Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns Animated - Part 1

really?

i enjoyed Knightfall a hell of a lot more than the Death & Return of Superman

Each to their own but I don't think Knightfall is anywhere near as good as Death and Return of Superman. The impact of Death and Return is a hell of a lot bigger than Knightfall.

That figures kinda lame, there's barely any detail to it

You shouldn't expect a lot of detail and articulation from a little figurine sold with the Blu-ray from Best Buy. It's an improvement over the Batman figurine sold with Part 1.

I really think that'd be quite easy to adapt aswell, even though its quite episodic I think it could still be a really good story to tell.

Tbh though I'd prefer Kryptonite to be adapted more, that bit where Superman's stopping the volcano a d the Lava swallows him up is fantastic. Just imagine the moment he comes flying out if the volcano animated, it'd rock.

I've never heard of Kryptonite until now, its definitely on top my Amazon Wish List now. Looks awesome.

Yeah the suit is fine, but the face is just awful!

I thought the Superman with All-Star Superman and Red Hood with UTRD looked pretty good for such a small figure.

And I think the Joker figurine looks pretty good for such a small figurine.

How old is Bruce supposed to be in this again?

Really can't recommend it highly enough it's an amazing book. That Volcano scene is my favourite.

Didn't realise it was small, still doesn't mean I like it though.

Got part 1 and 2 in the mail today!

The Dark Knight Returns - Parts 1&2, back to back.

10/10, Perfection. Christopher Drake's score is absolute bliss, and will be a shame if it never gets a release. Now, onto The Killing Joke & Long Halloween :awesome:

It's getting a release. Drake has been tweeting about it. WaterTower Music is releasing it, and they are mastering it now.

Saw Part 2 yesterday... fantastics film. Loved the ending and the fight with joker was epic

Funny how Year One is my favorite Batman book & TDKR is my favorite animated film.

Can't wait for the score! The carnival track is fantastic & chilling.

Are you getting it or have got it then? Infact have you watched Part 2 yet?

No, I'm not getting that. I already have this Joker action figure:

Yes, I'm very happy with Part 2. I enjoy it more than Part 1. I also enjoy that half of the Dark Knight Returns graphic novel more than the first half.

Oh really? I prefer the first half of the book myself but part 2 of the film was better.

That figurine you have looks great

I always preferred the second half with the Joker, Superman, Green Arrow, plus Batman on the run from the police, Superman diverting the bomb, Batman showing the Sons of the Batman the error of their ways, the black out, having to stop the rioters, etc. So much happening.

Yeah the first half of is very much a focus on Batman, its quite grounded and almost like theres no world outside gotham or at least a very different world whereas the second half us much grander in scale and really embraces the DC universe aspect.

Also I know this is cheeky but could you possibly take a pic from the front of that Superman figurine you have f you get chance.

The Superman figure was called DC The New Frontier Superman (2005) by DC Direct. The Lois Lane figure was sold in a box set called The Classic Silver Age Superman and Lois Lane (2006) by DC Direct. I prefer this Fleischer/George Reeves style Superman figure over the Silver Age Superman one.

Both parts were great! I know they took some liberties with the original story, but the animation and actions sequences between Bruce and Clark were amazing!
