The Rise of Skywalker For those that have seen it, a spoiler thread...

Wait she had a wig?
Yeah. It was actually pretty good, but I could tell in at least one scene. When she is talking to Poe when he arrives back from his early mission. It had some Obi-Wan TPM to it, but not nearly that bad.

It rhymes!

(Somehow I completely forgot about McGregor's horrible wigs in TPM & AotC when I mentioned Ridley's.)

That is news to me never new.

Redeemed ben solo saying **** it to jedi robes or capes or tunics and just grabbing a sweater from the space gap.....powerful.

Yep. I rewatched the prequels last year for the first time in a decade and was shocked by how bad the wigs were. It boggles my mind how Lucas' brain works.
I watch them a couple of times every year, so I am very familiar with the hilarity of the reshoot hair. :hehe:

Maybe you have seen it but the 'making of' the prequels behind the scenes really gives a lot of insight. For example Hayden Christiansen asking for advice on how to act in a scene and George casually explaining "just say it angrily" or something to that effect. The making of is almost more interesting than the actual movies. :D

One interesting thing about Rey's reshoot wig is that it corresponds to scenes that directly reference her Palpatine ancestry. Chatting with Finn on Kijimi and the Falcon, her confrontation with Kylo in the hanger and certain close-ups on Endor. I think it was also used during certain moments on Passanna when talking about the Sith dagger and her "dark" moments.

Makes me wonder if making her a Palpatine was a late addition. It certainly fits with Darth's theory that she was originally intended to be Ben's sister. Is there any concrete evidence for that or just an educated guess?

Yeah, I also find it hard to believe that she was originally conceived as being Palpatine's secret granddaughter.

Man, this whole film (and overall trilogy) was a big mess. Who in their right mind thought that it would be a good idea to have Rey revealed as being the Emperor's granddaughter? I mean the implication of him having a son, let alone a good one, is enough material to cover a movie on its own.

And I'm sorry but there's no way you can convince me that this film doesn't devalue the previous six films under George Lucas's tenure. Anakin was envisioned and written as being the destined Chosen One who would bring balance to the force by defeating the Emperor. So the idea that his sacrifice meant little to nothing and that Rey is now the one who truly brought real balance is absolute b.s.

If "The Last Jedi" was infamous for tainting Luke Skywalker's character then "The Rise of Skywalker" will be infamous for having tainted the entire Skywalker Legacy.

As mentioned before, for the first time in its long history, we have NO living Skywalkers left anymore. It seems like Disney created this trilogy simply to destroy the Skywalker legacy and empower the characters that they were responsible for creating on their own.

I love that she is a papitain makes so much sense about the best idea ever. Still remember this video and so glade is true.

Palpatine being the main villain for 9 films is somewhat of a joke. The Star Wars mythology is so rich that they could have picked anyone else as new main villain for this trilogy. However, that would have required some originality which is something we know that the folks in charge sorely lacked.

What was the point of killing off Hux and replacing him with Richard E. Grant?

I'm definitely thinking it was now. My friend saw the leaks for this online and he said something about Rey originally being a clone.

Few questions for the more well versed in Star Wars lore.

(By the way this isn't me criticizing the movie just more questions I thought either weren't answered or maybe I missed.)

1. Rey being Palatine's daughter

This one was more just a inquiry as I just never pegged Palpatine as having any sort of relationship. Is that something that is ever touched on in other star wars media? And if so do we have any idea who he had a child with?

2. Why does she refer to herself as a Skywalker at the end?

Maybe I just missed something here but I didn't really get that bit, granted I know she's probably not gonna want to say "Im a Palpatine" with a big smile on her face but she isn't a Skywalker right?

3. The whole Rey/Kylo being able to interact with each other surroundings during a vision

Think I have my own answer to this one but just wasn't sure if this was explained by them having that force connection being the reason.

My opinions....

1. Palpatine created an army of millions of clones....so the idea of him manipulating DNA to create a super Force wielder is absolutely feasable to me.

2. I see it as a couple of things. (A) The idea of people calling her Palpatine is reprehensible to her. (B) She has always wanted to be part of a family....she is extremely strong in the Force....the name most widely associated with the Force is Skywalker....so she chooses to be called by that name.

3. I see it as a result of her DNA manipulation.

Are you going to run these threads into the ground with your usual antics?

Fixed #1 for you. I'm not sure about your actual question, though. The actor who played her father is 30 and Daisy is 27 and was 23 when The Force Awakens came out. That would put the birth of Palpatine's son prior to any events of the original trilogy. Not too long after the birth of Luke and Leia, actually.

#2. To reject the emperor one last time and to honor the Skywalker name. She was more like them than him, anyway.

#3. Ben and Rey were a dyad in the Force. In biology, it's a sharing of DNA. So, I'm guessing in the Force, it's a sharing of power and ability. This explains why Rey was so quick to learn how to use her powers. She was tapped into Ben through the Force. She basically learned through osmosis when they first encountered each other. And, the stronger Rey became, the stronger their bond became.
