Superman Returns Wrath of Zod

I'm refering from within the fanbase. If you check all the polls on any Superman site (not even SR sites but Superman in general) like Supermanhomepage or wherever, the majority still love SR.

There are a few vocal haters of the film like yourself, even though I'm sure you prefer it the other live action \S/ crap we got in recent years.

But its obvious there are alot of Donner fans.

It was alrite to start the franchaise off on familiar territory... if the Donner stuff continues however.....then that would be bad I agree.

I have a feeling it wont. I'm sure theres alot of executive pressure on Singer to make big changes for the next film.........we'll see if these changes work out for better or worse.

LOL...you have no idea who I am, and where my internet ID has been. Believe me...I know everything thing there is to know about SH and BT.

They know me...ask them...

We dont know Zod's function on SV yet. Hes a ghost in Lex's body. He just wants to rule the earthmen as a God....

Dude! Do you even know who Zod is? That is his prime directive, dude:confused:

Smallville will likely follow the Donner movie version, not the armored Nazi Zod from the damn comics.

In the movies, he simply has dellusions of godhood. Wants to rule Earthmen, make them his slaves.

He doesnt want to preserve Kryptonian heritage on Earth in the films, he hated Krypton and everything they stood for.

I'm the ultimate biatch though...like a madam of unschooled comic geeks. You are probably one, so most def you are my HO:up:

Dude, you need to read a comic. SH isn't up-to-date, and they often shor their bios from the ones obtained from the Bryne era.

Believe me, even Neal Bailey has said that Brianiac is the Eradicator...read that site.

Hello? I linked that site as proof that Eradicator effed Jimmy up....like I said. Just read the article and u'll see it. It was one of Eradicator's first acts on Earth before his FOS was born.

I know my stuff.

And my point is, regardless of Neal Bailey, you and me both know that Al and Miles dont know crap about the comics or Eradicator, so it makes little sense that their version of Brainiac is based upon him.

Jor-El would have made a better candidate for Eradicator but that wont happen either.

I know the Supes sites...I am am/was a poster there. You can't tell me nothing about them. They are spinning like WB and Singer. It's all game and they seem ****ing stupid when you read their posts.

Especially since the 8.5 Neal gave it and the 9.0 Steve gave it...do you really expect to hear proper critcism at SH or BT???????

Get real partna:)

They are the biggest Superman sites, drawing in the largest numbers...so you can get some good poll opinions from hardcore fans there on the boards. Most enjoyed it.

There really is nowhere to go to get a huge group of the Superman hardcore fanbase but places liek those.

The Supes fanbase is segmented. Believe it or not, a huge chunk like the precrisis, alot like Donner, alot are postcrisis nazis, some like everything....Some dont even care about comic continuity and are Smallville fans...etc..

Hello! I said the Eradicator because I know my stuff and that dude, the Buffy Vamp clone on SV, is not Brianiac.

WHEN IN THE HISTORY OF COMICS HAS BRANIAC EVER BEEN ANYONE ELSE'S PAWN??????

Dude...check your own game...you are on some different stuff. Brianiac as Brianiac is doesn't need ANYONE!!!!! The Eradicator does though because he's not as self sufficient as Brainiac.

LOL...Al and Miles might not have know about him but I'm sure Loeb did and since Brianiac was introduced when Loeb was on the team I'm sure his influence over the character reigned supreme...and he knew that was NOT Brianiac, but some kind of hybrid.

Brianiac...essentially is Gus Gorman in SIII. Yet, he hasn't been that for a long time except for in STAS.

Check the bios and facts...I know this because I left that site to come here.

Don't try to school me on SH...or BT.

Wow he uses people as a tools numourous times. I'll name one Lex incident though; since its fresh in my mind.

During the Imperiex saga, when Brainiac and Lex had to ally with each other and part of Brainiac was trapped within Lena Luthor; Lex's daughter.

Another was in his earlier appearance, he was forced to control Lex and other Lexcorp employees when he got his new body after the whole Milton Fine/Dox thing.

