Superman Returns FULL Ottman Score!

The score sounds nice, specially when it uses Williams' themes.

But new theme, the so called Personal Theme, is a note by note rip-off of the main theme from The Village, by James Newton Howard.

AHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!! sho sho.

The theme is great, but another part of me wishes that it was a brand new theme. Its always good to hear something new from time to time..

i downloaded the fileshare version, thats not something that can get me into legal trouble right? I still plan on buying it when it comes out.
This is what I recomend because you have no went on permanent record as saying you did it. Delete it. go to the Recording Association of America page and fill out their amnesty and then send it in. There is a guy in oregon right now who is being sued for a lot of money because one of his daughters friends came over to his house and downloaded a song illegally without his knowing. I think he said they wanted 11,000.00 to settle and becaue he is fighting it they upped it to more. They are tracking illegal downloads through IP adresses, going to the ISP provider and then contacting the person who has the internet account with them.

You know, and don't flame me. It is just my opinion. I just listened to my old Superman 2 soundtrack tape. I hate to say this. I mean I really hate to say thing. I like it better than this score. And trust me, it hurts to say that. Yeah it sounds like it was conducted by a high school symphony, and it is jsut Johns original stuff reworked, but I like it a lot better than this one. And I used to be not so fond of it. It is just much more epic to me.

I was going to buy this thing, and I may still, but I don't know. The more I listen to it the more I am not that jazzed over it.I

i've been playing it over and over for the past couple of hours now.....

its a good track. not a great track, but a good one. highlights are always those that were inspired from John Williams' work. what i appreciate about Ottman is that he has a subtle approach to the familar themes, so in a way its a refreshing take to classic tracks. and i really like the way he is able to weave the classic themes with the new music he has composed for the film.

of the new material that Ottman composed i like track 14. it has the same quality as the elven music in LOTR, very lyrical and subtle, not to mention appropriate for that part of the film when it plays.

8.5/ 10

man i swear track 9 is from hulk it sounds just like it, but o well i love this score.

One thing I noticed--listen at about the 10 minute mark, and then listen to the main theme of the Burton Planet of the Apes, is it just me or do they sound a little similar?

It IS the Planet of the Apes theme but just slowed down a bit.

This is exactly the reason why I hate Ottman and Danny Elfman as composers, it's just the same sh:t day in and day out. :o :down

lol. It's funny how everytime someone mentions Danny Elfman you're there to respond. :D

I believe John Williams would be proud, granted it's not as good as Williams.....but not many people are.

I think I can hear George Orwell turning in his grave right now...

Ottman did just fine, BTW. It's not mindblowingly amazing, but solid overall, more than adequate for this movie's needs.

The arranging sounds a little like Danny Elfman's and also Elliot Goldenthal's work.

A solid 8/10. Not fantastic, but certainly good. Love the new main theme. My question is, why the hell is this only an hour long? They could have fit another 20 minutes in there, especially since this is a 2.5 hour long film. Oh well. It'll be better when its meshed with the movie.

I like this score better than both X movies and Spider-man's. Those two were pretty disappointing to me...he has improved since x2.

A question:

Will the cd on june 27th be for sale everywhere on Earth or everywhere in America????

Because: I live in Belgium and i want buy this cd!

So, can anyone give me an answer on this?

Steve

This may be just me, but I get a Jurassic Park vibe from some moments in the Soundtrack. Its good though.

Oh man, I think I'm going to shed a tear and have chills once the theme sounds in the theater. :( :)

Not even close to Williams' version.

And for those with good ears, listen at about the 1:35 mark - tympani sounds out of pitch; probably just a bad mix job.

Hey everyone Im back

Anyone here the Krypton theme music, like in the trailer, I cant find it :(
