Fox really does ruin everything.

I agree that they could've done more. I think they wanted to stick to 3 key war battles for the movie (Rule of three).

There was the first one where Cap saves the soldiers, the one where Bucky Dies, and the final battle.

I wasn't really impressed with the fight choreography in CA:TFA honestly. Johnston is ace when it comes to "action" scenes, but the actual fights were pretty lackluster.

I didn't think the Montage was that great either. It certainly wasn't perfect but was a great, fun movie IMO.

I think if they didnt have him freeze at the end it would have been better. If I was doing these movies I would have him freeze in the third movie and let Avengers tell his modern stories for now. That way you have more time to expand upon the unique setting of Marvel's WW2, you can build up the Steve/Bucky bromance

TIH showed us more of a Super soldier in action than Cap did

The moment Steve became Cap, the movie fell apart for me. Red Skull had no meaningful interaction with Steve, Bucky's death fell completely flat, no reason was given why the audience should care about the Howling Commandos, and Red Skull has one of the worse defeats in a comic book movie.

I really love the first half of Cap but the Avengers movie is what keeps TFA from being completely forgettable.

I agree...it seemed as if as soon as he got the SSS it became:"lets get this guy frozen"

Yes. I don't find Marvels movies groundbreaking but people hold Marvel Studios in a higher regard because they've been more consistent than any of the studios that release comic book movies while already staying more faithful to the material than others too.

They may not be looking to reinvent the wheel, but consistency it's nice knowing that I can go see whatever this studios makes (so far) without worrying if it would suck or not.

That was never going to happen, though. In my opinion, Captain America's charm is more interesting in the present day than WWII. The man out of time concept is something that's much more interesting and I hope it's explored well in The Avengers and Captain America 2.

while I know it wasnt going to happen Marvel had a chance to have its cake and eat it too....they could have told WW2 Cap stories and modern Cap stories...a plot hole that will have to be dealt with on all solo avenger movies will be "why doesnt he get the Avengers to help"

Yea, I love the MU movies so far. They get the important stuff right. Thats not to say they couldn't be better.

I consider Iron Man 2 a misstep. If Fox had Stark pissing in his armor fanboys would have ripped that movie a new one. But Marvel has mostly gotten a pass because of the promise of teh Avengers!!1!1!1!!!!one!!!

It's really a crappy stand alone movie and fails really hard at being as good as or better than its predecessor in any meaningful way.

It gets a pass, IMO, because it is sort of touching on his uncontrolled drinking and the results thereof. Many of us would like to see that aspect of the characters struggles and in a way (even though barely touched on) was a nod to his alcoholism. It wasn't just there for silly comedy.

While not as good as the previous one Iron Man 2 was still a very decent film, and you know what?
Incredible Hulk wasn't even as good as IM 2, i liked it and it was also a decent film but what Ang Lee's Hulk got right TIH didn't.
Don't jump on this but i consider Ang Lee's Hulk story and directing superior, yet it just wasn't the hulk people were expecting

TIH is up near the top to me. Its infinitely more re-watchable than most other CB movies. I know what you mean though. Angs Hulk had a depth and emotion to it. TIH was a more typical Marvel movie, lite and summer popcorn fare. I loved it though.

Lee did a better job with the pacing of the action. I didn't walk out of the theatre wishing Hulk had gotten more screen time.

I honestly believe both movies would have been better if they didn't make Hulk a mute. The title character was nothing more than a special effect.

I thought the fight scenes in Cap were awesome. I love stylized action.

What stylized action?

Cap putting his shield infront of his bike? Cap getting cornered by the Hydra soldiers and not doing anything? Red Skull getting eaten by that cube thing?

No, it gets a pass because it is something that is in Stark's character to do. He was drunk and acting like a *****e, showing signs of his self destruction.

That's not a plothold at all. That's an easy answer: They have their own problems to deal with. That's an acceptable answer in the movies like in the comics.

I mean, the movie had stark in the ending of The Incredible Hulk, but no one asks why Iron Man wasn't in New York to stop Abomination.

Iron Man 2 wasn't bad, and Stark pissing in his armor is very within his character. He's a self-destructive *****e at his worst.

And to be honest, the people who have the biggest problems with Iron Man 2 are the Marvel fans themselves. It is Marvel's weakest movie, but still not a bad one to me or the consensus.

The entire movie is stylized.

The fight by the tanks was badass. If you hate the movie, then you have no soul.:awesome:

Other than a bunch of "cool" acrobatics that lead to nothing but a beating at the Hulk's hands, what did Blonsky do that was so much more impressive than Cap?

Blonsky even if he was beated by Hulk was cooler while fighting him than steve rogers in the war

acrobatics which is part of Cap's thing....fast healing....ran faster...much faster than his troops...moved fast enough to avoid the hulk

what did cap do?