Nice to hear. I did enjoy thsi film too but I want the next one to be 'his'.

Whos Ty-Zor? The lame tyrant from the Abram's script?

Ty-Zor was one of the best things about the JJ script. Yes, he was pretty much zod in the early drafts but had alot of potential.

Nope, CH is still an active poster on both sites. I'll post at both places under my name if you want to see me.

We were talking about my knowledge of the comics and about Eradicator and Brainiac on Smallville. Not Singer. Did you forget so soon?

Do I need to repeat everything slowly for you? Are you that dense?

Do you have ADD or something or his your head that empty?

I would just love it to be Darkseid.

Brainiac

A ruthless extraterrestrial villain - in reality an ingenious humanoid computer created by the sinister computer tyrants of a far-distant planet - who has been an implacable foe of Superman since July, 1958.
Brainiac is an evil space mastermind and fearsome super-foe with an arsenal of awesome nightmarish scientific weapons at his command, and is perhaps the most terrible evil-doer in all the universe, a creature of superhuman intelligence, great scientific ability, and utter ruthlessness who is said to know the universe as no mere man knows it. It was Brainiac who, sometime prior to the death of the planet Krypton, literally stole the Kryptonian city of Kandor, reducing it to microscopic size with a diabolical shrinking ray and preserving it aboard his spacecraft inside a large glass bottle until it was finally recovered by Superman and placed for safekeeping inside his Fortress of Solitude.

Although Brainiac - with his green eyes and light-green skin - closely resembles the humanoid native inhabitants of the far-distant planet Colu, he is actually a sinister computer spy created by the computer tyrants which had seized control of that planet as the first step in a scheme of interplanetary conquest. With Colu's computer masters having long since been overthrown and destroyed in a great revolution that toppled them from their pinnacle of planetary power,

......"Brainiac now remains as the last of the mighty computer minds who has striven to keep his computer identity a secret, who is devoid of human emotions, and whose single greatest weakness may be his lack of insight into human psychology".

In his initial appearance he is portrayed as completely bare-headed, but later texts portray him as having a network of electronic devices atop his head which are described as the electric terminals of his sensory nerves.

Brainiac is sometimes accompanied on his marauding journeys through space by his alien pet, Koko, a white extraterrestrial creature which closely resembles a small monkey except for the twin antennae protruding from its forehead.

Because he is a master of super-scientific forces as well as the most terrible of all space villains, Brainiac possesses an awesome arsenal of super-scientific weapons and devices to aid him in his never-ending war against Superman. Even Lex Luthor, the world's most dangerous criminal scientist, has been moved to adopt some of Brainiac's more ingenious devices.

Perhaps the most important weapon in Brainiac's arsenal is his ultrasophisticated space-time craft, a weird vehicle capable of accelerating to such phenomenal velocities that it can literally penetrate the time barrier and travel through time as well as space. Portrayed sometimes as a flying saucer and at other times as a bizarre, light-bulb-shaped vehicle, it is surrounded by an invisible force field - or ultra-force barrier - which nothing in the universe can penetrate, and is crammed full of superscientific apparatus, including the amazing hyper-force machine built into the control panel.

It is by means of the hyper-forces emanating from this ingenious device - which is described as powered by hyper-batteries energized by cosmic rays - that Brainiac committed what has been called the greatest crime in the universe: the shrinking of the Kryptonian city of Kandor to microscopic size so that it could be imprisoned aboard his space-time craft inside a large glass bottle. The hyper-force ray is referred to as a reducing ray in at least one text and as a shrinking ray in several others.

Another superscientific apparatus employed by Brainiac is the special power-belt which surrounds the villain with an impenetrable ultra shell which even the heat of Superman's X-ray vision cannot penetrate.

Brainiac is a villain of such outstanding notoriety that Superman has devoted an entire room to him in his Fortress of Solitude. The so-called Brainiac Room contains a statue of the villain, a model of his space-time craft, and an array of scientific machinery constructed by Superman in connection with his experiments aimed at penetrating Brainiac's force-field.

