Sci-Fi Fringe Thread - Part 2

great episode. i was expecting peter to teleport to olivia when she called him at the end of the ep.

She's always been great, thank you very much. :o

I'm not saying that she hasn't been great (I think she's been wonderful on this show), just that she was even better than she usually is.

Is that a reference to something?

The "green, green, green, red" blinking lights have been around since the pilot episode, in some form or another. In the Season One episode "The Equation", the lights could hypnotize people into a long trance, and they wouldn't even remember what happened during that period of time.

They've had other uses, as well, but I can't think of them off the top of my head.

Did anyone else notice a humanoid shape left on the ground after the black hole sucked all that stuff in and collapsed? It tore up the pavement and left a shape that looked like it had two arms and legs. Was wondering if i was just seeing stuff lol

It was probably just a civilian that got caught in the energy radius.

No i mean the ground in front of where the black hole opening was had a tall image ground into it like the show creators put it their for ****s and giggles. I deleted the episode before i thought to go back and check for sure.

. . . the ground in front of where the black hole opening was had a tall image ground into it . . .

I saw that too -- but despite the similarity to a human form, I think it was just a random pattern where the asphalt was ripped up and sucked in, exposing the old paving tiles underneath.

There weren't any people nearby, that I saw.

Clever thought -- I didn't think of that at the time, but that would have been shocking and cool!

Maybe he DOES have that ability now (the preview for next week seemed to show him surprising an Observer and getting the upper hand in a fight -- possibly aided by teleportation??)

If the Observers are using time travel then any attempt to merely disrupt their activites upstream (in the future) should have no effect on their activites in the present as the future people would just repair their stuff and reset the time machine to the same date as before... This of course means that you need to kill them completely in the future or find some way to permanently prevent time travel.

Other than that I thought that this was a great episode.

I wonder if after what Peter did. The Resistance will start capturing more Observers & s steal their abilities ?

I really think what he did is going to come back to bite him in the ass. I went into the final season expecting one of the main three not to survive. I wouldn't be particularly surprised if it ends up being him.

I am expecting a time travel reset button if you ask me

That would be cheap. :o

Etta's death was more meaningful than Coulson's.

There. I said it. :o

It's not about how much you care for the character. It's about the effect that character has on those around them.

Emotional impact of Etta's death >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> emotional impact of Coulson's death

Speaking of, they should cast Georgina Haig in the SHIELD TV series.

Coulson's death brought together a god, a super-soldier, a monster, 2 highly trained assassins and a billionaire playboy in armor to defeat a massive technologically advanced alien armada.

Etta's death made Peter throw a temper tantrum and start cutting himself :woot:

but didnt Coulsons death basically help kickstart the Avengers ?

Coulson's death had jack **** to do with it. They would've gotten off their asses when the **** hit the fan anyway. :o

Wow -- nice screen shot! (don't know how you got that so quick, as I can't find any online sites that show FRINGE for free so soon after it airs)

That does look a little too well-designed to be just random paving stones ripped up. But how could it mean anything? -- I think it may have just been the SPFX artists having a bit of fun!

Torrent sites have episodes up the same night that it airs
