer the world or anything.

Will they turn Captain Cold into Citizen Cold?

A Legion of Doom mention is a must for his future.

After what he did in Rogue Air the writers have cornered themselves into writing him working with the heroes. The whole point of Rogue Air was it was completely stupid to trust this guy.

Not really. I can see Snart trying to play the long con but over time grows a connection to the rest of the team that he rethinks what he wants.

Or, as I said before, he sees Savage as the biggest threat at the moment. Sort of the "enemy of my enemy is my friend, for now" kind of thing. Or they're just paying him.

Well Snart doesn't care about money, only the thrill. And it's not that he's pulling a con, the heroes know he can't be trusted. I mean Barry should have already known he shouldn't be trusted and "Rogue Air" was stupid, but they should at least be consistent with the lesson learned. Otherwise it makes him look like an even bigger idiot.

In the Fight Club short film they did, when Heatwave sees Firestorm he practically has an orgasm. I heard he once tries to tap into the firestorm matrix too. I'm pretty sure that relationship is why he's been included.

As for Cold, the guy is cool and has been known to be on the side of good previously. He'll stab them all in the back at some point though haha.

I really wonder what Heat Wave is supposed to contribute, though. At least Cold is a clever rogue, on top of having a potent weapon. Heat Wave, anything he can do, Firestorm can do far better. Makes me suspect he's going to be a red shirt.

I hope he's a red shirt. Acting like a psychotic pyromaniac clearly isn't Purcell's strong suit.

Just noticed he wasn't in any of the new footage in the trailer. He wasn't on the rooftop with the rest and all the stuff he was in was either clips from his episodes of The Flash or the superhero fight club.

I was just told that the trailer is more like a proof of concept and just cobbled together to show of to advertisers.

Purcell was probably just not available to participate in the filming on the day.

I'm guessing Arrow and the Flash aren't going to feature in the show itself.

Well Arrow and Flash seem to be there to assemble the group. And at the very least we know for a fact that Flash will aid in the big assault scene. (He even saw it when traveling through the speed force.)

My own dumb theory: Heatwave's purpose in the team is that he becomes the next second-half of Firestorm.

Captain Cold is just there to ensure he doesn't go rogue with his pyromanic antics.

Completely agree, I'm more so intrigued to see how Wentworth Miller's awesome portrayal of Captain Cold gets along with the others, as he has already shown a penchant for killing his partners that fail him, and used his one opportunity when he teamed up with The Flash to double cross him by springing the Rogues gallery in transport to Lian Yu. The 6 minute teaser trailer for this show looked tremendous, to the point where I don't see any way DC's Legends of Tomorrow doesn't become yet another one of my must watch television programs.

Also really interested to see how Firestorm is still gonna be Firestorm without Ronnie Raymond when he is the one that shares the consciousness with Doc Stein. Unless they plain on having the good Doctor get hit with another nuclear type of blast from another particle accelerator that fuses Jason Rusch or Mikhail Arkadin to the Firestorm matrix with Dr. Stein. Really looking forward to how they explain this, I just wish I knew why Robbie Amell was not going to be a part of the show.

In bits of useless trivia, Wentworth Miller does a thing on Facebook he calls Mailbag. Here is a fun Q&A about Captain Cold's favorite ice cream:

Q: favourite flavour of ice-cream? (my 7 year old nephew asked me to ask you that! he's a big fan of #CaptainCold and he assumed ice-cream was his fav food!)

A: Excellent question. And assumption. I'd never considered what Captain Cold's favorite food might be. But "ice cream" feels right. Vanilla Bean maybe. On a wafer cone. With rainbow sprinkles. Just because.

Speaking for myself, my favorite/favourite flavor/flavour depends on a) what's available and b) mood. When at Ye Olde Neighborhood/Neighbourhood Ice Cream Shoppe, I tend to gravitate toward anything involving Oreos, chocolate chips, or Heath Bars. At home in my freezer, you're likely to find a pint of Ben & Jerry's Milk & Cookies or Half Baked.

So there you go. Rainbow sprinkles.

And according to the DC Super Pets Character Encyclopedia, Captain Cold has a husky (of course), named Admiral Peary. ...Admiral Peary was thought to be the man who first found the geographic North Pole (although new research indicates he probably missed it by about 60 miles).

I need all of this to become canon.

If somebody had told me 3 years ago that we'd have a Flash show with a damn-near spot-on and amazing Captain Cold and then a spin-off where he is one of the stars I would have asked for their dealer's contact information.

Snart and Rory (I call them the Sweathogs of the Legends, with Sara an honorary member as well) are the real heart and soul of this show. It would be cheesy crap without these two; great conceptual decision to have these two characters, or two villains in general, as part of the team.

I don't know if it would be THAT cheesy. The white canary is really a cool character and I dig the ATOM who has now more room to play with subtlties.
I agree with you Snartand Rory add something great to the mix, but I think it's a bit of a fan-service here. Having more Rogues would have been cool, or less pushed than having the 2 main Rogues of the flash show.

This being said I enjoy watching them so much. This is partly why I wish tosee more Rogues in the shows, Flash or DC LoT.
Dominic Purcell is really pushing his acting, I find him fun and perfectly consistent throughout the episodes.

Yourown dumb theory is fun :)

We should really have separate threads for Cold and Heatwave.

Anyway, how heroic do you think Captain Cold will eventually become? Or will he always remain a villain or sorts deep down? Or just stay at anti-hero? Could there come a time when he's a pure hero?

I'm not following the New 52 Flash but I'm sure he ended up being part of the Justice League sometime ago. Take from that what you will.