In his early textual appearances, Brainiac is portrayed as a sinister alien who has been roaming the universe in his spacecraft, using his hyper-force machine to kidnap whole cities from various planets so that he can use them to found a new empire on his own desolate world, where the population has been decimated by a hideous plague. Indeed, the inference is unmistakable that Brainiac was once the ruler of the planet he now seeks to repopulate in this mosaic manner. "Yes, Koko," he gloats to his alien pet after stealing Paris in July 1958, "I will take a dozen cities-in-the-bottle back to repopulate my home world, where a plague wiped out my people! Then I will restore all the cities to their original size and have a new empire to rule, as before!"

In February 1964, however, while probing the universe with his time-space thought-scanner in the hope of locating an ally capable of helping him destroy Superman, Lex Luthor discovers that he has contacted a vastly powerful mind on a distant planet, years in the past. Carefully adjusting the controls of his uncanny instrument in order to get the mental picture clearer, Luthor finds that he has tuned in on the mind of Master Computer One, an electronic brain of towering intellect created by the green-skinned humanoid inhabitants of a far-distant planet. "A human mind is only a sixth-level effector," remarks one of the alien scientists associated with the construction of the master computer, "but the new computer is built to be a tenth-level effector!"

As the years passed, the green-skinned aliens built many such computers. Before long, however, the powerful master computers had wrested control of their planet from the humanoid civilization that had created them and had begun using weapons of awesome destructiveness to enforce their tyranny over the people.

As Luthor continues to survey the history of this distant planet with his time-space thought-scanner, he learns that the power-hungry mechanical minds soon concocted a diabolical scheme of interplanetary conquest. "We must extend our wise rule to all worlds governed by foolish humans!" asserted one computer, "First we'll send a computer spy to reconnoiter those worlds!"

"Our spy would be detected and destroyed unless he deceived them by looking human," observed a second computer, "We'll make a computer of powerful intelligence that looks human!"

And so, in the weeks that followed, an ingenious computer spy was built to carry out acts of interplanetary espionage for the evil master computers that had created it. Although their advanced technology would have enabled them to equip their new spy with a twelfth-order mind superior to their own, the computers decided to endow it with only a tenth-level effector mind as a safeguard against its attempting to capitalize on its superior intelligence in order to dominate its creators.

The master computers christened their humanoid computer-spy Brainiac. To ensure that he would not only look human, but act human as well, they fed the mental patterns of one of their planet's scientists into Brainiac's memory banks, thereby endowing him with a full range of human mannerisms. The master computers attempted to further enhance the credibility of Brainiac's human masquerade by selecting a boy from among their planet's green-skinned inhabitants to accompany Brainiac on his travels and pose as his son. The youngster chosen for the task, whom the master computers renamed Brainiac II, had no intention of allowing himself to become the tool of an evil computer, however, and at the earliest opportunity he ran away and escaped, forcing Brainiac to climb into his spacecraft and set out on his interplanetary espionage mission without him.

It was this boy who, in Brainiac's absence, ultimately led his people in the great revolution that destroyed the computer tyrants that had seized control of their planet. That courageous youngster, whose real name was Vril Dox, was the ancestor of Brainiac 5, one of the members of the Legion of Super-Heroes.

You figure it out:

