Sci-Fi Fringe Thread - Part 2

Ya when he was being questioned by the observer it was brutal. Couldn't help but cringe.

Song of the Resistance.

Different categories. Noble would be Supporting, Cranston would be Lead.

But alas.... the Emmys and their genre TV bigotry. :o

Did anyone else think the cinematography was fantastic, or was it just me?

Towards the end, I began to feel they had packed a lot into this episode. It could almost have been a two-parter.

But then I remembered that it might very well have been two parts if it wasn't half a season. No time to waste when you've only got 13 episodes.

Ya they are definitely trying to streamline it as much as possible and so far it appears to be a good thing

''what on earth, are amber gypsies''
:lmao:

Nobody else finds all this stuff weird?? It's good don't get me wrong, but what happened to the other universe and Walternate?!?!? I can't really remember too well but I think they were closed off maybe? Still, Walternate was the big bad of this show and now it's like the entire show has changed. It's just weird, this isn't the same Fringe from seasons 1 or 2

I feel the same way.
The show is good, but there's a big shift from what we've been seeing so far. I'll miss their lab.
Maybe we'll have a couple of 'flashback' episodes to complete the picture. Like what happened last season with the 'future' episode, but in reverse.

Yea but man, if they had just drug out Walternate and the other universe storyline and built the tension up there correctly enough and thrown in the observers as that x factor in the story like they were before they were tyrants then yea I would feel great right now. But no, for some inexplicable reason these future people who HAVE NO LINEAR CONCEPT OF TIME just all of a sudden decide that we are better off if they control our lives for us? Come on man, these aren't the ****ing Guardians of The Universe, these are the observers, sure September did some questionable things but for the most part THEY OBSERVE. They should have stayed that way. I'm sorry but I LOVE this show, I don't buy all seasons of just anything and I feel like most of last season and now the overall direction of this show now is just wrong, it just is. I refuse to blindly follow what everyone else thinks and be like "Ooooohh John Noble is such an amazing actor, that interrogation scene blah blah blah" NO. I mean of course Noble is always amazing but The writers have done something completely at odds with the mythology that they have established. At least in a sense, I do get that this is Fringe and it needed to go to weird places people weren't expecting but this? Man oh man. I will watch, but I watched Eureka all the way through as well. I wouldn't buy all the seasons of Eureka though, and now just like with Prison Break, I have to buy mediocre seasons to complete my sets. I hate FOX

Personally, I'm gonna wait to see the rest 12 episodes to properly judge the season.

Oh yea me too. I just think things have worked out oddly. I'll defnitely wait to see how everything fits in the end. I know I was missing Broyles and Nina though damn it

Dude do you not remember anything from season 4?! They already established Walternate wasn't a bad guy by the end of the season. Then they had to close down the machine and separate the universe because Bell was going to destroy both to start his own universe with his chimeras. I mean really did you just skip a season because they cleaned all that up very nicely.

The observers aren't from our world and after all the events kept getting messed up they saw that what they perceived to be our right path was no longer going to happen so they decided they would take over and do it their way. I mean its like your bashing it because you didn't watch a whole season and are now confused.

And they already showed in the preview that they are going to go back to the lab.

Nah I watched last season, I just said I don't really remember every little detail. I still think everything I said is still valid. I don't care if they closed the story or not it was the main driving force of this story in my eyes and it just seems weird now. That's all I'm saying, no reason to get so butt hurt

The Observers are a loose end they are wrapping up in the last season (12 more eps to go). It's not really much more complicated than that. They wanted to also raise the stakes as the alternate universe stuff went as far they wanted it to go by the fourth season.

Anyway, this new episode was great. I watched it twice.

Yeah, you really can't expect more from the Alt Universe at this point. They started out as enemies, joined forces with our guys as uneasy allies, and finally parted with them as friends. Perfect arc. Would it be nice to see them again? Sure. Do they need to be at the forefront? No. Not aymore.

The Observers have existed as a part of this series since even before the Alt Universe, and it's about time they pay their dues.

Jasika Nicole is so stunning, a shame she is lesbian.

In other news love the whole episode. Me and my dad cracked up when that little guy was using Olivia as a goddamn table and dropped his food on her lmfao

The book seller from the past (Markham) was so obsessed with Olivia, it's so pathetic and sad... :nono:
