Flashpoint - DC Animated.

I have a question. If Barry reset the timeline back to "somewhat" normal which is the new 52, and he and Bats are talking in the cave...Then how come he thinks Batman is a myth in the new 52 JL book? Or is it just one of those things they changed for the movie to make it more powerful?

The scene of Flash and Bats in the cave is present day, the first arc of Justice League takes place 5 years in the past and shows how they all met. (except for Barry and Hal, they already knew each other)

Designs looked like mutated YJ designs, still loved the flick and the after credits scene.

Ahhhhh preciate it.

Bought this today on Blu and I was very impressed. I loved both the design and animation. I know that puts me in the minority here, but then again, I was never a big fan of the Timm/Dini Batman show. It was on when I was a teenager in highschool and there were some great episodes and moments, but on balance I had too many problems with the writing, characters and the fact that the overall "Timmverse" only looked good when the animation was at it's best. Otherwise it tended to look cheap to my eyes. What made it worse was that because Timm's designs were so simple for animation (meaning less money needed for production) this style became a HUGE influence on a ton of action adventure cartoons from the mid 90's until just very recently. I am not a gigantic anime fan per se, but I really liked the influences in design and action here, and that Timm's aesthetics are being replaced by a more detailed and robust look , Young Justice being a prime example.

I never read the book but I enjoyed seeing a Flash centric story and the alternate universe had great ideas all around. Other than it also co starring Batman (you know, that little known underexposed character DC owns) and having the usual unnecessary Bat contrivances (really? The GL ring couldn't deactivate Zoom's tech? Zoom's tech from the 25th century.... How much older and more advanced are the rings? You do the math. But we can't have the Batman just standing around when he could be making some DC hero seem illogically useless. SIGH) I thought the dialogue was sharp and the overall plot well served. Now if only WB would let these things actually be 90min. in length. It would help to flesh out story and characters. My one real complaint is it seems like they now want to push Nu52 into animation and I am sorry, but THOSE are some damned ugly designs.

This Bluray is well worth the purchase price. It stayed true to the dark tone, and I enjoyed seeing Super Topher, Aquaman's "death", and the twist on the Batman mythos. I wish we could have seen more of the Joker and the GL mythos, but I realize they didn't have time for everything. I teared up at the Thomas Wayne letter scene.

I'm just happy to have a Flash-centric release.

Barry Allen can reproduce the accident that made him Flash begs the question why it's not used a plot device more often? Poor writing.

Can't say I enjoyed the overly obvious CGI flash.

Even though he was CGI at the end there, I honestly really enjoyed that bit. I thought it was awesome to see him take off and move like that and scale the buildings and ****, regardless of how it was animated. I thought it was really cool. :woot:

This times 1,000.

That was the highpoint of this for me.

Apart from this, the rest was excellent. Probably the best feature they've done. Still think a show is a better format for stories though. This story could have last for an entire series of JLU and fleshed out the universe based on the comic tie ins. Would have been epic.

Dang...I can't bring myself to rent it...it sounds and looks like a poorly done anime film. :/

Loved it. They should have called this The Flash rather then Justice League

Eh. This was okay. I have no desire to ever watch it again. I really liked the Thomas Wayne Batman, and I liked how violent it was, but nothing else caught my attention.

it begs the question though ''Why wouldn't he give other human heroes his power to aid them in their fight against crime?''

I would like to say, because you need to already be tied into the Speed Force for it to work, but they've shown with Wally and Professor Zoom that its pretty much just a science experiment so he could hand out his powers.

Please look up the DC comics concept of the metagene. No, he cannot just set up an experiment to give others powers. In the FLASHPOINT story, he was already aware of his genetic disposition to developing superspeed powers from the exterior stimuli of the lightning and electrified chemicals.

I liked the movie except for one thing. I HATED how the portrayed WW in this film.

The movie was very good. Admittedly because I am not emotionally invested in the Flash as I would be in Supes or Bats I honestly didn't get a feel of this was a great film. It is the most dark of all the past DC comic animated films which I appreciate. I love anime but the drawings here were pretty crappy. The only people that looked decent in the movie were GL and Captain Marvel. I would give this movie a solid 8. I respect DC for trying to give us stories outside of Superman, Batman, Justice League.

Just downloaded it , haven't fully watched it .
All i gotta say is this.....this movie is bordering on R rating.
The stuff WW does at the end as well as holes being blown in heads :wow:

Yeah, the hole through the head and then having the camera pan to look right through it scene was a bit gratuitous and unnecessary, IMO. Probably my big gripe with it if you could call it that.

C. Thomas Howell was fantastic in the movie. I hated how psychotic they made WW, killing BB actually made me angry at the filmmakers.