Originally a sentient device invented by Kem-L, a kryptonian ancestor of Superman. The Eradicator was designed as a weapon against the Cleric, and as a device that ensured the genetic purity of kryptonians. It had many powers, one being able to alter the genetic makeup of all kryptonians so that they would be unable to live anywhere besides Krypton. Because of this introduced genetic flaw, the kryptonians who left with the Cleric all died. Also this meant no kryptonians could escape when Jor-El discovered Krypton's imminent doom. The Cleric gained control of the Eradicator and years later gave the artifact to Superman, who used it to teleport home from outer space. Superman, however, found the Eradicator's powers many and uncontrollable. One incident caused Jimmy Olsen to temporarily gain painful powers of elasticity. Deciding the Eradicator was too dangerous, Superman buried it in the Antarctic. Buried, the Eradicator secretly created a kryptonian Fortress and attempted to transform the Earth and alter Superman's mind to "transform" him into a kryptonian. When Superman discovered its' efforts he underwent the Kryptonian rite of passage and apparently had control of the Eradicator. However, the Eradicator continued to mentally attack Clark Kent, who only with the help of his adoptive parents defeated the device in the Antarctic, and Superman left the Eradicator in the sun apparently destroyed. Later, the Eradicator returned in a humanoid form again trying to convert Earth and Superman, before being apparently destroyed within the Fortress by Superman, helped by Prof. Hamilton. After Superman's apparent death, a being appeared known as the Last Son of Krypton. This being was revealed to be the Eradicator. The Eradicator's dissipated energies had reformed in the Fortress and when finding Superman dead, used his body's solar energies to convert mass from Superman's tomb into a body for the Eradicator. Then, the Eradicator had taken Superman's body to the Fortress of Solitude where the body slowly revived within an energy matrix. After Superman revived, he with the Eradicator and other heroes fought the Cyborg Superman. When the Cyborg Superman tried to use kryptonite energy to destroy Superman the Eradicator released its' energy to restore Superman. The body of the Eradicator was taken to Metropolis' S.T.A.R. Labs where a dying scientist (Dr. David Connor)'s experiments caused his mind to transfer into the Eradicator's body. This new Eradicator has worked with the heroes known as the Outsiders.

edit:

btw HO...this is from SH

Brainiac: First appearing in Action Comics #242 (July 1958), Brainiac was a bald, green-skinned humanoid who arrived on Earth and shrank various cities, including Metropolis, storing them in bottles with the intent of using them to restore Bryak, the planet he ruled. He was accompanied by a "space monkey" named Koko. Cover to Action Comics #242, Brainiac's first appearance. Art by Curt Swan and Stan Kaye. While fighting Brainiac, Superman discovered the villain had previously shrunk the Kryptonian city of Kandor. He was able to restore the Earth cities to full size, but the Kandorians sacrificed their restoration to help him. Superman stored the city in his Fortress of Solitude, vowing to return the natives to full size. Brainiac's legacy was revealed in Action Comics #276, in a Legion of Super-Heroes back up story. This introduced the green-skinned, blond-haired teenager Querl Dox, or Brainiac 5, who believed himself to be Brainiac's 30th century descendant. Unlike his apparent ancestor, Brainiac 5 used his "twelfth level intellect" for good, and joined the Legion alongside Supergirl, with whom he fell in love. His home planet was given variously as Yod or Colu. In Superman #167 (February 1964) it was discovered that Brainiac was a machine, created by the "Computer Tyrants of Colu" as a spy. To increase the illusion that he was alive, he was given a "son", a young Coluan boy who was given the name Brainiac 2, but escaped. This was Brainiac 5's ancestor. It was later revealed that his name was Vril Dox, and that he went on to lead the revolt against the Computer Tyrants. It was in this story that Brainiac first appeared with a distinctive gridwork of red diodes across his head, later explained as the "electric terminals of his sensory nerves". This would remain his appearance until Action Comics #544 (June 1983), in which he was forced to create a new body, a metallic skeleton with a green, honeycomb-patterned "braincase". He retained his appearance until the Crisis on Infinite Earths.
Vril Dox
In the Post-Crisis DC Universe, Brainiac's history was dramatically altered. Vril Dox was now a radical Coluan scientist who, having attempted to overthrow the Computer Tyrants, was sentenced to death. In his last moments, his consciousness was attracted to Earthly sideshow mentalist Milton Fine, who worked under the alias "Brainiac". Needing cranial fluid to maintain his possession of Fine, Dox went on a murder spree. He discovered Fine had genuine psychic powers, which he frequently used on Superman. This version of Brainiac made his first appearance in Adventures of Superman #438 (March 1988). Brainiac was later captured by Lex Luthor, but used his powers to wrest control of LexCorp away from him. Under his mental domination, LexCorp scientists restored his Coluan form. The diodes in his head now increased and stabilized his mental powers, as well as allowing him direct access to computer banks. He continued to plague Superman, using a combination of mental powers and computer control. On one occasion he even returned to his pre-Crisis incarnation's city-shrinking tactics.
In the crossover story Invasion! it was revealed that, prior to its dispersion, the Computer Tyrants had allowed Vril Dox to clone a lab assistant. This was Vril Dox II, who would go on to form L.E.G.I.O.N., and (although he never uses the name) is the post-Crisis version of Brainiac 2.
The Doomsday Wars
During his latest skirmish with Superman in Metropolis, Milton Fine's body was irreperrably damaged, leaving Brainiac with only a short time to live. In order to preserve his life, he concocted an elaborate scheme. He had an agent of his, a Coluan named Prin Vnok, use a time machine to travel to the most inhospitable time in existence, the End of Time itself. His goal was the rescue of Doomsday, who had been left there by Superman and Waverider to ensure that he would never be a threat again. Seconds before the forces of entropy destroyed Doomsday forever, he was taken to safety by Prin Vnok and returned to Colu. There, a terminally wounded Brainiac transferred his consciousness into Doomsday's body, temporarily becoming the most powerful being in the universe - a genius psychic mind inside an unstoppable, indestructible titan. However, Doomsday's own raging mind would eventually overwhelm even Brainiac's will, forcing him to find another host body. Although Brainiac attempted to clone a new Doomsday that he could fully inhabit, his efforts failed and he was forced to adopt a robotic body, dubbed Brainiac 2.5. He became briefly obsessed with gaining Superman's form.
Brainiac 13. Cover to Superman Y2K #1. Art by Jackson Guice. At the turn of the millennium, Brainiac revealed he had placed a sleeper virus in LexCorp's Y2K bug safeguards. This was intended to dramatically boost his abilities. Instead it allowed his upgraded future self, Brainiac 13, to arrive from the 64th century. B-13 began transforming Metropolis into the 64th century version of the city, which, apparently, he controlled. When it became apparent he was to be defeated by the combined efforts of Luthor, Superman and his own past self (now possessing the body of Luthor's infant daughter Lena), he gave control of the city to Luthor in exchange for Lena/Brainiac 2.5, whom he forced to help him escape. He returned to Earth during the Our Worlds At War crossover, in which Earth and its allies fought a multifront war against Brainiac 13 and Imperiex. Brainiac 13 claimed to be allying himself to Earth, but this proved to be part of a complex plan to regain control. His chief aide was "Leniac", a green-skinned teenager with "control discs" on her forehead, suggesting the diodes of earlier Brainiacs (and identical to the forehead discs of the "upgraded" Brainiac 5.1, in the Legion, and the Animated Series version of the original Brainiac). At the end of the war Brainiac 13 and Imperiex were both sent back in time, becoming part of the Big Bang, and Brainiac 2.5 was expunged from Lena, who reverted to infancy, although the discs remained.

In the upcoming DC Minimates action-figure line, Brainiac 13 is packaged with Battle Damaged Superman.
Brainiac 12
In Superman #200 (Feb 2004), Superman travelled into the future and battled Brainiac 12, learning that everything Brainiac 13 had done in the past had been designed to ensure things reached the point where Brainiac 13 would be created. B-12's defeat before his upgrade apparently reversed the advances B-13 had made to Metropolis.

Later stories have referenced Brainiac (not Tolos) taking Kandor from Krypton, suggesting that some of Brainiac's Pre-Crisis history is still in continuity; however, the exact details of this have not yet been explained.

The Eradicator's power source
The Last Son of Krypton stole Superman's body and put it in a regeneration matrix in the Fortress of Solitude, drawing on his recovering energies to power himself, as bright light blinded him. It is revealed that the Last Son is the Eradicator, an ancient Kryptonian weapon, and the Cyborg is the deranged consciousness of Hank Henshaw, which used Superman's birthing matrix to create a physical duplicate of his body.
